UPD. The article about holidays in Mui Ne was written a hundred years ago. Now I would not be so categorical. There are pluses: fresh seafood, low prices, beautiful nature, the sea (it is not always possible to swim, but it is there!). One day I will return to Mui Ne and rewrite the post, but for now, please do not be offended if the text caused you negative emotions. Vietnam is awesome!

***
I share my impressions, reviews, show photos and talk about what it really is popular resort Phan Thiet in the south of Vietnam and its “offshoot” Mui Ne, which the people affectionately call “Mui Ne”, is a favorite hangout place for kitesurfers and Russian package tourists.

Prices for tours to Vietnam ↓

But first, a backstory. Wow, it's been so long since I've written a backstory! If you are interested practical information, you can immediately go to the right place in the article by clicking on the link:

***
Was there Vietnam in my life? Probably was, since in the old passport there is an entry stamp on a Vietnamese visa, bought for $ 77 in the center of Lao Vientiane. Me with 70 men to travel the country. With all my heart I wanted to travel from north to south in a month and see authentic villages, National parks and deserted beaches that I once read about.

Now, when I love and am loved by a wonderful adequate person, it is difficult for me to understand the motives that moved me at that period of my life. What made me abandon the planned route in one night, buy two plane tickets with my own money and follow those who are not needed to noisy Mui Ne, where I didn’t want to at all?

Partly passion, which I wrote about earlier. But, to be completely honest, the driving force was the sudden fear of being alone and the self-doubt that was progressing at that time. It was in such a strange state that I found myself at night on the streets of the Vietnamese Mui Ne. A place that did not fit into my format, and in the format of which I did not fit in any way.

But the fact remains. I arrived in Mui Ne, stayed there for several days, after which I hurriedly left the resort. In the best traditions. At night.

Visiting foreign backpackers, who were mistakenly brought to Mui Ne by the finger of fate, curse and also try to get up as soon as possible, after which they heal their emotional wounds with bottles of beer in Saigon, where, sitting on small blue chairs in the Pham Ngu Lao area in the evening, they pour their exciting stories about the adventures in the “russian ghetto” in the ears of those who, for some reason, plan to go to Mui Ne, having read about the resort in the guidebook.

If at this moment, as if by the way, utter something like “By the way, my mother tongue is Russian”, in response you can only hear the sad “I’m very sorry. D'you wanna beer? I invite.”

It's not that foreigners don't like Russians, rather they are shocked by the surroundings of Mui Ne. A person simply cannot expect that he will come to Vietnam and find himself in the Russian 2000s. Nowadays, you don’t really need to go to Russia to hear Alla Pugacheva and Nikolai Baskov screaming their wonderful songs all over the street.

All this is right on the main street in Mui Ne, along with borscht, dumplings, sour cream and smiling Vietnamese who are trying to sell you dragon fruit for $ 3 apiece and say, “This is deseva, madam! Autumn is Deseva!

Honestly, Mui Ne is one of those rare places on Earth, which I do not like and where I do not want to return for any price. In this article I will try to talk about the resort impartially and note the main pros and cons that caught my eye.

You will say that everything has already been written a long time ago. Yes but not all. What they write about Mui Ne is more often a lie and custom-made nonsense copied by copywriters from other copywriters who have never been to Vietnam.

The very first tab at the request of Mui Ne led me to the website of the Rainbow travel agency, which says that “Phan Thiet is perfect for family vacation with children because there comfortable beaches” and that Cape Mui Ne is, it turns out, perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Sure sure. How!

Let at least my dear readers learn the truth from me, since the agency "Rainbow" and others like them are not helpers in this.

The secret of the popularity of Mui Ne and Phan Thiet

Once Mui Ne was a simple village in the south of Vietnam. The fishermen were slowly catching fish and shellfish on their small boats, basins, the sun rose every day at 5.30 am and set below the horizon at 6 pm.

Like 1000 years ago, today the time of sunset and sunrise in Vietnam is unchanged. Like 100 years ago, now the streets of the village are filled with the intoxicating smell of fish sauce. But some things have changed and continue to change.

The wind constantly blows from the desert. In the early 2000s, this same wind brought the first kitesurfers and windsurfers to Mui Ne. Since then, the once deserted shores south of the fishing village have been actively built up with hotels and concrete houses.

Even 5-7 years ago, mainly surfers and kitesurfers rode in Mui Ne. During the day, the guys skated, and in the evening they got drunk and picked up girls in several local bars. A sort of party “for their own”. It was possible to live cheaply and have fun hanging out all winter in the company of kiter friends.

But one day, major Russian companies found out about Mui Ne. travel companies. The monsters of the travel industry saw the potential and began selling organized tours to a godforsaken village in southern Vietnam.

The Vietnamese know how to adapt, so they quickly learned the Russian language, raised the prices of housing and fruits, and turned the neighborhood of Mui Ne into the tourist capital of Vietnam, giving the sprawling resort the proud French name of Phan Thiet.

