The largest ships and aircraft (28 photos). The largest ships in the world

Shipbuilding began to develop in ancient times. From century to century, only the shape and size of ships changed. But now the largest ships in the world do not cease to amaze people in modern ports.

Natives of the Scandinavian Peninsula, the Vikings, almost always plowed the sea. Their descendants are still considered leaders in shipbuilding.

Norway, Tanker Knock Nevis, length 458 meters

Norwegian tanker Knock Nevis has a length of 458.45 meters, a width of 69 meters, a draft with a load of 24.61 meters. Dimensions allow you to call it the largest water vessel in the world. Its deadweight is 564,763 tons (4.1 million barrels of oil), and maximum speed, which the tanker can develop is 13 knots, stopping distance is 10.2 kilometers. It was built in 1979 in Yokosuka, Japan, by order of a Greek shipowner. The next owner decided to enlarge the ship. As a result, it was cut and built up, additional sections were added to the hull.

Initially, the tanker ran between the US and the Middle East. But in 1986, it began to be used as a floating terminal for reloading and storing oil during the war between Iraq and Iran. In 1988, Knock Nevis was badly damaged after an attack by Iraqi aircraft.

After the war, the ship found shelter in Brunei and flew under the Norwegian flag. After the repair, the tanker changed its name twice, was Happy Giant and Jahre Viking.

After the passage of a law in Europe and the United States banning the use of tankers with a single-walled side (the thickness of Knock Nevis is only 3.5 centimeters), the ship was rebuilt into a "floating storage unit". And then he was returned to the original name. The tanker has now been abandoned Indian coast and awaiting disposal.

Denmark, container ship Emma Maersk, length 396.8 meters

The Danish container ship Emma Maersk is 396.84 meters long and 63.1 meters wide. Now the ship is called the world's largest container ship (it can carry up to 11 thousand containers at the same time). Emma Maersk was built in 2006, the owner of the shipbuilding company Arnold Maerks named it after his deceased wife. Later, seven more similar ships were built.

Emma Maersk can reach speeds of up to 31 knots. And about 170 thousand nautical miles (7.5 distances around the planet) pass annually, cruising between Europe and Far East through the Suez Canal (for such a large vessel, the Panama Canal is closed).

The container ship was dedicated a coin of 20 crowns in Denmark.

Bahamas, cruise ship Oasisoftheseas, length 360 m

The first Oasis-class cruising vessel sails the Bahamas. At the time of construction, it became the largest passenger liner in the world. It was replaced only by a ship of this class, Allure of the Seas, which is 5 centimeters larger. Oasisoftheseas weighs 45 thousand tons, consists of 48 thousand parts, its length is 360 meters (by the way, the famous Titanic was 269 meters long, 53 meters high), the maximum speed is 24 knots.

Allure of the Seas was built by a Finnish shipyard for the American shipping company. The contract for the construction of the first vessel was signed in early 2006. The project was originally called Project Genesis. modern name became known only in 2008.

The ship was laid down on June 19, 2007, a year later the construction dock was flooded, but the additional equipment did not stop. Tests began in June 2009 in the Baltic and ended a couple of weeks later. In October 2009, Allure of the Seas sailed to her home port in Fort Lauderdale. During the journey along Baltic Sea, he barely passed the Great Belt Bridge (passage is allowed for vessels up to 65 meters). To do this, we had to retract the exhaust pipes, increase the speed to the maximum in order to increase the draft of the stern on the go. As a result, about half a meter remained from the ship to the bridge anyway.

The cruise ship was baptized on November 30, 2009 at the port of registry, and it departed for its first flight on December 5. At the same time, calls to the ports of Sint Maarten, the Bahamas and St. Thomas were announced on the cruise. Only they could take such a large vessel.

Real sea hotel

By the way, on such a huge ship you can live like on land. There is ice rink, casino, theater, night club, discotheque, jazz club, carousel pools, water park, shops and boutiques, restaurants and bars, sports clubs with basketball and volleyball courts and even a golf course. And that is not all. Passengers can rest in the shade of trees (there are about 12 thousand of them).

