Bali wild beaches. Where to buy insurance in Bali - which is better

The island of Bali in the minds of our travelers seems to be a kind of paradise, where you can renounce the vain world and experience tropical happiness. This is true, but in order to fully enjoy your vacation, you need to carefully choose the right resort.

We will talk about the most popular beaches in Bali, explore the northern and South coast islands and try to understand where it is worth stopping and where not. In addition, you will find the top 3 most beautiful beaches on the island. Let's go!

The best places to swim in Bali - where to look

Bali is a stunning island, but there is no need to have any special illusions about this place. Get ready for the fact that the landscapes "from the postcard" will not match what you saw in reality. Many are disappointed in Bali, calling it a noisy, dirty and boring island, but this is only part of the truth. It’s just that people who went on vacation chose a “not their own” resort. To prevent this from happening to you, read our article.

Swimming in Bali depends on the tide schedule.

Most of Bali's beaches are either for surfing or swimming. Combining these activities is problematic, since surfers need a high wave, and ordinary tourists need a gentle and safe descent. You will have to understand the following things:

  1. Almost all beaches are municipal (free admission, no order).
  2. Every year the coast gets dirtier.
  3. You will constantly encounter locals.

And where, then, are the best beaches for swimming, you ask? They are. You just have to search hard.

South coast resorts

Bali washed by stormy waters indian ocean, so the rest will depend on the tide schedule. There is also a significant difference between north and south, which we will now tell.

The southern tip of Bali is replete with golden and white sandbars. It is worth paying attention to the following resorts:

  • Bukit Peninsula (elite beaches of Balangan, Padang-Padang, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Dreamland);
  • southeast (Padang Bai, Sanur);
  • southwest (Canggu, Legian, Kuta).

Holiday conditions on the elite Bukit depend on the season. During the summer, the locals clean everything up in preparation for the influx of tourists, while during the winter, you'll encounter algae and debris.

For guaranteed enjoyment of the calm waters surrounding Bukit, head to Nusa Dua, where Geger Beach lies, which you will learn about later.

North Bali

This part of the island consists entirely of volcanic beaches. There is no white sand here, but the water is distinguished by an increased “level of calmness”. The reason is simple - the north of the island is not washed by the ocean, but by the waters of the Bali Sea.

The nature here is beautiful, and most of the resorts are concentrated near Buleleng. The most popular here are coastal villages with adjacent beach strips. Here they are:

  • Anturan;
  • Tukad Mungga;
  • Temukus;
  • Kalibukbuk.

The listed beaches merged into a single resort, called Lovina. The infrastructure here is not prohibitive, but everything you need is there. The main advantage of Lovina is the small influx of travelers during the summer months.

The northeast is famous for snorkeling and diving. local beaches covered with black volcanic sand, but there are many diving centers.

West and East

You will not see beautiful sunsets in the east, and the beaches here are tiny, not crowded. The sand is excellent. There are many suitable places for diving (Pasir Putih Beach, Padangbai Beach).

There are fewer resorts in the west. Connoisseurs of the unknown flock here, chasing bright adventures. Rocks and rocky beaches - this is what western landscapes look like. Lovers of good swimming have nothing to do here.

Popular beaches of Bali on the map

You already know that the bathing regime will coincide with the tide schedule. We have marked on the map the main resorts of Bali. Be sure to check the local tide schedule before planning your trip.

Balangan beach (Pantai Balang an) is located on the Bukit Peninsula, in South Kuta - not far from the village of the same name. It is 25 kilometers from Denpasar. One of the most popular places for tourists in the northern part of Bali is Lovina beach (Lovina beac h). It is located in the province of Buleleng, 9 km from Singaraja. Like most resort areas, until the middle of the last century, it was an ordinary fishing village, until tourists were attracted by its coast. Today, on the entire island of Bali, Legian Beach is considered one of the best. And now I'll tell you why.