Mui Ne and Phan Thiet beaches

Mui Ne and Phan Thiet are located 7 km apart on the coast of the South China Sea. Tourists who have a higher travel budget settle in Phan Thiet. There are more expensive hotels and cafe prices are higher than in Mui Ne. Those with a more modest travel budget tend to find accommodation closer to the fishing village.

These resorts smoothly flow into one another and represent a strip of beaches 15 km long, along which there are hotels. From more expensive to cheaper.

There is in the north of Mui Ne wild beaches which can only be reached by bike. Some of them do not even have a road and you have to drive along the sand along the sea.

Despite the fact that Phan Thiet and Mui Ne are positioned as resorts for families beach holiday swimming there is very problematic, especially with small children.

The sea is dirty and rough. You can swim only in the morning, in the afternoon big waves, it is inconvenient to lie on the shore, because the sand blown by the wind unpleasantly cuts the skin

Why people who do not ride in Mui Ne are a mystery to me. There is only one explanation - tours are inexpensive, in the offices tour operators hang noodles on their ears, that's why people go

Features of rest in Mui Ne (Phan Thiet), my reviews:

  • The entire resort is located on both sides of one main street Nguyen Dinh Chieu, which stretches along the beach. All cafes, shops, hotels and guest houses are located on this street.
  • Nowhere else in the world have I seen so many compatriots vacationing. Even less in Turkey. Signs in the native language hang on cafes and restaurants, and in the evenings Baskov’s drawling voice and Kirkorov’s groovy songs with Pugachova are heard from the speakers in the evenings. I don't know if it's possible to meet a Vietnamese in Phan Thiet these days who doesn't speak Russian.
  • If you have lived in Thailand before and are now looking for an alternative for a longer stay, then it is likely that Mui Ne will disappoint you. Better check out Nha Trang
  • Phan Thiet is for you if you are into kitesurfing and surfing. There are dozens of instructors who will help you get on the board, but the beach in Mui Ne is not the best. the best place for study. The sand strip is very narrow, there are big waves in the sea, the depth begins immediately near the shore
  • There are no large supermarkets that you get used to in Thailand. Goods have to be bought in small private shops with an extra charge
  • There are reviews on the Internet about meetings with rats, but I have not seen rodents. Let's believe we're dead
  • Since there is no public transport as such, you will have to rent a motorcycle. Bikes are rented both with a manual box and automatic ones. If you don’t know how to ride a bike and don’t want to, you can buy excursions in one of the many travel agencies.
  • Be sure to hide helmets in the trunk. Our helmet was stolen from our bike right in the hotel yard

Where to eat and buy groceries in Phan Thiet and Mui Ne

  • There are more or less high-quality markets in Phan Thiet, called Coop Mart and Lotte Mart. When buying products, be sure to look at the expiration date!
  • If you need fresh vegetables and fruits, then it is better to buy them early in the morning at the Hàm Tiến market in the center of Mui Ne. The same goes for fresh seafood. You need to come to the market for them from 6 to 9 in the morning
  • In the evenings, fruit prices in small shops can be twice as high as in the market.
  • Cafes change every year, service deteriorates, so check up-to-date information about cafes and restaurants on the spot, but rather find it in the social. networks of someone who now lives in Mui Ne and ask him

Attractions of Phan Thiet (Muine) and surroundings

Attractions are very conditional. There are not so many of them, and they are all mostly natural. Without much straining, all the surrounding beauty can be seen in one or two days, but this will require a bike.

red creek

Marked as Fairy Stream on maps. Centrally located resort area Mui Ne. It is a canyon with red walls and a stream flowing through it, in the place of which there used to be a deep river. It is because of the Red Creek that the water in the sea is so muddy.

The stream is difficult to miss, as there is a fish sauce factory near the entrance to it. As soon as you smell the strong smell of fish, you are there!

Cham Pasha Towers

Built in the 8th century, the remains of the Cham culture.

red dunes

5 km from Mui Ne village. You can get there by bus or bike. It's better to go in the morning. The day is very hot. Taxi will cost $7. Exactly how much does it cost to rent a bike for 1 day.

red dunes

red canyon

Located on the way to the White Dunes. If you go with a tour, you will be released to the stream for two minutes. It is better to take a bike and go by yourself

White dunes and lotus lake

White dunes and wild beaches on the way to them are the best I have seen in Vietnam, so I highly recommend visiting this place. Can buy organized tour($10 per person) or rent a bike. On a bike, of course, more fun. Drive 40 minutes one way.

What else to see in Mui Ne:

In the vicinity there is Mount Taku with a statue of the reclining Buddha, Ke Ga lighthouse, Pitahaya plantations. Phan Thiet has several museums and an amusement park.

Mountain Dalat

If you came to rest for a couple of weeks, I highly recommend a three-day trip to Dalat. This is French city in the mountains in the center of Vietnam.

Tours to Dalat are sold in Mui Ne, but it’s best to just buy a bus ticket, book a hotel in Dalat for a couple of nights, rent a bike on the spot and ride around the surrounding mountains and waterfalls, crack strawberries.

