Cancun one of the most important resorts not only in Mexico but also in the world. Cancun and Riviera Maya are a well-planned and sharpened for tourism coastal zone caribbean about 150 kilometers long. We will help your dream come true and offer you a reservation and an English-speaking guide during your trips.

The most beautiful beaches of the Yucatan, which, of course, will not leave anyone indifferent. Here you will find some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and you can choose the beach to your taste: quiet, where no one will disturb your peace of mind; or a beach club where good music plays and you can have fun with friends, wild beaches where you can be alone with nature.

Las Perlas beach
Langosta beach
Tortugas beach
Caracol beach
Gaviota Azul beach
Chac Mool beach
Marlin beach
Ballenas beach
Delfines beach

Cenotes- this is the pride of the Yucatan: the most beautiful sources of fresh, clear and fresh water, born of underground rivers in which you can swim.

Each cenote is a work of art created by nature, both above and below water. Diving and swimming in cenotes is one of the most popular activities in the Yucatan, the only place in the world where cenotes exist.

Colonial cities in the Yucatan Peninsula. Merida, the capital of the state of Yucatan, is a colonial city with nearly 500 summer history. It is the largest in the region and since the time of the conquest has always been the administrative center of the region. Valladolid: a small town that, before Mérida, had the function of an administrative center, and therefore also has colonial architecture in the historic part of the city.

Pre-Columbian cities and religious complexes that have no equal in the world in terms of quantity, quality of preserved buildings and uniqueness

Water activities: water skiing, yachting, sea and ocean fishing, diving, snorkeling, surfing and kite surfing - all this is in Cancun and the Riviera Maya.

Park Shkaret:

amusement park, which combines a zoo, an aquarium, a terrarium, Mayan ruins, underground rivers where you can swim, a real Mexican hacienda, a Mayan cemetery (not real), a whisper house, a Mayan village, and much, much more.

After a day's walk, evening shows with the participation of professional national dancers, equestrians, a match in the Mayan ball game “pok ta pok” and much more await you.

Shelha Park.

This is a water amusement park. One of the natural bays has turned into an underwater zoo with a thousand species of fish, turtles and other marine animals. Here you will find everything active entertainment related to water: scuba diving, snorkeling, dolphinarium, cenotes - natural sources of fresh water, bungee, etc. Spend the day where everyone will find a rest to their liking!

Explorer Park:

extreme adventure for thrill-seekers. There you will rush in a jeep through the jungle and rivers, ride at high speed on a cable from a bird's eye view, swim along an underground river .. An adventure for the active.
A new interactive aquarium where you can not only look at huge and not very marine animals, but also be able to swim with sharks, feed turtles and fish.

There are also natural reserves, such as Akumal, where you can swim with huge turtles in their natural habitat, or Sian Kaan or Rio Lagartos, where you can sail on a boat along the mangrove river where you fly to eat pink flamingos, and on the way you will see flocks of rare birds and, if you're lucky, even crocodiles and sea cockroaches.

Rio Secreto is a natural underground rivers and canals, where the entrance was open to everyone. With an experienced Russian guide, you can swim along underground caves, enjoy stunning views, clean and clear water rivers, that is, an unforgettable time.

Cancun's golf courses are known all over the world: from huge, to 12 holes, to small driving ranges, lovers of this elite sport are waiting.

Cancun is full of entertainment for all tastes. The spirit of the explorer lives in you, do not miss the opportunity to get to know this heavenly place better.

Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen Riviera Maya

one of the best places diving world, thanks to vibrant marine life and sparkling underwater caves. The city itself is a more modern version of the fishing village that it once was. You can have a great time on the golf course or head to the Jungle Place Preserve to see the playful spider monkeys. Explore the ruins of Coba (Ancient Mayan Village) or simply watch the locals while shopping on Fifth Avenue. (Source tripadvisor.com)

Hello, my name is Kirill and I represent a company organizing individual and group tours for Mexico "BMT".
I have lived in Mexico for over 13 years. Now I live and work in Cancun, I often visit Mexico City. I have dual citizenship: Russian and Mexican.
I have always been attracted by the secrets of ancient civilizations, fascinated by the color and beauty of the nature of this wonderful country, so I graduated from the University of Anthropology in Mexico City and devoted myself entirely to tourism. Worked as a guide in almost all major travel companies who specialize in Russian-speaking tourists and now he has organized his own travel company.
The basis of our work is a personal approach to each tourist. If you decide to visit Mexico, my colleagues and I will help you organize your vacation in such a way that it leaves an indelible impression on you.
We guarantee you best price in the Mexican tourist services market and quality service, based on our many years of experience!
We also offer inexpensive group tours along the main lines of the coast.
Have a nice holiday everyone! See you in Mexico!