Whi te Sand beach (White Sand Beach), or Virgi n Beach (Virgin Beach) in Bali is located near Chandidasa, between the villages of Bugbug (Bug bug) and Perasi (Perasi). This is one of the few places in the east of the island where the coast is covered with white sand. Low waves allow you to swim and snorkel. There are few people here, since the beach is far from popular tourist routes.

Keramas beach (Keramas beach, or pantai Keramas) is located in the southeast of Bali, not far from Sanur, in the Gianyar regency, Sukawati district. It is considered one of the best for surfing. The infrastructure is well developed here: there is a bar, a club with a restaurant, several hotels and even a dolphinarium. Rural landscapes surround the beach.

Nusa Dua is a fashionable resort and beach in Bali. It is located in the southeastern part of the Bukit peninsula, along the coast of the same name, 10 km from the Bali airport Ngurah Rai. This resort has everything: clean sandy beaches, and cozy gazebos, and a protected area, and luxury hotels, and secluded villas.

Jimbaran (Djimbaran, Jimbaran) is a resort in the southwest of the Bukit Peninsula in Bali (Indonesia). It is located in Jimbaran Bay (Teluk Jimbaran, Jimbaran Bay) and is considered popular place travelers thanks to the successful geographic location and well developed infrastructure. In addition to natural beauties, the widest selection of seafood and dishes from them is considered a feature of the resort, as this place is the center of fishing in Bali.

Pandawa beach (Pantai Pandawa) is located in the southern part of Bali, on the Bukit Peninsula. The coast is lined with white sand and surrounded by high limestone cliffs. Until recently, this was a place unknown to tourists. Now beautiful view on the azure ocean beckons here and local residents, and visitors. Unlike other beaches on the island, you can go kayaking in the Indian Ocean here.

General description of the beaches

According to the laws of Indonesia, the beaches in Bali cannot be redeemed as private property, because most of them are public. Only a few prestigious first-line hotels have protected coastal zones where outsiders are not allowed. On the island you can find both crowded and secluded beaches. There are also long sandy strips stretching for several kilometers, and very tiny stretches of the coast, where you can go only at low tide. Some beaches are popular with locals, while others are visited mainly by tourists.

To choose perfect beach for relaxation, you need to know the following:

  • What is its appearance
  • What is it suitable for

Now let's deal with each of these points.

What do Bali beaches look like?

You can find very different coastlines on the island. I would suggest visiting several beaches to better understand the variety of the island.

But when choosing a specific place to stay, you should pay attention to the following points:

  • sand color
  • wave height
  • Cleanliness
  • Infrastructure

So, here are the main differences between the beaches, in terms of their appearance.

Sand

The beaches of the island do not always correspond to the tourist's ideas of a tropical paradise. The sand here is of different colors:

  • White
  • yellow or golden
  • Grey
  • Black

There are two active volcanoes on the island. The ash that is formed during their eruption ends up on the beaches. The east coast is closest to the volcanoes, so the sand is black here. In the north, it has a more gray tint. In general, in Bali, white sand beaches can only be found on the Bukit Peninsula and small islands located nearby (Nusa Penida, Lembongan, Gili). On the south coast - in Kuta and Seminyak - the sand is yellow-gray. In Sanur and Nusa Dua - white and golden, but it is not natural, but imported.

The structure of the sand is also different. Black volcanic - mostly small, sticks to a wet body and hands. Although there are beaches with rather coarse black sand, resembling very small pebbles. White sand on Bukit is both large and small. Gray is made up of different factions. In addition to sandy beaches, there are rocky ones on the east coast of the island. They are covered with black cobblestones of various sizes.

Waves

It is not for nothing that the island is called a mecca for surfers. Due to the special structure of the bottom and coral reefs near the coast, rather high waves form on the local coasts.