UK, liner Queen Mary 2, length 345 meters

One of the world's largest passenger ships was commissioned in early 2004. He was launched in France at the shipyards of Saint-Nazaire. Queen Mary 2 is 76 meters longer than the Titanic.

The liner was named after the Queen Mary, which, at one time, was named after the wife of King George V of Britain, Mary of Teck.

Built Queen Mary in Saint-Nazeren shipyard Chantiers de l'Atlantique. Ile de France, Normandy and France were assembled there.

The liner set off on its first trip on January 10, 2007 from the American Fort Lauderdale and finished there 81 days later. This trip is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as a trip around the world of the largest ship for passengers. There were almost half a thousand people on board, some of them paid an additional 100 thousand dollars for a round-the-world trip.

Interestingly, during the passage of New York, passengers on the upper deck can look the Statue of Liberty straight in the eye.

On board this ship there is everything you need for an idle life. 1310 cabins, 4 swimming pools, a huge library on the sea (800 thousand books), a helicopter pad, an Internet cafe, 6 restaurants, 12 galleys, laundries, a tennis court, a mini-golf course, the only planetarium on the sea, a theater, 2 cinemas, and same way shopping center, casino, sports club and even a ballroom.

USA, aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65), length 342 meters

This is the first aircraft carrier with a nuclear power plant. It was laid down at the end of 1957 and commissioned in 1961.

The largest warship in the world has a length of 342.3 meters. Nuclear fuel from one load is enough for 13 years of operation, and during this time the aircraft carrier is able to travel about 1 million miles.

The total cost of the aircraft carrier reached 451 million dollars. And it was precisely because of such a high price that serial construction did not begin, although it was originally planned to assemble 5 more Enterprise brothers.

In early 1962, the aircraft carrier made its maiden voyage. Then they were commanded by Vincent DePoe.

The first "baptism of fire" occurred during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The ship became part of the US Second Fleet and participated in the naval blockade of Cuba. Then he served for several years in the Mediterranean. In 1964, the Enterprise circumnavigated the world with three nuclear-powered ships.

In 1965, the ship became part of the Seventh Fleet and sailed to South East Asia. He became the first ship with a nuclear control system, which took part in the hostilities (Vietnam War). The aircraft carrier set a record - exactly 165 sorties per day.

On January 14, 1969, one of the rockets self-launched on board. She hit the fuel tank, which spilled, followed by explosions of aerial bombs and erratic scattering of rockets. As a result, 27 people died, 343 were injured, 15 aircraft were destroyed. Damage was estimated at $6.4 million. In the early 1980s, the Enterprise survived the removal of the SCANFAR radar and a reactor overhaul. The aircraft carrier was decommissioned on December 1, 2012.

Today we will talk about the largest ships on the planet: passenger, military, cargo, industrial. Some of them are so large that they cannot enter the canals and straits, and most of the world's ports are closed to them.

We have selected seven of the most amazing giant ships. Five of them have recently been set sail, two have already been written off, and you can even buy a ticket for one. Each of them is a champion in their category.

The longest ship on earth

Length - 488 m, width - 74 m, deadweight - 600,000 tons. Launched in 2013.

Most big ship on the planet and the largest floating structure ever created by man is the Prelude FLING. It is equal in length to the famous Wailing Wall in Israel. On board could accommodate five full-size football fields or 175 Olympic swimming pools. However, its purpose is different: it is the world's first floating production and liquefaction plant. natural gas.

The vessel belongs to the Dutch-British oil and gas company Shell, built in South Korea by Samsung Heavy Industries, and will work off the coast of Australia, extracting gas from the ocean floor - the first drilling is scheduled for 2017. In the strict sense of the word, this is not quite a ship: Prelude will not be able to sail under its own power, and it will have to be towed to the workplace. But this monster is unsinkable and indestructible: it was created specifically for service in the “cyclone zone” in the open ocean and is able to withstand even the fifth, highest category hurricane. The planned service life is 25 years.