I try to write as much as possible about my experience, and not rewrite other articles here. What I saw/heard is what I write. We flew in December 2015 and March 2017 for 5 months. Updated as of August 2017.

Cancun - perfect place for wintering. Air temperature +25 at night, +30 during the day, sea +25-28. Very beautiful sea and sand, and the sand is not hot in the sun.
The darkness of entertainment, many attractions, relatively inexpensive ($2000-$3000/month for two is enough).

The people are simple, kind and friendly.

About Cancun

Cancun - resort and cozy city. Main tourist centre on the Caribbean Sea. The population is about 600,000, the city is not small, but you don’t want to go everywhere. Houses are mostly 1-3 storey.

There are 2 zones in the city: for locals - Downtown and for tourists - Zona Hoteleria - this is a 30 km spit along the sea - almost all tourists live and move there. We live 15 minutes from Downtown, a great area (close to cafes, Walmart and shopping center). Usually we drive 40 minutes to the beach, all beaches are in the hotel area.

Visa for Ukrainians, Russians. Residence

Virtually no visa required, an electronic visa is issued - just fill out the form on the embassy website and print it out. This is a visa, but before departure, you need to check with the airline if it supports electronic visas (not all routes will work). In theory, you can fly with all companies from the IATA list.
The visa gives the right to live up to 180 days, then you can fly out of the country and fly back for another 180 days - ideal conditions.

You can apply for a residence permit, and it seems not difficult through opening a business, if you wish, you can do it. With a residence permit, you can do your own business, buy a car / bike, open bank accounts, receive discounts on some entertainment.

Flight. local transport

We flew from Kyiv UIA -> Condor (Frankfurt) to Cancun. Flight 450$ / person one way. Searched through skyscanner.ru and bought on Condor.com
Schengen visa is not needed, we did not pass in Frankfurt passport control, but in Ukraine they asked us additionally about financial security, so that we would not suddenly go out in Europe.
If the transplant is through the USA, then you may need a visa to the USA - you need to be careful.

Cheap buses run from the airport during the day, and at night only taxis ~ 20$ / person. A lot of buses go around the city for $0.5 / person. We get to the beach with a transfer.
Taxi in the center 2$, to the beach 4$+. Railways are not developed here.

Housing

We rented through Airbnb.com for 4 nights, $25/night. Hotels in Downtown 40$+, near the beach 100$-300$.

Long term housing: $480 / month found in 3 days (one-room apartment, very small), it was not easy - December is the most hot season(arrived on the 9th), peak - Christmas (December 25). Searched: through Airbnb.com - asked for a discount; on the site for locals (learned from the tour dealer); you can look for the inscriptions "Se renta" along the street, but they rarely answer. Knowing English at least at intermediate level is very desirable, housing is the most difficult thing that required communication. And already on January 1st, they found an excellent housing for $550 / month, 2-room apartment, with big hall and a small patio (they never sat in it).
Washing machines are rare. Laundries around.

Condoniums (pool, sauna, cleaning) - there is, we were offered for $ 1000+ / month, cheaper is more difficult and not much cheaper. It will not be easy to accommodate a team of IT specialists.

Prices

Average cost of living for 2 people:

  • 1400$ / month - minimum (it's hard for me and in Ukraine to live on 1300$).
  • 2100$ / month - optimal(with few entertainments, cafes every day, sometimes restaurants, shopping).
  • $2600 / month - great, lots to try.
  • $4000 / month - you can try almost everything 2 times.

Housing rental: $400-700/month. 1100$ / month by the sea.
Housing purchase: $80,000+ great house or apartment.
Auto: purchase of $8000 used BMW 2006, in Ukraine the same $20,000.
Scooter or small car: $900+ purchase.

Expenses

Our expense for two: $1800 / month.
Expenses without categories: business, charity.
The first graph and the second graph: for the month from December 12, 2015, how long-term housing was rented:

The second schedule is by day, without housing ($500 / month).
The third schedule is the first days before the rental of long-term housing (from the night of the 9th to the 12th), without a flight and a train to Kyiv for two ~ +1000$.
What's included: Everything you need to live. What else: $75 (2 sim cards 3G with 3 GB), first $150 for an apartment (dishes + bedding + household items + long-term products: spices, salt ...), holidays, gifts, some things, visiting the island + bike , show of illusionists.