Prices in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet

Housing prices start from 10-15$ per day for a modest room with a shower in a small guesthouse by the sea.

Prices for food in a cafe - 5-10$
Soup - 2.5-3$
Salad - from 3$
Meat and hot dishes 5$
Fresh - 2.5$
Coffee - 1$

Kitesurfing training 50-60$ in a day
Equipment rental — from 50$ in a day

Guest for $10 per day
shells

Prices for excursions in Mui Ne

  • Dalat - one day 40-55$ , two-day 110-150$ per person
  • Mount Taco - group 30$ per person
  • Group Taku Springs Binh Chau – crocodile farm – 60$
  • White dunes - 10$ for one

Prices for the same tour in different agencies can vary greatly. For example, on the Dima tour you will be offered a trip to the Mekong Delta for $120, and on the Lena tour for the same excursion you may be asked for $150.

In general, if you don’t want to rent a bike and ride yourself, go to the agencies and ask who offers what. In addition to the standard “farm, crocodile, stream, dunes, Saigon”, you can find something really interesting and not beaten.

How to get to Mui Ne?

The nearest airport is located in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).

From the center of Ho Chi Minh City by bus to Mui Ne, it takes 5-7 hours. The ticket costs 7-10$ , but to take the bus, you must first come from Saigon airport to the city center on Phan Ngu Lao, find a ticket office and buy a bus ticket there, or you can look at the schedule in advance and buy a bus ticket on the Internet.

You can use the search form below. When the list of tickets opens, you can change the currency in the upper right corner (rubles, Vietnamese dongs, dollars). This is a local Asian search engine that shows all available options - from expensive to cheapest ↓↓

Is it worth going on holiday to Mui Ne?

Thus, if you, like me, prefer not to tourist places and in each country you are looking primarily for local flavor, then a vacation in Mui Ne will definitely not suit you. Better consider Nha Trang as an alternative.

Firstly, to eat seafood and chat with compatriots, you do not need to travel so far. Secondly, if you need a quality beach holiday, then the coast of Phan Thiet paradise beaches cannot boast. The sea is dirty, the waves.

If, as a well-known mammoth, you are not afraid of waves, wind, rats, or drunk kitesurfers (or maybe you yourself are a drunk kiter), then congratulations. Mui Ne suits you! But you already know this without me and most likely you will not read this article.

If you have been to those places a few years ago, do not rush to argue with me and say how cool it is there. Since then, the resort has deteriorated and continues to deteriorate.

Unforgettable holiday in Vietnam! Sincerely,

    TOURIST ANSWERS:

Mui Ne is a city quarter of Phan Thiet. Mui Ne is located on the coastal cape of the same name and is popular among the Vietnamese themselves and tourists from different countries world resort. Such a sweet South Vietnamese slice of calm, long beach area with a huge number of resorts, and a village with local fishermen and their families living in it in the northern part of a small bay.

Mui Ne became a popular resort town in 1995, when a lot of people came here to watch the solar eclipse. That's how we learned about this beautiful corner.

The fishing village of Mui Ne was generally nicknamed by the fishermen themselves: when terrible storms began, they hid on this piece of land. "Mui" is translated as "cape" or "island", and "not" - shelter.

Prices for accommodation options and services here have become a bit high, due to the strong influence of nearby Ho Chi Minh City (four hours away). Mui Ne has developed rapidly in recent years and now offers guests great resorts average, but the number of options for travelers on a budget has decreased significantly (but don't worry, even the most budget-conscious will find a place to relax here, for example, small bungalows by the sea).

Mui Ne beaches - with yellow fine sand. While the central section of the beach (the flesh to the northern tip) is not too clean and here you can see traces of the fishing industry (a fair amount of garbage, nets, dead fish and other fishing paraphernalia are often thrown ashore, and ducks, chickens and seagulls), southern part The beaches are better suited for swimming, water sports and sun loungers. And, of course, parts of private beaches belonging to individual resorts look just perfect, even if this hotel is located on the northern part of Mui Ne. Let pamphlets and booklets scream what it is paradise with azure water and the cleanest beaches- you will find them, and dirty poor Mui Ne. Mui Ne, in general, is indeed a little dirty, and the Thais themselves do not seem to realize the beauty of this region and litter even more.

By the way, about the fishing industry. There are many fishermen in Mui Ne, and if you are looking for photos of the real life of Vietnam, you better get up early, at five o'clock, at dawn - and then you can witness a real charming fish ceremony: fishermen return home from night fishing, pull nets onto the beach , full of fish, sort it out, and their children help them. Here you can immediately buy a couple of fresh fish.

Mui Ne is famous among kite and windsurfers.
The winds blow here, one might say, almost on schedule, and the winds are just perfect for these sports. So, in good weather in the sky it’s simply not overcrowded, as they say, and surfer centers on the beach are at every step. The boards cut through the waves, and it is surprising that they do not collide with each other, or even knock down bathing tourists.

