Rest in "Yangan-Tau" or visiting the Burning Mountain

Recently returned from Bashkiria, rested in a sanatorium "Yangan-Tau" Or rather, it is considered a resort. In general, the impressions are pleasant, I was especially impressed by nature - the landscapes of Bashkiria. The resort itself is also beautiful, located right on Mount Yangantau, which means in Bashkir - burning mountain.

The mountain is not high, the absolute height is 143 m. It stretches from east to west for 2.5 km along the right bank of the Yuryuzan River.

We are resting in Bashkiria for the second time, our first acquaintance with this republic took place in 2013 during a vacation in the Karagay sanatorium (I wrote about this). The nature of Bashkortostan conquered us then.

The Yangan-Tau resort is much larger than the Karagay sanatorium. Modern beautiful buildings of the main complex, successful landscape design, which especially delighted in the first days of rest.

Today even on Southern Urals lilac bloomed only by the end of June.

Then, however, we began to notice some of the nuances of that design that seemed strange to us. Quite a lot of large trees were cut down, as evidenced by not high, less than 10 cm, stumps. Perhaps this was done so that distant landscapes could be seen from the windows of the buildings. Perhaps, the landscape architecture of the Yangan-Tau resort is still being formed. Small fir trees are planted along the paths, which is why you can’t hide from the main alley. scorching sun. And the lawn in front of the buildings looks like a golf course.

View of the leisure center.

Large green lawn.

However, to be fair, shady " paradise There are also many in Yangan-Tau.

Deer (sculptures) hid among tall pines.

The young ate among the birches.

Behind the main buildings there is a park area with fountains,

artificial waterfalls and reservoirs where live fish swim, however, ducks floating on the surface of the water of these reservoirs turned out to be plastic.

A pond with live fish is located near the dry-air clinic.

The main healing factor of "Yangan-Tau" is steam and hot gases coming out of the bowels of the mountain. Actually, that's why the mountain was called Burning. The Bashkirs have a legend about the Burning Mountain, according to which, the first to discover the amazing properties of the mountain was an old shepherd, grazing his sheep on its slope.

“On one of the dank autumn days, he took shelter from the rain, in a small hole at the root of an ancient tree and fell asleep. And when I woke up, I was surprised to find that warm steam was rising from the bottom of the crevice. The old man remembered this hole, he often began to visit there - to warm the old bones. After a while, he noticed with amazement that the joints of his arms and legs had ceased to hurt. Soon other local residents also learned about this source of health. Since then, the mountain has been called Yangantau. The Bashkirs began to consider it sacred, and the pilgrimage of the sick began to the Burning Mountain.

The sculptural composition "The Legend of the Shepherd" was installed in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Yangan-Tau sanatorium.

And even earlier, the mountain was called Karakoshtau (Berkutova Mountain), because there were many golden eagles here. In fact, they are still here; we have often seen them circling over the mountain with their wings spread.

Sculpture Berkutova Gora.

There are many sculptures dedicated to the Bashkir epos in Yangan-Tau.

Sculpture "Ural Batyr".

Bas-reliefs dedicated to the most famous Bashkir epic "Ural-batyr".

Next to each sculpture, there are plates not only with the name and name of the sculptor, but also briefly describe the legends and explanations for the image. So walking around the resort park, we got a little acquainted with the Bashkir epic tales.

Totem pole "Heart of the Urals".

The Bashkirs in ancient times had several genera, each clan had its own sign - tamga. On the column are depicted tamgas of the clans close to the Salavat region (“Yangan-Tau” is located in the Salavat region of the Republic of Bashkortostan). On each side of the pillar there is a certain sign.

Sculpture of a polar bear - the king of animals. This is a character from another Bashkir epic legend "Aldar and Zukhra".

Another one interesting sculpture, is called "The Heart of Love between the rivers Ai and Yuryuzan".

There are many legends about Yuryuzan, one of which says:

“I lived in the southern regions of the Urals extraordinary beauty girl and her name was Yuryuzan. Everyone wanted to ask her hand and heart - she was so beautiful. The girl loved to communicate with nature and often walked through the forest, picking berries and flowers. And then one day, also walking around her favorite places, she did not notice how lost she was. She started calling for help, but no one answered. And then the young girl heard the sweet songs of the shepherd. She went out to the voice and saw a beautiful young man, his name was Ai. He helped her find her way home and since then they have not parted. The young man and the girl fell in love with each other so much that they could not live a day apart. But Aya's father - Yaman - was against a girl from a foreign tribe and turned to the sorcerer to separate the lovers. And so it happened. Once again, when Ai came to his beloved, she wept bitterly and her tears formed streams. Ai shouted: "I have come, my love!" "Beloved," the girl replied. Their eyes met and suddenly turned into rivers. And Yaman - uphill, thereby dividing the lovers. So the evil spell of the sorcerer came true. And the evil Yaman still stands among the Ural Mountains, never allowing the lovers to meet. And on both sides of it flow two rivers - Ai and Yuryuzan.