They are divided into three types:

  1. Closeouts (close-out) - closed waves, suitable for riding in foam, quite dangerous when their height reaches two meters or more
  2. Gentle waves (Spilling waves) - characteristic of the coast with a slight slope of the bottom, do not form pipes, suitable for beginner surfers
  3. Plunging waves - fast waves that break into a tube, suitable for advanced and professional surfers

The height and type of the wave depend on the tides and the direction of the wind. In the southwestern part of the island, the waves are higher during the dry season, as southeasterly winds blow here at this time. On the opposite coast, the ocean is more agitated during the rainy season, due to southwesterly winds. High waves are more typical for the southern tip of the island. The best in this sense are the beaches of the Bukit Peninsula, Kuta and Seminyak.

However, you can find calm places with small waves. Most of them are located in the north of the island, near the resort of Lovina. There are good places on the east and southeast coasts - first of all, this is the resort of Sanur. There are low waves on some beaches of the Bukit Peninsula - Padang Padang, Jimbar en, Nusa Dua.

Purity

Interestingly, you can find completely opposite reviews about the same beach. Some visitors write that it is almost perfectly clean, others talk about terrible dirt. In fact, it all depends on the location, infrastructure and season.

Conventionally, I would divide the beaches by cleanliness into several categories:

  • The protected beaches near the hotels are the cleanest. Garbage is removed from the coast several times a day.
  • Public beaches with well-developed infrastructure are quite clean. Garbage is removed in the morning and evening.
  • Public beaches with poor infrastructure - cleanliness depends on the time of day and season. There is less garbage in the morning than in the evening, it is very dirty during the rainy season.
  • Wild secluded beaches - there are both clean and dirty - it all depends on the place and season. But on such coasts, garbage left by tourists is less common. Most of the time it's just algae.

It is important to note that during the peak of the rainy season (from late January to early March), almost all beaches are dirty. The sea brings a lot of garbage, and the coast does not have time to clean up even on prestigious resorts. Of course, tourists who visited one of the beaches at this time will not leave the best reviews about it.

There is one more nuance - according to local religion, the ocean is considered sacred place. People come here to make offerings to the gods. Fishermen without this rite do not go to sea. On many beaches you can see small altars where the locals bring their ritual gifts in the form of wreaths of flowers, herbs, twigs and fruits. Especially a lot of offerings are brought to the Balinese New Year when religious ceremonies are traditionally held by the sea. Over time, the wreaths dry up, are carried by the wind, float away to the sea, but then come back.

But the remains of ritual offerings cannot be compared with what vacationers leave on the shore. Bottles, bags, plastic utensils - all this at high tide is again on the coast. Some beaches are equipped with concrete piers. Garbage, adjoining these piers, lingers for a long time, making it difficult to swim.

Infrastructure

The infrastructure of the beaches on the island is very different. In the protected areas near the hotels, the principle of "all inclusive" applies, here you can find any services. Many public beaches with fully or partially developed infrastructure. There are also completely wild places where there is nothing but sea and sand.

According to the development of infrastructure, the beaches are conditionally divided into the following types:

  • Well developed infrastructure
On such beaches, you can rent sun loungers, umbrellas, surfboards, equipment for diving, snorkeling and other types of recreation. They offer a lot here interesting entertainment- beach volleyball, banana rides, jet skis and much more. The infrastructure also includes lifeguard stations, showers, and toilets. There are cafes and restaurants near the coast or on the beach itself. All places of this type are paid, prices fluctuate widely. AT separate category include protected beaches near hotels, where outsiders are not allowed.
The beaches with the best infrastructure are located in the resorts of Kuta, Seminyak, Nusa Dua and Sanur. In the east and north of the island, similar places can only be found near hotels.

  • Medium infrastructure
These beaches provide many of the services listed above. But there may be no lifeguard station, sun lounger rentals and recreation equipment, sometimes there is no shower or toilet. Cafes are represented by a small bar counter, a shop with local dishes or fast food.
Beaches with medium infrastructure can be found anywhere on the island. Most of them are in the east and north (in Lovina), there are such places on the Bukit peninsula, the islands of Lembongan and Nusa Penida

  • Wild beaches where there is no infrastructure at all
There are a lot of wild or secret beaches in Bali. They are located on the east coast as well as on the Bukit Peninsula. There are several secluded spots on Gili, Lembongan and Nusa Penida. Tourists do not know about some of them at all.