Petronas towers with spiers

Length - 458.45 m, width - 68.86 m, deadweight - 564,763 tons. Launched in 1979, scrapped in 2010.

The largest oil tanker Seawise Giant got into the Guinness Book of Records for its size. The ship is 6 meters longer than the 88-story Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, complete with spiers, and is about the width of a football field. It is so large that the draft did not allow it to pass through the Suez, Panama Canals and the English Channel.

Designed and built in Japan by Sumitomo Heavy Industries Ltd. in the mid-1970s, the tanker was destined for a Greek customer. However, he refused to buy: during the tests, a strong vibration of the hull was found while swimming in reverse. As a result, the ship was resold to a Hong Kong company and rebuilt: its displacement at full load reached an absolute record - 657,018 tons. During its long life, the ship changed owners and names several times, it was Happy Giant, Jahre Viking, Knock Nevis, Mont, went under Liberian, Norwegian, American and Sierra Leone flags.

In 1986, the Seawise Giant was nearly destroyed during the Iran-Iraq war. A missile launched by an Iraqi fighter caused a fire on board, the crew was evacuated, and the ship ran aground in the Strait of Hormuz and was considered sunken. The Norwegians found it, repaired it and sent it on a new voyage. Since 2004, the world's largest tanker has ceased to be a floating tanker and has been used as an oil storage near Qatar. In 2009, he made his last trip to the shores of India and was dismantled for scrap. After the disposal of the giant, the largest supertankers are four double-hulled TI-class ships: Oceania, Africa, Asia and Europe. They have a length of 380 m and outperform their competitors in deadweight of 441,585 tons.

Stadium running track

Length - 400 m, width - 58.6 m, deadweight - 184,605 tons, capacity - 19,100 teu (1 teu is a standard 20-foot container). Launched in 2014.

In January 2015, the world's longest container ship CSCL Globe made its maiden voyage from China to Europe. It was built by the South Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries and is owned by the Chinese company China Shipping Container Lines. Although this ship is the largest among container ships (it could run 400m races), it is inferior in terms of carrying capacity to another giant: MSC Oscar, which was also recently built in South Korea for an Italian company and can carry 124 containers more. The difference is small, but the Chinese container ship has a longer length and the most powerful engine in the world: a MAN diesel engine with a capacity of 77,200 hp is hidden in the engine compartment of the ship. with. and a height of 17.2 m. Korean shipbuilders are not going to stop there and predict the emergence of new giant container ships.

Four statues of liberty

Length - 382 m, width - 124 m, deadweight - 48,000 tons. Launched in 2013.

The catamaran Pioneering Spirit, which until February 2015 was called Pieter Schelte, is the absolute champion in terms of deck area. The creators claim that it can fit small town OK. In length, four statues of Liberty (93 m with a pedestal) could be laid. The ship was built in South Korea according to the project of a Finnish company. Its function is the laying of underwater pipelines and the movement of drilling platforms. In January 2015, the ship arrived in Europe and was already at the center of a scandal because of its name - in honor of the Nazi criminal Peter Schelte Heerm, an SS officer who was found guilty of war crimes and evaded punishment by deceit. Seeing a gigantic ship with that name in Rotterdam, the Jewish communities of Great Britain and Holland raised a fuss, as a result of which even the British government spoke out in favor of renaming the ship. Under public pressure, the head of the Allseas company, which owns the miracle ship, and Peter Schelte's own son, Edward Heerma, agreed not to use his father's name in the name of the catamaran and changed it to the neutral Pioneering Spirit.

whole city

Length - 362 m, width - 60 m, deadweight - 19,750 tons. Launched in 2009.

The largest cruise ship Allure of the Seas has a capacity of 6296 passengers and 2384 crew members. Made in Finland by the Norwegian company STX Europe, it is owned by the US-Norwegian company Royal Caribbean International and runs between the US and Europe. A whole city is placed on board: 2700 cabins, a park with living trees and flowers, an ice rink, an aquatic theater, a climbing wall, a theater for 1380 spectators, as well as shops, bars, restaurants, baths, saunas, etc. It is noteworthy that this ship has the twin of the same class is the cruise ship Oasis of the Seas. However, Allure of the Seas is 5 cm longer. The price for a 12-day sailing across the Atlantic from Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona starts from 53,600 rubles.