If you plan to spend more than one or two days, or even a week in Mui Ne, it is better to bring your own boards, since the prices for renting them are far from low. Well, a ride once or twice - do not go broke. Well, water entertainment, like jet skis and buns - you are always welcome.

Away from the beaches of Mui Ne, there is another great attraction - sand dunes , which is very easy to reach on your own, by bicycle or motorcycle or by taxi (motorcycle or jeep).
It seems that these dunes are not from this country at all, the dunes are very beautiful, and luxurious photos are obtained here. It is better to go to these dunes at the end of the day to watch the sunset and look at the picturesque Mui Ne from afar.
By the way, Mui Ne is an amazing mix of different landscapes: rice fields, dunes, ravines, a stream, palm groves, beaches, and the sea. The beauty! By the way, if you decide to walk through the coconut groves, be careful! Some kind of special coconut trees grow here, in which the nuts are 2-3 times larger, so if such a coconut jumps on its head, you can even get a concussion (if you don’t throw away the skates, this also happens). For example, there was once a story that a young couple kissed under these palm trees in romantic bliss, and when this “nut” fell on the guy’s head, he got a terrible concussion, and completely bit off his girlfriend’s tongue.

With a developed tourist infrastructure, Mui Ne is very popular among our compatriots - perhaps 80 percent of vacationers here are Russians and Ukrainians, so don't be surprised. Accordingly, the attendants in many hotels and restaurants already know a little Russian - and where to go! You will see a lot of signs in Russian here.
So, be careful there with matyugi. And in Mui Ne there are many restaurants and hotels run by Russian citizens. By the way, that is why this area is sometimes called the “Russian village”. Therefore, many do not like Mui Ne - sort of like Vietnam, but like Anapa. And, I absolutely don't like it.

Of the other disadvantages of Mui Ne - not always friendly service in cafes (often in Russian restaurants, just the same), a dirty beach (as I wrote above), not very neat the main street and not very good transport system(particularly taxi drivers).

The best time to visit this glorious place is from December to May. At this time it is not very hot here - something in the region of 27 -28 ° C, besides, it is quite dry. Another plus of this resort. Another plus is that you will not be pestered on the beach, as in Turkey and Egypt. Sometimes there are vendors with beer and fruit yokes. If you do not pay attention to them, they will quietly move away.

In general, if you are thinking about whether to go to central Phan Thiet or stay in Mui Ne, then you need to be aware that although these city center and district are 20 minutes away from each other, the difference between the parts is big. Phan Thiet is definitely beach town where there are more Vietnamese than tourists. This is real Vietnam, not a tourist one. Or tourists from Asia, but they are (forgive me) difficult to distinguish from local residents sometimes.

Well, Mui Ne is a purely tourist village. Although it is very quiet here at night, except that occasionally a motorcycle passes by, well, maybe a couple of our drunken fellow citizens will run through with songs. Getting lost here is simply unrealistic, and, if anything, you will always be helped and delivered.

    Helpful answer?

Mui Ne is one of the resorts located near the city of Phan Hiet, one of the most popular places among tourists, it is also called the tourist capital of Vietnam.

Like any other place, Mui Ne has both its pros and cons, which will be discussed in my article. I will start, as usual, with positive moments.

    Pros of Mui Ne

The first and main plus of this resort is beaches and the opportunity to enjoy a beach holiday- the resort itself is a long strip of beach that stretches for 10 kilometers. All buildings are located along coastline, close to her.

The second plus is the presence of waves and the possibility of surfing and windsurfing. The best time for surfing is from August to December, and for windsurfing - from the end of October to the end of April, the wind blows all day long, so training is provided for lovers of this sport.

By the way, another plus for surfers is that demand, as you know, creates supply, so you can rent equipment in many shops and hotels - it's not expensive. In addition, you can use the services of an individual instructor, but it will not be too cheap - on average, prices for an hour lesson start at $ 60, however, if you take several classes at once, you can get a discount.

The third plus of Mui Ne is the presence of a large number of hotels and hostels of various categories. A tourist with any wallet and any requests will find something suitable here - prices for the most budget rooms (in these you will find a bed, air conditioning and a bathroom - everything you need, but as simple as possible and without any frills) start at 800 rubles per night - Reasonable price even for a budget tourist.

Mui Ne has hotels of all categories - most of all mid-range hotels - three and four stars, but there are also hotels without stars and several luxurious five-star resorts. In general, if you are planning to go to Mui Ne, you will have plenty to choose from.

The fourth advantage is developed infrastructure. Since there are a lot of tourists there, they open cafes, restaurants, small shops and spas.

Restaurants in Mui Ne traditionally receive praise from tourists - they serve a huge amount of seafood and fish - squid, stingrays, moray eels, crabs, fish of different sizes, shrimp, lobsters, etc. From exotic dishes, you can try a snake or turtle (though it will cost it's more expensive for you).