What types of recreation are local beaches suitable for?

In fact, you can do anything here. The beaches of Bali are suitable for swimming, surfing, diving and snorkeling, various sports, and just for walking along the coast.

Here are the main types of recreation:

  • Surfing and its varieties (windsurfing, bodyboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing)
The best places for surfing are the south coast of the island, including the Bukit peninsula. At the same time, I recommend going to the southwestern beaches during the dry season, and to the southeastern ones during the rainy season. It has to do with the direction of the wind.
Kitesurfing (boarding behind a boat) and windsurfing (boarding with a sail) are more developed in the north, in Sanur, Tanjung Benoa and Nusa Dua. The waves here are small, therefore they are suitable for this type of beach entertainment.
  • Diving and snorkeling
The best beaches for snorkeling are in the north (kur ort Lovina) and east of the island (Amed, Candidasa, Tulamben). There are great places on the nearby islands.
  • Swimming
Not all beaches are suitable for swimming due to high waves or rocky bottom. You can swim in some places on the Bukit Peninsula, on the Gili Islands. by the most popular resorts in this regard, Sanur, Nusa Dua and Lovina are considered.
  • Sports beach activities (volleyball, jet ski, flyboard ding, etc.)
The main centers of sports entertainment are the beaches of Tanjung Benoa, Nusa Dua and Sanur. On them not big waves and well-developed infrastructure. There are also many beach activities in Kuta, Seminyak.
  • preferences. Determine for yourself 1-2 main criteria by which you will look for a beach. When you find several options, you can pay attention to other characteristics that are less important to you. If you follow this principle, there is a chance to find the best beach for yourself.

A paradise vacation on the islands is almost always associated with snow-white beaches and the azure sea. Bali is no exception. Hundreds of tourists come here every year to spend their holidays on the ocean. A significant part of Bali's beaches are unsuitable for swimming due to high waves and strong currents, but there are those whose beauty is breathtaking, and swimming in them is a pleasure.

He is one of the best beaches on Bali. Located in a picturesque bay, it provides excellent conditions for a comfortable stay. The length of the coastline is about 5 kilometers. The sand on the shore is white and soft, walking on it is a pleasure. The beach is wide enough to accommodate a large number of tourists.

Due to its shallow depth and smooth entry into the ocean, Jimbaran Beach is great for families, including those with small children. The bottom is sandy, you can not worry that you will get hurt when entering the water. Another advantage is cleanliness, here they carefully monitor the order.

The infrastructure is well developed within Jimbaran. Accommodation is provided only modern hotels. Meals are organized in cafes and restaurants, most of which are located near the shore. The basis of the diet is seafood dishes. Every day, local fishermen deliver fresh catch, therefore, there is no doubt about the quality of the products.

Dreamland beach

Dreamland Beach is especially popular among tourists. Pleasant to the touch light-colored sand allows you to enjoy evening walks along the coast. There is a good infrastructure, which is developing rapidly. For the convenience of tourists, there are umbrellas and sun loungers that can be rented for a fee.

There are a sufficient number of cafes and restaurants on the beach, where you can try different cuisines of the world. Due to the large waves, the beach is not suitable for swimming. Mostly those who live by surfing rest here. The hotel fund is represented by a large hotel, several villas and bungalows.

Padang Padang beach

It is located in the southwestern part of Bukit. The beach is located next to the rocks. This is unique place, here you can swim in the ocean and ride a surfboard at the same time. The length of the beach is no more than 100 m. To get to the beach, you need to go down the cliff.

Padang Padang Beach is popular with filmmakers and photographers. Clips were filmed here, as well as the famous film “Eat. Pray. Love." Therefore, the beach has become the most popular in Bali.

The first surfers appeared here long before Padang Padang was mastered by tourists. In 2004, international surfing competitions were held here. Not far from the coast, a special type of waves is formed, called a "pipe".