Six leaning towers of pisa

Length - 362 m, width - 65 m, deadweight - 402,347 tons. Launched in 2010.

The largest bulk carriers for transporting ore are called Valemax: this is a series of ships of the Brazilian mining company Vale SA. Seven ore carriers were ordered by this company in South Korea and 12 more in China. The pioneer among the twins was the Vale Brasil, later renamed Ore Brasil, launched in 2010 to transport ore from Brazil to Asia. This bulk carrier replaces 11,150 ore-carriers, burns almost 97 tons of fuel per day and ranks second among ships in terms of deadweight, giving way to TI-class ships. Due to its size, it can moor only in some deep-water ports in Brazil, China and Europe. It could easily fit six Leaning Towers of Pisa, if laid out in length.

90 aircraft

Length - 342 m, width - 78.4 m, displacement - 94,781 tons. Commissioned in 1961, decommissioned in 2012.

The American aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65) was the longest aircraft carrier in the world and was also the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. The maximum capacity was 5828 people, up to 90 aircraft could be on board at the same time, but usually 60 were placed. The total ammunition capacity was 2520 tons. Initially, it was planned to create six such machines, but due to the high price ($ 451 million), it remained the only one of its kind - its feature was not only the size, but also the presence of eight reactors of the A2W type.

The aircraft carrier has become a symbol of US naval power and has been used in almost all wars and conflicts involving this country: in the Caribbean crisis, in the Vietnam War in 1965, in Iraq in 1998, in Afghanistan in 2001, in the Iraq War of the 2000s , in the fight against Somali pirates in 2011.

During its long life, the aircraft carrier went to sea 25 times, made one circumnavigation(in 1964), set a record for the number of sorties from a ship (65 in one day in 1965) and almost exploded in 1969, when an unplanned self-launch of aerial bombs occurred on board, which provoked the scattering of missiles and the destruction of 15 aircraft. Then 27 people died, 314 people were injured, and the damage to the ship was estimated at $ 6.4 million. However, the miracle aircraft carrier was restored and continued to sail until it was decommissioned in 2012. Its full disposal is scheduled for 2016.

There were no pleasure tourist liners yet. In fact, there are dozens of liners from different companies, approximately the same in size and competing with each other in luxury. In many ways, they are similar to each other. Let's at least look at the BIGGEST of them. Along the way, we will add this boat to our

Royal Caribbean International commissioned Finnish shipbuilders to build an entirely new class passenger liners who will be able to hold the palm for many years. This is how the cruise ship "Oasis of the Seas" was born, which was launched as the largest passenger ship in the world on October 28, 2009. In addition, the liner won first place in another nomination, as the most expensive ship on the planet. Its construction was spent 1.24 billion dollars, the average cost of staying in the port of such a vessel will cost the owners 230,000 US dollars.

Liners of the new class "Genesis" the first-born "Oasis of the Seas" and already under construction "Allure of the Seas" surpassed its predecessor "Freedom of the Seas" and became 21 m longer, 8.5 m wider and almost 43 percent heavier .

Passenger ships of the Genesis project have become truly remarkable liners. From bold design to a plethora of innovations and technological advances in passenger amenities, all of which will now help attract new customers for an unforgettable sea voyage.

The liner "Oasis of the Seas" has absorbed all the best that is on the ships of the company "Royal Caribbean International". His first voyage on December 05, 2009 will take place on a grand scale, including the most luxurious party at sea. For its guests, this is an amazing sea voyage, and for the cruise liner "Oasis of the Seas" it is the readiness to withstand any threat: hurricanes, giant waves and even contagious diseases.