Both Vietnamese and international restaurants are presented - everyone can choose what he likes. The coast is really teeming with small souvenir and grocery stores - there you can have a bite to eat or buy gifts for your friends and relatives - there is a choice, although the assortment in all shops is about the same, the quality is generally average, you need to choose carefully. Be that as it may, you will definitely not be left without souvenirs.

And finally, massage and spa salons. There are also enough of them, people are pulled up there mainly in the evening. All services are traditional - a foot massage, head massage, Thai massage and so on. It is better to choose a salon based on the reviews of friends or based on your own experience.

So let's make a preliminary conclusion.

    Mui Ne Pros:

    • availability of sandy beaches
    • waves suitable for surfing and windsurfing
    • the presence of a large number of hotels of different categories
    • availability of restaurants, shops and massage parlors

Now let's move on to the negatives.

    Cons of Mui Ne

The first and main disadvantage is troubled sea.

What was a plus for someone may be a minus for another person. If you prefer calm waters - Mui Ne - this is not the place where you should relax. Of course, there is calm on the sea, but basically it is still restless. It is for this reason that I would not recommend going to the resort with small children (in the event that you plan to swim in the sea).

The second disadvantage is no evening entertainment. Life at the resort stops after 9-10 pm, the streets become quiet, there is nowhere to go. From time to time there is a disco, but this does not happen every day. In general, you will not find anything similar to a European party holiday in Mui Ne.

The third disadvantage is quite a long drive from the airport. The distance from Ho Chi Minh City (where the nearest airport is located) to Mui Ne is more than two hundred kilometers. Vietnamese roads are in a far from ideal condition, so be prepared for an average 5-6 hour drive to the resort.

And finally, the fourth disadvantage is almost complete lack of sights, to all interesting places will have to go. I’ll make a reservation right away that there are a couple of temples directly in Mui Ne, and multi-colored dunes a couple of tens of kilometers away, but in general, that’s all. To other interesting places, you will need to book an excursion or go by yourself.

    cons of Mui Ne:

    • restless sea, waves
    • lack of nightclubs, bars, discos
    • far drive from the airport
    • almost complete lack of sights

Who is Mui Ne suitable for?

In my opinion, rest in Mui Ne is great for athletes - surfers, windsurfers and so on. If they are mainly interested in having a great ride on the waves, they will surely like Mui Ne. By the way, it is better to come there with a company - it will still be more fun in the evening.

Also, Mui Ne will appeal to those who are not embarrassed by the waves, and those who like to try different restaurants and go for a massage every night.

And, finally, Mui Ne will appeal to those who like to sleep at night, and not to have fun - it's quiet, calm, and nothing will disturb your sleep.

Who doesn't want to stay in Mui Ne?

Holidays in Mui Ne are not suitable for those who love the calm sea and those who would like to go snorkeling.

It is unlikely that families with small children who would like to bathe the kids in the sea will be happy - the waves will surely interfere with this.

For lovers of stormy nightlife it will be too boring - there is practically nowhere to go.

And, finally, such a vacation is unlikely to attract those who love historical sights - there is almost nothing nearby (except for a couple of temples), and traveling somewhere far and tiring.

Mui Ne (in Vietnamese the name is written as Mũi Né)- small resort village in the south of Vietnam, not far from the city. You can get to it from Ho Chi Minh City and. Phan Thiet - more Big City, where, in addition, you can visit entertainment venues and attractions.

The resort area of Phan Thiet and Mui Ne is called 17 km strip of beach between these settlements.

    Climatic conditions

This area of Vietnam has a tropical climate. There are two seasons; dry season (from to June) and rainy season (from to ). Most days are sunny.

    Air and water temperature:

    • Winter temperatures are around 27°C during the day and 25°C at night. For walks, light T-shirts and shorts are enough, only in the evening you can wear jeans.
    • and - the hottest months of the year. Daytime temperature - 33–34 °С, nighttime - 28 °С.
    • The average daily air temperature is from 30 to 33 °С.
    • The sea warms up to 28 °С in summer, but in the winter months it is not cold - 24–25 °С.

Mui Ne, due to its location on a cape, Phan Thiet and the coast as a whole are characterized strong winds from the end of October to the end, so the place is popular with kitesurfers, . By April, the sea becomes calmer and more suitable for swimming. But, despite the wind, the weather here is very comfortable for relaxing at any time.

During the rainy season, which starts in June and lasts until October, the rains are short and the relative humidity is low compared to, for example, Thailand - 79%. But at this time there are a lot of greenery and flowers, the air is not dusty, there are more birds and butterflies.

    Beaches

Mui Ne is located on a cape bearing the same name. Previously, it was a little-known fishing village, which, thanks to the development of tourism in the last decade and a half, has become one of the most popular resort villages with a developed tourist infrastructure and a strip of beaches about 17 kilometers long.

Interesting! Phan Thiet is the capital of Binh Thuan Province.

The beaches in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet, near which most hotels are located, attract a lot of tourists, including from Russia. They are characterized by great length, natural diversity, the presence of sunbeds and umbrellas on most beaches. All beaches are easily accessible by public transport from Phan Thiet.