Bingin Beach

A small beach located almost in the southernmost part of Bali. It will not be difficult to get to it from both Kuta and Denpasar. The beach is covered with light sand, on which turquoise waves gently roll. Bingin is a great place for sunsets. Hundreds of tourists come here every evening to enjoy the most beautiful sight.

If you decide to swim here, then it’s better to come at high tide, then the waves are not so high, this allows you to swim at least a little from the coast. If there are no red flags near the shore, then you can swim even at low tide, but you need to be careful, as the water can be a large number of stones.

A lot of surfers come to the beach. There are a variety of accommodation options available. More cheap housing located at the bottom of the beach.

Melasti beach

Although this beach is little explored, this does not prevent it from being one of the most beautiful on the island. It is located in the south of Bali and is considered good place for family holidays. In addition, lovers and elderly people come here. Due to the beautiful scenery, newlyweds often visit the beach to take a photo shoot.

Melasti Beach is unofficially divided into three parts. Due to the wide coastline, a sufficiently large number of tourists can be accommodated here, and most importantly, each of them will feel as comfortable as possible.

There is one interesting attraction on the beach - the Kori Agung gate. Due to high waves, the beach is not suitable for swimming, but the water in the ocean is very clear. Most of the vacationers gather on the beach in the afternoon, so if you want a more secluded holiday, then come here in the morning. The length of the coastline is about 1 kilometer, on all sides the coast is surrounded by rocks, which gives it some kind of peculiarity.

Pandawa beach

This is another beautiful white sand beach in southern Bali. Pandava is well equipped, sun loungers and umbrellas are installed along the coastline. The coastline is wide, but not the entire area of the beach can be used for swimming. In places, red flags have been set up, which symbolize the ban on water procedures.

On the left side of Pandava Beach there is a cozy gazebo, it can be used for beautiful photo shoots and friendly conversations, admiring parallel views of the ocean. There are not many tourists on the beach, which allows you to enjoy a more secluded pastime. It is best to come to the coast at low tide, this will allow you to fully enjoy the water procedures, as the waves during this period become minimal.

Tourist infrastructure is located on the right. There are several cafes, shops, and you can rent a kayak there. Another plus of Pandava is the relatively low cost of food in a cafe, but you need to be prepared for the fact that the basis of the menu is national dishes.

nikko beach

The beach is located near Nusa Dua, despite this, not everyone has heard of it. It houses the eponymous 5-star hotel. There are almost never high tides on Nikko, which allows both adults and children to swim here. The infrastructure is poorly developed, as a small number of tourists rest on the coast.

But if you decide to spend the day in this paradise, be sure that everything you need will be provided for your comfort. For tourists, umbrellas with sun loungers are installed, there are several cafes and shops, massage services are provided, and there is also a surf school. The coast is covered with white sand, the water in the ocean is clean.

Geger beach

It's another one great beach located near Nusa Dua. Not far from the coast is coral reef, thanks to which the ocean remains quiet and calm almost at any time of the year. Due to the fact that Geger Beach faces east, a light sea breeze always blows here, and the water in the ocean is slightly warmer than in other similar parts of Bali. The entrance to the water is smooth, the bottom is shallow, you can safely come here with children. For the convenience of tourists, sun loungers are installed.

A strip of cafes and restaurants stretches along the coast, serving local and international cuisine. Unlike other beaches on the island, topless sunbathing is allowed on Geger. The tourist infrastructure is developed at a high level, only it is not located along the entire coastline. But if you wish, you can always find a cozy cafe.

Nusa Dua beach

It is the most prestigious beach in Bali. It has a length of about 3 kilometers, within which the best 5-star hotels of the island are concentrated. coastline forms light sand, cleanliness is carefully monitored here and even in the low season the coast remains clean.

Nusa Dua Beach has everything you need to relax. First-class restaurants open their doors here, where you can taste dishes from different nations of the world. Along the shore there are sunbeds with umbrellas. During the day, a huge number of entertainments are available, including rental water skiing, wakeboard, surf and more. On the beach you will never see annoying traders, any kind of trade in this region is punishable by law.