The ship was built by the STX Europe shipbuilding company specifically for Royal Caribbean International, the construction of the Oasis of the Seas cost £ 855 million. The ship is 361 meters long, 66 meters wide, and its highest point rises above the surface of the water by 72 meters. The displacement of the liner is 225 thousand tons. Oasis is 40% larger than any other cruise ship in the world. The ship, five times the size of the Titanic, can accommodate 6,360 passengers and 2,160 crew on sixteen decks in 2,704 cabins. By the way, the new liner is 2 times larger than the previous record holder - Queen Mary II.

The vessel is equipped with 6 Wärtsilä engines - three 12-cylinder and three 16-cylinder. Together, its power plants generate 96 MW of power, which allows the ship to reach speeds of up to 22.6 knots. The new owners of the ship were very surprised to learn that the Oasis had four more onboard cabins than planned.

New safety practices and design features that are completely new to cruising have made the Oasis of the Seas one of the most anticipated cruise ships in history. The ship has so-called telescopic tubes, which can be reduced if you need to sail under the bridge. The world's largest cruise ship, the Oasis of the Seas, had to be partially dismantled so that it could pass under the Danish Great Belt Bridge. But even after the height of the pipes was reduced, the distance between the ship and the building was less than half a meter. For safety reasons, traffic on the bridge was blocked for 15 minutes. Hundreds of people gathered on both sides of the river to watch the brightly lit cruise ship, which rises above the water like a 20-story building.

There is a lot of entertainment here, both for ordinary inhabitants and for millionaires. The ship is equipped with a water amphitheater, a carousel (made "life-size"), a floating park, an ice rink, a golf course, 4 swimming pools, which required a total of 2300 tons of water, volleyball and basketball courts, a climbing wall and a children's area with theme parks and children's science labs. It has, among other things, 10 spa baths and surf simulators. The liner is so large that it is divided into "districts" with special themes, including a tropical area with palm trees and wines. In total, 12,000 plants and 56 trees have been planted on the ship - this is the world's first park on a ship with an area of 2,000 square meters. m, which has become a kind of analogue of the "Central" Park in New York. Therefore, its passengers can relax in the park in the shade of real trees, listen to Broadway musicals and watch an ice show.

The 750-seat outdoor amphitheater is located at the stern and is modeled after the ancient Greek amphitheatre. The indoor theater, located in another part of the ship, is designed for 1,300 guests. A two-week cruise on the miracle ship "Oasis of the Seas" will cost a rather modest amount: from £1300 for a place in the cheapest cabin. Construction of its twin vessel called "Allure of the Seas" is scheduled for completion in late 2010.

Passengers like to celebrate all the time, but if the cruise is “premium class”, and almost all people are wealthy, then there should be about 20,000 bottles of champagne on board, more than 14,000 kg of meat products, 44,000 fresh eggs, 6,600 kg of salad, 3,000 kg of onions, 22,000 kg of potatoes and this is only a small part of the food supply.

After loading is completed, the Oasis of the Seas cruise ship sets off for its first cruise voyage. And if you forgot something, then alas, it’s too late to correct mistakes. The liner left the port of Everglades and the cruise began.

Doctors on the cruise ship Oasis of the Seas are hoping to avoid another type of natural disaster. If at least two people with a viral disease board the ship, it will spread instantly, since everyone is in a confined space. The liner is equipped with disinfectants in all public places, especially before meals.

Cruises on the liner are, as a rule, a guarantee of first-class food 24 hours a day. Especially during holiday cruises, when on board the liner its staff arranges a real feast. The restaurants serve the most exquisite dishes.

And waste disposal is the most important part of the internal structure of the ship. The Oasis of the Seas liner has its own waste processing plant, where all garbage is carefully sorted. Tin cans are pressed, glass is broken to prepare for recycling, and all other solid waste is stored until it is landfilled at the nearest port, because the Oasis of the Seas cruise ship is an environmentally friendly ship.

Over three hundred cooks work on board. It is in the galley that the products are located, the cost of which is 2 million US dollars. Due to strict hygiene regulations, the galley is not open to anyone except registered employees. About 70,000 main dishes are served daily on the ship, of which 15,000 are desserts.