Reference! The staff of many hotels in this place speaks Russian.

Each beach has its own characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, and every tourist in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet can find a place to relax and swim to his taste.

    Central

Another name for this beach is Mui Ne Beach, it is located in the center of the village.

    Has a well-developed infrastructure:

    • coastal cafes and restaurants, bars,
    • travel agencies,
    • massage parlors,
    • motobike and bicycle rentals,
    • ATMs.

Mui Ne Beach is next to the bus road. When a strong wind blows, there are high waves on the beach. For swimmers, this factor is likely to be a minus, excluding extreme sports enthusiasts, but it will attract kite and windsurfers. Waves are more frequent on the western side Central beach Mui Ne.

The eastern part is more calm, but also narrower: at high tide, the sea leaves too little strip of sand for sunbathing. The water on the Central Beach is not very clear due to strong waves. Near the beach there are a lot of hotels of different price categories.

    Bai Rang

The length of the beach is 7 km, it is located in the center of Mui Ne village. It borders on Mui Ne Beach, sometimes they are combined into one beach. There are golden sands and Better conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing, as strong winds are frequent.

Note! There are schools where instructors teach skating on the board and on water skiing and also provide equipment for rent.

    • Agoda.com - search the best options among 2 million hotels and inns

For swimming, the place is not the best because of the restless sea, and windsurfers are a danger to tourists lying on the sand. Hotels on the beach:

    Sea Links Beach Hotel

    Sunny Hotel Beach Resort& Spa

    At the Ocean Vista Hotel

This private beautiful beach located 200 meters from the hotel, you need to cross the road at the crossing. On the border with Bai Rang Beach there are breakwaters that form a calm bay. Along the beach there is a picturesque promenade where local food and ice cream are sold in the evening.

Important! The hotel staff maintains cleanliness on the beach, towels are issued. Lifeguards are on duty.

Of the minuses hotel guests note the presence sand fleas. But the sea is very clean and calm, no windsurfers or kitesurfers.

    Ham Tien

Situated on east coast peninsulas, its length is several kilometers from the center of Mui Ne to the fishing pier. Quiet and calm beach with local flavor - there are small villages nearby where you can cheaply rent a room in a guest house.

There are few people on Ham Tien, but fishing boats are moored nearby, giving a certain flavor to this place. The beach is not cleaned, so there are a lot of branches and leaves. The strip of sand on it is rather narrow, and closer to the fishing pier it completely disappears and you can swim only from concrete slabs that strengthen the shore.

Note! Nearby is the largest market in Phan Thiet, where you can buy local food and souvenirs.

Also within walking distance are red dunes is one of the highlights of the area. Hotels near Ham Tien Beach:

    Muine Sports Hotel

Long Son Mui Ne Beach Campgrounds Resort

    Surf4You Residence Hotel

    Phu Hai

Situated on west coast peninsulas, you can get to it if you drive from Mui Ne towards Phan Thiet, then turn off the main road downhill. It is separated from the Central Beach by rocks. Only hotel guests swim and relax here:

    Phu Hai Resort Hotel

    Takalau Hotel

There are no Vietnamese settlements nearby. The beach is wide, clean, cleaned by attendants. Guests of nearby hotels can use sunbeds and umbrellas on it. The beach strip is sandy, almost without stones. However, if you go a little deeper from the coast, the stones meet, so it is better to swim at high tide. The sea is clean, there are waves, but small ones, they do not interfere with swimming.

Of the shortcomings again, the presence of sand midges can be noted, which is typical for most of the beaches in this region of Vietnam. Hotels near the beach are mostly expensive, four- and five-star.

Note! Not far from Phu Hai is a popular attraction - Cham Towers.

    Tien Thanh

Can you get to the beach from Phan Thiet (distance about 30 km), you need to go to the left, in the opposite direction from Mui Ne, to Cape Ke Ga. Nearby are four- and five-star hotels, such as Villas Delsol Resort.

It is a quiet and calm beach. Infrastructure - only hotel. There are sunbeds and awnings. The hotel staff conducts daily cleaning. The sea is murky, windy days brings in the trash.

    Ke Ga (Ke Ga)

The beach is located south of Phan Thiet, at a distance of 40 km. This rather secluded place is suitable for introverts and people tired of the hustle and bustle. The sea is calm here, the winds are not frequent, no high waves, comfortable to swim. The sand is fine, clean, adjacent to large stones. In some places on the shore there are a lot of shells. The landscapes are very picturesque.

Note! There are no sun loungers and umbrellas, there are very few cafes and restaurants.

Near the beach, on the islet of Khon Ba (which separates from the shore at high tide), is the main attraction of this place - Ke Ga lighthouse, 60 m high, over 100 years old. At low tide, the lighthouse can be reached on foot along a narrow strip of sand.