Bias Tugal Beach

If you are a true romantic and want to enjoy the Balinese sunrise, then this beach is what you need. It is located in the southeast of the island. This beach is a great place for diving and snorkeling. There are almost never high waves here, and undersea world amazes with its beauty and variety.

Beaches in West Bali

Beach infrastructure is not developed in the western part of the island. Basically, the coast is a rocky area. Despite the fact that it is almost impossible to swim on the western beaches, it is perfect place to enjoy the pristine nature, do luxury photos rocks and the ocean, relax alone with nature and silence.

Swimming beaches in Bali

Tourists who prefer swimming should look for beaches with calm and clean waves, fine sand, safe bottom and coast.

Not all Bali beaches can boast of such positive qualities for swimming. Often the fault is that there are volcanoes on the island, the ashes of which are strewn all over the surroundings. From this coast many beaches are not very delectable. Due to the action of volcanoes, the water itself was partially affected, it became cloudy. In addition, there are much more in Bali great places for quality surfing than for swimming. This is due to large and strong waves, which are in no way compatible with swimming in the water.

Beaches with crystal clear water and low wave activity are excellent for swimming. According to the description, almost all the eastern beaches of Bali are suitable: Amed, Tulamben, Padangbey, Chandidasa. The following beaches are also convenient for diving: Tejakula, Seririt and Pemuterran.

If we talk about swimming without diving with equipment, then, of course, you need to take into account the coverage of the beach itself, so that the sand is fine and pleasant in color, and also without a lot of volcanic ash and pebbles. Given these parameters, the following beaches can be distinguished: Nusa Dua, Sanur, Dreamland, Padang-Padang and White Sand Bitch. On these beaches, in addition to the purest water, you can enjoy clean air, the complete absence of waves or their small presence, swimming here is safe and a pleasure.

If you are not embarrassed by sand mixed with dark ash, then you can visit Amed Beach for swimming. The water surrounding the beach is also great for swimming with the whole family.

Considering all of the above options, it is hard to give preference to one of them, as each has its own pros and cons. It depends not only on the natural component. Each beach has its own infrastructure: somewhere it is more suitable for noisy entertainment, somewhere for cultural recreation, and somewhere to create a romantic atmosphere. As a rule, on different beaches, different people, somewhere the number of Russians prevails, somewhere they are almost impossible to find. Therefore, the choice of a beach for swimming often depends on individual preferences and desires.

Bali white sand beaches

The beaches of Bali are not the most attractive when compared, for example, with Hawaiian beaches. But, despite this, there is where to have a good time. Unfortunately, not all beaches have white or even light sand, many are covered with dark dust or mixed with it. In this regard, they have not the most best view. There are many beaches with a lot of pebbles or rocky areas off the coast. Such places are more suitable for diving, but even then not all, but only with weak waves.

There are beaches with powerful waves where any swimming is prohibited for safety reasons. But such places create a romantic view, where you can watch how the waves break on the rocks.

White sand beaches of Bali: White Sand Beach (Bias Tugel), Nusa Dua, Sanur.

Basically, all beautiful beaches become an object for swimming, so you can read more about them later when we describe swimming beaches in more detail.

Bali photos of beaches and hotels

The beauty and comfort of some beaches directly depends on the nearby hotels, as they make no small effort to ensure cleanliness. In addition to the ecology, hotel owners are also concerned about the pastime of tourists; for this, various entertainment complexes, shops, bars, spas, exchange offices, etc. are being built near the coast. Of course, where everything is there to relax as much as possible, there will be a lot of people. Many hotels monitor the infrastructure of the beach, the more famous ones include: "Jemeluk Bay" and "Lovina", "Kuta".

As mentioned above, for comfortable swimming, the beaches must have the appropriate characteristics for convenience. The names of the most suitable ones were also “voiced”, but from some of the names and general description You can hardly understand whether this place suits you or not. Therefore, we offer you more detailed information.