All entertainment during the cruise is the responsibility of the cruise director. The most difficult part of his job: to make everything so that the guests were satisfied. He plans entertainment, communicates with guests and keeps them in good spirits. It has its own film studio on board. Its employees film daily material on board the liner, and then, after editing, they broadcast it to the cabins, usually in the evening.

Not less than amazing place on the cruise ship"Oasis of the Seas" is considered the "Royal Promenade", which runs through the center of the ship. There is a unique transparent backlit elevator. There are so many shops and bars in this place that it looks like a small town. On board the cruise ship "Oasis of the Seas" you can find a lot of entertainment.

Traditionally, an artificial wave pool is installed on the upper deck. Its pumps pump up to 112,000 liters of water per minute.

One of the most popular events on the ship is the theatre, which seats about 2,000 people. The ice show also attracts a lot of spectators. To ensure that everything goes smoothly, the engineers turn on the ship's stabilization system.

February 24, 2010- Royal Caribbean realized that the idea of tracking one person to others might appeal to many, and they were right, the novelty quickly became very popular

On the largest cruise ship in the world, Oasis of the Seas, Royal Caribbean companies offer a novelty of IT technologies, identification bracelets and iPhone mobile phones so that people can find each other in the giant liner's countless rooms. Wristbands are personal RFID identifiers, although they can be not only bracelets, but also badges or clips. WiFi operates throughout the ship, the signal from the bracelet via WiFi goes to the Apple iPhone mobile phone, equipped with detailed diagram liner, that is, at any time one person can know exactly where the other is.

There are almost 1,000 WiFi spots on the ship, and at first, the company just wanted to make sure that people could communicate with each other via mobile phones and not only to communicate, through the ship's iPhone you can get this or that information, order a service, etc., but then they realized that the idea of tracking one person might please others, and they turned out to be right, the novelty quickly became very popular. It is not difficult to guess that parents became the main consumers of identifiers. The liner is incredibly huge, there are a lot of places where a child can get lost, and this can become a problem not only for parents, but for the entire crew, searching for a lost person on a ship is a many-hour and extremely difficult operation, a ship's emergency, and preferably at this time drive all other passengers into cabins or public areas.

At first, Oasis of the Seas offered badges as an identifier, but then they went further and now they offer bracelets, which is much more convenient, since they can serve as a kind of pager. If you give a signal from the iPhone, the bracelet starts to vibrate, and its owner will understand that they are looking for him. If this is a child, then okay, but teenagers are unlikely to like such IT surveillance. The young man met a girl at a disco and retired with her in a darker and more secluded place, since there are plenty of such places on a giant liner, and the damned bracelets suddenly begin to vibrate, what is it like? But what a blessing to parents ...

The device works on the basis of Ekahau's RTLS real-time location system, the signal from the identifier is processed by the DeFi Royal Connect program and issued to the end server, and from there it gets to the iPhone, the location accuracy is 3-3.5 meters. The bracelets are powered by rechargeable batteries, and there is more than enough charge for a week-long cruise. After the end of the cruise, the bracelets are handed over to the administration and charged again. Reviews, they say in Royal Caribbean, are still very good, but they still do not know how and where this novelty can be used, in addition to surveillance, they collect data. During cruises, users of the electronic spy are interviewed, and it is hoped that the information collected will expand the scope of Wi-Fi RFID identifiers.

Some numbers:

5,000 kilometers of electrical wiring

12,000 plants, including real trees, but the plants will be installed and planted later, upon the arrival of the liner in the USA

7,000 works of art will decorate the premises of the liner or be displayed in the halls of 90,000 square meters of carpeted floors

The construction of the liner took 525,000 square meters of steel - an area equivalent to 72 football fields

And did you know that…

Propellers for this giant will be manufactured by a Russian plant - Baltiysky Zavod OJSC

OJSC Baltiysky Zavod has completed the manufacture of the first propeller designed for the world's largest ocean cruise liner Genesis. A 360 meter long ship is building Norwegian company Aker Yards at its shipyard in Finland. The Baltic Shipyard will equip the liner with two propellers. The diameter of each product is more than 6 meters.
Contracts for the manufacture of propellers for the cruise liners Genesis, Super Star Libra, Celebrity and Hall, which are being built at the Finnish shipyard, were signed by Baltiysky Zavod (St. Petersburg) and FSUE Zvezdochka (Severodvinsk) in 2007. According to the terms of the agreements, the St. Petersburg enterprise will supply the customer with several dozen sets of blades, hubs and fairings, as well as sets of spare parts for propellers by the end of this year. The value of the contracts is more than 10 million euros.