You can practice on Ke Ga beach diving and snorkeling, because the local waters abound with corals. Hotels nearby:

    Hotel Sonata Resort & Spa

    Tropical Ocean Resort Hotel

Princess d'An Nam Resort & Spa

    Doi Duong

The beach is on the outskirts of Phan Thiet. There are many cafes and restaurants nearby, but the actual beach infrastructure - sun loungers and umbrellas - is not available. For entertainment, you can visit golf course at Dunes Golf Club. The residents of Phan Thiet themselves often relax on the beach.

    Hon rom (Hon rom)

The beach is in a few kilometers northeast of Mui Ne, there is no entertainment and beach infrastructure on it. Bus number one runs from the city. The sea here is shallower than in the center of Mui Ne, so there are fewer waves.

Important! However, Hon Rom cannot boast of cleanliness, as local fishermen and tourists themselves leave garbage on it, which no one cleans up.

The advantages of the beach include a line of coconut trees along the entire coastline. Hotels nearby:

Madame Cus Saigon Emerald Resort Hotel

    Muine Bay Resort Hotel

    Hotel Pandanus Resort

On weekends, this beach is often busy with Saigon residents who come to relax and swim.

    Suoi Nuoc

Located in a small bay of the same name, next to the beach of Hon Rom. calm, quiet place. Near beautiful white sand dunes. There are sun loungers and awnings belonging to nearby hotels, for example:

    Full Moon Village Hotel

Segments of the beach near the hotels are being cleaned. Despite the location in the bay, Suoi Nuoc is constantly windy, so it is suitable for windsurfers. You can also go kayaking.

    Is there a nude beach?

Nudism is not officially allowed in Vietnam, so actually there are no nude beaches. And if in other resorts you can find a quiet place and sunbathe without clothes, then in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet this is really bad, except perhaps on secluded beaches like Ke Ga.

    Rating of the best

Therefore, you can compare the beaches based on cleanliness, distance from the center, the presence of waves, the presence of infrastructure:

    • According to cleanliness, the beach near Ocean Hotel Vista.
    • By the presence of infrastructure - Mui Ne Beach and Bai Rang.
    • By distance from noisy Phan Thiet - Ke Ga.
    • Due to the lack of waves - the beach near the Ocean Vista Hotel, Phu Hai.
    • Ham Tien Beach is considered the most authentic due to the proximity of the market of the same name.

Pros and cons of beaches in Mui Ne

For a traditional beach holiday, when you can safely lie on the sand, lie in the surf and swing on the waves, the resorts of Mui Ne and Phan Thiet are not suitable.

    On most beaches:

    • high waves,
    • strong winds,
    • sand fleas,
    • muddy water,
    • inconvenient for children to swim.

But here is a paradise for people who prefer the usual lying on the sand leisure on the beach:

    • windsurfers,
    • kiters,
    • kayakers,
    • extreme swimmers.

In general, the beaches in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet are not clean, but on the other hand, many of them have shade from closely growing palm trees. At the hotel beaches there are free sunbeds for hotel guests, towels are provided.

The central and hotel beaches are being cleaned, and on the distant ones you can see a lot of household garbage from both tourists and local residents. On most beaches, there are constant waves, the color of the water is gray or dirty green, the sea is muddy.

If you are a lover of clean calm water and leisurely measured swimming, then it is better to choose in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet hotel with pool.

The sea at these resorts in Vietnam is rough, especially from December to March, and it will be difficult for inexperienced swimmers to swim. However, beautiful nature, colorful local kitchen and the goodwill of the Vietnamese attract more and more tourists to these places, including from Russia.

Binh Chau in the south of Vietnam (a place where water smokes, crocodiles live and you can see many giant eggs) - health complex with mud baths and hot mineral springs not empty even in January.

There is an unmistakable sign good place to relax in any country, you just need to take a closer look: do the indigenous people rest at this resort. In Binh Chau you can always meet Vietnamese vacationers!

    How to get there?

If you are not traveling with an excursion group, then you can get to the complex on your own by driving from Saigon to Vung Tau. Buses go here from it, it is only 55 km, the journey will take about an hour. Another way to get from both Vung Tau and Phan Thiet (it is located a little further from Binh Chau, 70 km) is to take a taxi (cost - as agreed, from 50 to $100 per car).

    What is a resort?

Gray basalt rocks and stormy tropical flora, swimming pools, sports and playgrounds, restaurants. There are places to spend time in Binh Chau.

It is better to allocate a whole day for the "development" of Binh Chau - there are several hotels of different price categories, and inexpensive rooms look decent and comfortable. You can choose to live in a building with rooms or in a detached house.

Attention! Entrance to the territory of the complex is quite inexpensive - $2.

There are three pools with mineral water and different temperatures - starting from +37 degrees. Most hot spring Binh Chau - 82 degrees.

If you don’t want to swim, you can sit by special shallow pools and warm only your feet (however, these are also excellent “paddling pools” for kids who happily splash in them).

A beautiful white building with a pink tiled roof is allocated for massage treatments. Massage action is performed both indoors and on fresh air. The loungers are inside linen "tents" that protect from the sun.