White Sand Beach Bali

You should start from the most attractive and popular beach with white and gray sand - White Sand, located on east side islands. There are many hotels on the beach for every taste and color, as they say. These include both expensive five-star hotels and simpler hotels. The location of the beach is only a quarter of an hour from Center Point Pier. The presence of "White" in the name of the beach for a reason. Previously, the beach consisted only of small white sand, but recently it has become more and more mixed with pebbles, from which the color has changed a little.

The length of the beach reaches 3 kilometers, therefore, despite the large number of tourists, you can easily find a free place. Pleased with the depth of the sea, which is great for children. To get to deeper places, you will have to stomp towards low tide for a long time. Conventionally, the beach can be divided into northern and southern parts. The first one is quieter and less crowded. The second has a large number of people and infrastructure.

Many bars and cafes make the beach pleasant for gatherings. There are also a sufficient number of ATMs, pharmacies, shops, hotels, spas, karaoke bars. They help to navigate in Russian. In the evenings you can see fascinating fire shows.

Beach Blue Lagoon Bali (Blue Lagoon beach)

It's a small insanely beautiful place blue Lagoon, 500 meters long. The sand is fine, yellow, in places you can see volcanic dust, but it doesn’t spoil a special look, on the contrary, it looks more elegant. The water is clear with a blue tint, which simply fascinates the spirit. It is better not to leave children unattended, since here, although the waves are small, they are present. It won't take long to reach the depth. For a change, you can climb the volcanic formations that are located on both sides of the beach.

In the absence of waves, the beach looks especially romantic. There is a hotel and a bar nearby. The only negative is the garbage that is washed ashore after a storm.

Beach Jemeluk Bay Bali

Quiet, calm crescent-shaped bay. The surroundings are covered with lush greenery and the water is crystal clear. The beach is great for snorkeling: plenty of marine life, corals of unique beauty, at the bottom you can find interesting sunken things.

For lovers of sunbathing on the shore is not very good news, as the surface is littered with small pebbles. An excellent place is also suitable for ordinary swimming, as there are weak tides and waves, warm and clear water, well-developed infrastructure, thanks to the provision of a nearby five-star hotel.

The depth starts relatively quickly, so those who can't swim well, it's better to stay close to the shore. But even along it you can get great pleasure from the rest. From here opens beautiful view to the sunset, which can be observed from a small boat that is rented.

Due to the dark color of the beach, there are not many people here, so you can have a good rest with your soulmate or the whole family.

Dreamland beach Bali

Great place to take sun baths. The sand here is soft and beautiful. True, it is unlikely that you will be able to plunge into the sea, since the waves are often strong. But at low tide, you can pick up the moment when the sea calms down to plunge headlong into this beauty. There are a sufficient number of bungalows and restaurants on the coast. The infrastructure is not badly developed and is improving every year.

Thanks to strong waves, surfing is well developed. From the beach side, the view of the ocean is magnificent, the water is clear with a turquoise tint. For convenience, throughout the beach there are umbrellas and sun loungers that are offered for rent. There are a lot of young people on the beach who spend their time surfing.

From Kuta can be reached within half an hour. The roads are of good quality, for convenience, you can order cars or bikes for rent.

Green Bowl Beach Bali

This beach is perfect for those who are tired of noisy restaurants and bars, as there is no infrastructure here. The golden sandy strip of the beach is located under the cliffs. The water is emerald green and shallow. Although there are no services on the beach that monitor cleanliness, there will be no complaints about this.

But it should be noted that relaxing on the beach is only available at low tide, otherwise it is completely under water. Some people, especially those who do not like a lot of movement, can get tired of the long descent / ascent to the beach.

Green Ball is located on the Bukit Peninsula, and if your hotel is in Kuta, you will have to get there within an hour using a bike. By taxi, the journey will take less time.