Baltiysky Zavod is the only manufacturer in Russia of large propellers (weighing up to 70 tons, diameter - up to 8 m) made of bronze and brass. The company manufactures modern propellers for all types of warships and submarines; large-capacity tankers and bulk carriers; nuclear and diesel-electric icebreakers; container ships and passenger ships; small coastal, river and pleasure craft; fast ships and boats.

One evening, the captain of the liner gives dinner to his guests. Cruisers love formal occasions. Each of them tries to bring home the memory of the sea voyage for this, several professional photographers work on board the ship. Approximately 30,000 photographs will be taken during the cruise.

The charm of any cruise travel lies in the fact that in the ports where the liner stops, passengers will find a lot of new sensations.

On the liner, everything is done for customers, but there are always passengers who behave badly and interfere with others. Such people are asked to leave the ship at the nearest port. But the worst thing is when a passenger dies on board. Then the whole team has to console his loved ones. The body is placed in its own morgue.

Crew members and attendants lead a full life, but completely isolated from the guests. They are not allowed to use the main aisles on board the ship unless absolutely necessary. All personnel move through a hidden system of service corridors and stairs. To do this, in the center of this labyrinth is the main passage that runs along the entire length of the ship. It has the unofficial name E-95, and crew members use it to get to their cabins, where they can take a break from the guests. Laundry on such a ship is one of the busiest among all types of ships. The employees of this plant work around the clock.

In nightclubs liner« Oasis of the Seas» DJs do their job well. While they are warming up the audience, night falls on the ship and then most of the 750,000 lamps on the ship light up. Electricity on the cruise ship is generated by diesel generators made to order by the company " Wartsilla».

The most secure room on a cruise ship is the engineering control post. From here they monitor the weather conditions, control the operation of the power plant and control all the ship's systems. This is the center of power passenger ship, so entry here is strictly prohibited.

On the liner« Oasis of the Seas» 4,500 km of electric cable have been laid, so the main thing for the ship's engineers is not bad weather, but fire. Such liner consumes an average of up to 11,000 kg of fuel per hour. A sudden spark in any place is much more dangerous than a hurricane. The operating costs are huge - even a slight deviation from the course can result in a considerable amount.

During bad weather and the impossibility of safely entering the port, the captain of the vessel can give an order not to enter the port, and the cruise director immediately announces the changed plans to passengers. This adds to the work of the entertainment service as everyone stays on board.

A cruise ship« Oasis of the Seas» became the first passenger ship in the world to have seven independent theme areas on board Central Park, Boardwalk, Royal Promenade, Pool and Sports Zone, Vitality Sea Spa and Fitness Center, Entertainment Place and Youth Zone so no one gets discouraged here.

Central Park is under open sky in the center of the ship and forms a public space with sidewalks, flowers and trees. Its grounds are used for outdoor walks, street performances and concerts. Above the surroundings of the park, 334 cabins stretch to the height of a five-story building, 254 of which have balconies that overlook the park. Central Park has a number of boutiques, a garden, many gazebos, a sculpture park, cafes, restaurants and a wine bar.

Despite the size liner, some passengers suffer from seasickness. Although the entire staff maintains a straight face, some have to deal with a variety of problems on board, from natural disasters to crime. The security service in civilian clothes takes over this case. They have video surveillance cameras and the ship's own law enforcement agencies at their disposal.

Tankers are 380 meters long, 68 meters wide, have a maximum speed of 17.5 knots (32 km/h), and a capacity of 3,166,353 barrels.

Berge Emperor is a supertanker built by the Mitsui Group in 1975 in Japan. It was launched on August 30, 1975.