The procedure with therapeutic mud is interesting: you do everything yourself by choosing one of the special huts covered with branches. You can relax and improve your health in complete solitude, you can - with your family or company, no one will interfere.

You are given a bag of dirt and a bottle of aromatic oil. In the hut you will find a bath (fill it yourself with water) and a bucket for mixing the given substances. Each house has a clock - to mark the time of procedures.

But the wealth of the park is not limited to pools and mud. It's nice to just walk here - very beautiful, calm and unusual. Exotic vegetation of unimaginable forms, an abundance of gazebos for relaxation, many sculptures in the most unexpected places: you look - a shaven-headed Vietnamese guy with a blissful physiognomy is sitting under a tree, you come closer - and he is wooden!

It is ideal to come here with children - they will be interested not only in the playgrounds with attractions. The kids are delighted with the lovely area with giant egg sculptures - children willingly climb into and on them. Curiously, next to the huge nests are sculptures of chickens in full size.

Well, the Vietnamese have a special relationship with eggs - according to a well-known legend, they came from them - that is, from the masonry laid down by the mountain fairy from the sea dragon Lac Long Quan. Perhaps it is they who are embodied in the sculptor's plan.

On the “egg” site there is a shop where you can buy a basket of eggs and boil them by lowering them on a rope in the hot spring of Binh Chau. And then eat - even in nature, even in a hotel!

Nearby is entertainment for children who do not like active games: clay figurines for painting with paints. Children like the park where the figures of the Chinese zodiac Sheng Xiao "live" - in the center there is always a sculpture of the "master" of the year.

    Who should visit the resort?

Binh Chau mineral springs will give relief to people suffering from:

    • poor functioning of the cardiovascular system;
    • disorders of the musculoskeletal system, musculoskeletal diseases;
    • breathing problems;
    • chronic disorders of the digestive system;
    • gynecological diseases;
    • diseases and disorders of the nervous system;
    • skin diseases;
    • intoxication of the body of various origins.

It is better to linger, staying in one of the local hotels, and undergo a course of treatment (this is from 7 to 10 procedures) - then the effect will be much more noticeable.

IMPORTANT! If you have chronic or infectious, viral, inflammatory diseases in the acute stage, diagnosed with oncology, acute heart failure, it is strongly not recommended to bathe in hot springs in order to avoid a sharp deterioration in the condition.

What's the use? Indications for treatment in Binh Chau

In addition to the listed morbid conditions, an indication for visiting Bin Chau can be a general decrease in vitality, chronic fatigue syndrome.

If you managed to escape to Binh Chau for just a day, it's okay: a feeling of renewal of the body and a surge vitality you can still feel. Already some thermal baths raise the tone, and smearing with therapeutic mud with mineral elements gives a very invigorating effect.

Mud must be allowed to dry on the skin, and these 20 minutes are a source of positive emotions, which also has a great effect on the body. Any man turns into Othello, a lady - into a beautiful native from adventure novels, and a company - into "four little black grimy imps." Traditionally, photo shoots are done in this form. Ten minutes of healthy laughter prolongs life!

Dried mud needs to be washed off in a mineral bath, and then go for a massage so that the body warms up additionally and the skin is saturated with essential oils (after that, you will feel as if you have thrown off the old and put on a brand new skin). Then experts advise to go to the beach and swim in the sea. But if you are too relaxed during the procedures and there is neither desire nor strength for sea bathing, it is better to refrain.

IMPORTANT! Know the measure - do not stay too long in hot mineral waters longer than 15 minutes, and in a mud bath - 45 minutes, it is harmful. In order not to spoil your pleasure, try not to get sunburned in the sun before visiting Binh Chau, so that the water does not bring painful sensations. Take towels, preferably darker ones (they are not given here) - and do not wear light bathing accessories, the healing mud will remain on them forever.

    Crocodile farm in Binh Chau

It is simply impossible to visit Binh Chau and not visit the “Lake of a Hundred Crocodiles”. It would seem that there is something to see - who has not seen a crocodile at least on TV? You can't call this reptile handsome. And, nevertheless - go: you definitely did not observe so many crocodiles at once! Those who wish are even allowed to feed them from a fishing rod, standing on the bridges.

Crocodiles meditate, spreading their paws and opening their mouths - the smile turns out to be the same. And if food falls from above, acrobatics begin. They climb over each other and try so hard to grab at least something that often it turns out to be the nose of a colleague who managed to grab a piece a moment earlier. Some lazy showdowns take place - there is enough food for everyone. The one who is smaller simply moves away, melancholy dragging his weighty tail, and the “winner” grins menacingly after him.

But this is not a zoo at all, but a completely commercial enterprise. Here, crocodiles do not eat people - on the contrary: in a restaurant you can try dishes from reptile meat. If visiting the farm is in your plans, save your money: you can buy a unique souvenir from crocodile skin, they are sold in shops on the farm. And be sure to read the rules for visiting the “Lake of a Hundred Crocodiles” on the fence!