Closer to the rocks, algae often “nails” in waves, the view of this does not get worse, but even better. You can have a great photo session. Although many consider the beach dangerous due to strong waves, this is not always the case. Sometimes near the shore the waves are weak and pleasant. The water temperature is acceptable, up to 26 degrees.

Bias Tugel Beach Bali

The snow-white beach "Bias Tugel" with a minimum amount of infrastructure pleases people with the opportunity to take a beautiful tan and swim in the shallow emerald waters. To the right of the beach there are volcanic "growths" on which the waves gracefully break, creating a kind of spray fountain. Particularly pleasing are the small depressions in which water collects, creating something like bathtubs with impeccably clean and transparent water.

Nearby there are restaurants and cafes, as well as a port from which you can cross to other islands. The beach itself is secretive and not immediately noticeable. There are not many people, especially in the morning, a decent crowd gathers closer to dinner, but there is enough space for everyone, although the beach is not very big - a maximum of 400 meters.

Kuta beach

The popular gray-white beach is always full of people, it is more lonely only in the mornings. In the evening you can admire the beautiful sunset. Despite the incessant waves, many people express a desire to swim. The sand is fine and soft, which allows you to have a good rest on the shore. The water is clear, turquoise. Getting to the place is very easy, as it is located near the tourist center of Bali, where there are many hotels, shops, cafes, spas, bars and other necessary and useful establishments.

After meeting an indescribable sunset, you can head to nightclubs, where you have the opportunity to stay until the morning. Prices on the beach are relatively lower than in others beach areas. There are a lot of young people, some of them are closely involved in surfing.

The coast stretches for thousands of meters, but it is advisable to come to the beach early in the morning, because if you come later, you may encounter the problem of choosing a place. There are really a lot of people here. But thanks to the developed infrastructure, no one has to be bored, everyone will find something to their liking.

Golden sand reaches tall trees where you can hide from scorching sun. But a place under the shade is always a tidbit of the beach, so be prepared for the fact that it will already be occupied by someone.

Bali is not only beautiful beaches, but also amazing sights, so I suggest you read the article Bali Attractions, which will tell you about all interesting places on the island with detailed instructions by visit and symbols on the map.

As you know, Bali is famous all over the world for its snow-white, almost heavenly, beaches and turquoise ocean. But there are places on this island that are radically different from the paradise image, even rather the opposite ...

The thing is that two large active volcanoes Gunung Agung (3142 m) and Gunung Batur (1717 m) “live” in Bali, periodically making adjustments to the daily life of the island.

It was thanks to the eruptions of these volcanoes that the famous beaches with black volcanic sand appeared on the island. This sand is nothing more than cooled lava, crushed by water into microscopic particles.

Such beaches are located mainly in the north-east of the island, although they are also found in other places. The most famous of them is Lovina Beach. Located in the north of the island, it is considered one of the the most beautiful beaches on Bali. The fact is that it is washed by the waters of the sea, not the ocean, and there are practically no waves there. So volcanic sand there is a nice bonus.

I decided to look at the volcanic sand in some little-known place, randomly arriving at Masceti Beach somewhere in the eastern part of the island.

It turned out that Masketi Beach is a place forgotten by God. You will not meet tourists here during the day with fire. Is that the inhabitants of the surrounding villages come to breathe fresh air and enjoy the waves.

By the way, the waves were of such a size that the desire to swim disappeared immediately and did not appear again.

Romance!

Toward evening, again, for the locals, mobile cafes gather on the coast.

In the distance, a few surfers tirelessly conquered the ocean waves.

Another visitor to the beach.

Here I noticed how a group of local residents were actively digging in the sand, and put the finds in small buckets.

It turns out that they choose small, the same shape, pebbles, brought ashore by the tide.

Then these pebbles are used in decorating sidewalks, curbs, foundations of houses and other construction projects.

The work is painstaking, but it turns out beautifully.

Since the classic beach holiday completely unsuitable for this beach, all that remained was to wander along the unusual sand and look at the local landscapes.

It turned out - there are such "paradise" places on the "paradise" islands.