Language - Mexican Spanish only

99% of the locals only know Spanish. Few speak even intermediate English. Sometimes locals know elementary words in English.
But we've been here for a month now, and you can live without knowing the language, even often it's fun, but I teach - an hour a day. Today I made an order in a restaurant and got Wi-Fi without gestures, everything is in Spanish.

Everything below the USA (except Brazil) is all Spanish, so I decided that learning the language here would be interesting and useful. Although it wasn't part of my plans. I will write about this separately.

Entertainment and all

Cancun has a lot of places to go and things to do (in terms of entertainment) and see.

You can go dancing (and not know the language), boxing, rocking. Learn to dance salsa. You can even learn Spanish with a tutor :) There are films in English in the cinema. Books in English - buy online only.

And also: helicopter flight, swimming with dolphins (4 species), swimming with sharks, snorkeling, scuba diving, museums, boats, fishing, jet skis, trampolines, just running, spearfishing, tennis, football, volleyball, basketball, golf and minigolf, kitesurfing, windsurfing, surfing, motorized surfing, bikes, rollers.

Attractions

beautiful beaches(pieces of 10 exactly different), neighboring islands(3 nearby - you can rent a bike), neighboring cities (4 great places with history), pyramids (Maya, and the ruins are different), cool parks entertainment (4 cool parks, I have never seen such in my life), cenotes with swimming in them (similar to caves with clear water).

Communication. locals

He wrote about communication - with locals only in Spanish. Tourists mostly come for 1-2 weeks, there are few people like us. There are not many foreigners here. We met guys from Ukraine - we communicate with them most of all. As long as it's enough.

Typical Maya Mexicans are small, not tall, 150 - 167 cm, without a neck, with a belly or other excess weight, and with a simple face.

Work on site

The travel agencies say they really need Russian speaking guides and sellers of tours - Russian tourists do not even know English well. "They are the only problems," - as the seller of tours told us. But it is better to have not a tourist visa, but a work one. If the police find you at work, you will be deported.
You can earn about $1000 - $3000 if you work hard.
There are few quality services: manicure, pedicure, painting - the girls suffer.
In general, the locals are not distinguished by diligence and quality in everything. You can travel, work and live.

And in general, according to my and not only impressions, the locals are not very smart and definitely not hardworking, the Russians are much superior in this regard. And why, "ours" live poorer (judging by GDP) ??? Russians (Russians and Ukrainians) are simply geniuses!

Food. Products. Restaurants/cafes

Local kitchen I don't like. The products are pretty standard. A little more fruit and some vegetables are not familiar. Traditionally no buckwheat! There are no many cereals, cereals, and in general everything is bad with milk. You go to Walmart - and it seems that all Mexicans except chips and snacks, drinking cola - do not eat anything.

Cafes (such as canteens) serve a full meal for $3-4, but I'm not thrilled. Chain pizzerias from $10 apiece for two. Coffee 3-4$. The restaurants are great, but not many. TOP 3 dinners were in restaurants: Spanish cuisine, European and Indian. Restaurants are mostly air-conditioned - important for work (in India we had only one cafe).

The medicine

Have not encountered yet, but definitely more expensive than Russia or Ukraine. Massage ~ 50$
There are not many good specialists, but if there are, they are more expensive.

Security

In general, Mexico is much more dangerous than Ukraine or Russia. But since Cancun is very touristy, this is strictly monitored here, patrolmen with machine guns often go. Friends for a year - never encountered. And under our window at home they tried to rob a woman on the very first day, so we are careful.

Life, Internet

I stick to this schedule: I get up at 7:30 - 8 in the morning, do push-ups, go for a run (preparing for a half marathon), listen to audiobooks and have breakfast, work 2-3 hours.
In 2-3 days we go somewhere or to the beach, if today is a beach day, then we go to lunch, if not, I go to work in a nearby cafe.
In the evening I still read, work, learn Spanish (about an hour a day). I go to bed at 22-23 hours.

We live, enjoy the weather, work, learn Spanish, learn English, learn how to write articles like now, read, run.

Internet: 3G / 4G available - $ 22 / 3 Giga, available in apartments everywhere (average and worse).
SpeedTest: 3 Mbps in our apartment, 5 Mbps in our favorite cafe-office.
In a cafe - usually eat (medium). There is no WI-FI in eateries and on the streets.

Video

Would I stay in Mexico?

Maybe. You can definitely stay here to live, but I don't have to make a choice right now. Once you learn Spanish, you will be like your own. There is something to do, great weather, airport. If you suddenly want to go into the tourism business - this is the perfect place.

Cons for me:

  • few IT people;
  • when my project grows - it will be difficult to assemble a team here;
  • without Spanish, few people can be friends;
  • outside of Cancun is less safe.