It is no coincidence that the sculpture “Heart of Love between the Ai and Yuryuzan Rivers” was installed on the Burning Mountain. After all, right at the foot of the Yangantau, the fast Yuryuzan flows, and behind the mountain, 9 kilometers away -. If you look at the map, then in this place Ai and Yuryuzan are closest to each other.

The bend of the Yuryuzan River, closest to the Ai River.

And such divine views open from the numerous viewing platforms of Yangan-Tau.

One of the viewing platforms with a stone gazebo.

Or here is such an observation deck with a bench in the shape of a heart.

Isn't it nice to walk in such a park, to sit in a "paradise".

Watch the video of the panorama from observation deck steam hospital.

Another decoration of the spa park is the drinking pump-room in the form of a rotunda.

In the drinking room.

A staircase of 1000 steps descends the slope of the Burning Mountain to the river bank.

The park has a large playground for kids with swings, carousels, slides, various climbing frames and figures of cartoon and fairy-tale characters.

What other recreation does the Yangan-Tau resort offer to its guests besides walking and swimming. There is a sports complex with a stadium and football, volleyball and tennis courts, sports equipment rental, bowling, billiards, a restaurant and cafe-bars, concert hall and summer stages, two museums: the Museum of History and (I will also talk about museums separately).

Yangan-Tau has ski resort"Berkut" and just a ski base, so in winter you can have a pretty active rest here.

The Yangan-Tau Resort is large, now I have shown only the Main Complex. There is another one and a half kilometers, on the same mountain Tourist complex, where we lived and the Yurtak Equestrian Sports Complex, and 3 km at the foot of Karatau Mountain - Health complex with artificial ponds, where the royal rainbow trout is found, which can be caught with a line, and swans swim. I will also talk about these complexes separately ().

I liked the service at the Yangan-Tau sanatorium literally from the first minutes. There is a 24-hour delivery service for guests. We arrived at Yangan-Tau by bus at night. Bus station right at the entrance. The guard called us a car, took us first to the registration, and then to the Tourist Complex, settled in the room.

During the day, sanatorium buses run between the Tourist and Main complexes and between the Health and Main complex. Basically, all the procedures in the Main complex, in the Tourist complex, we only had a massage, well, breakfast, lunch and dinner. When time allowed, we went on foot to the procedures, but more had to take the bus to keep up.

Everywhere clean and tidy, both indoors and outdoors. I also liked the food.

The sanatorium offers vacationers interesting trips and rafting on the Ai and Yuryuzan rivers, as well as bus rafting. The biggest disappointment for us was that during our stay there were no rafting. As we were told, the beginning of the summer was cold and rainy, and the water in the rivers was "cold, high and dirty." If I had known about this situation in advance, I would have booked a ticket for a week or two later. But I managed to visit the caves, I will also tell about them separately.

But we walked along the health paths, admiring the views from the Burning Mountain and listening to the amazing singing of birds, I even called it sound therapy. We rode horses, admired the sunsets and misty sunrises.

Evening on the Burning Mountain.

And yet, 12 days of rest in Yangan-Tau without rafting was too much for us, we got bored in the end. However, visiting the burning mountain We liked it, the nature there is amazing.

Yangantau is a mountain, climbing which, according to old-timers, you can feel the burning of the earth under your feet. 300 years ago, the name of the place sounded like Karakosh-Tau, or Mount Berkutov. Now the name of this place is a synonym for the word "burning".

Location

One of the many advantages is the healing properties of Yangantau. The mountain is a point where you can get healing mud.

This place is connected with Chelyabinsk by M5 - a route passing through the Gornozavodsk Territory. To get here, you need to pass Ust-Katav and Zlatoust, turn to Kropachevo, and then there will be only 40 km separating the traveler and the destination. Then you can make an ascent to Yangantau.

The mountain is famous for its spring called Kurgazak. Nearby there is Kuselyarovo - a village where you can be treated with hydrogen sulfide.

Discovery history

The legend of Mount Yangantau says that a shepherd who spent the night here discovered wonderful healing properties. He settled down for the night, crawling under the root of an old tree. Suddenly, steam rose from the ground. So even in the cold season it was quite warm here.

In addition, earlier the person had pain in the limbs, which began to disappear. He told about this to his friends, who also began to visit this place. Mount Yangantau in Bashkiria was crowned with a statue depicting this same shepherd who discovered this miracle.

Nowadays, the statue is being restored. They built a hospital, which quickly gained wide popularity. The buildings are modern, comfortable, the roads are covered with asphalt. At a depth of 60 m, a huge cauldron boils in the thickness of the soil, allowing people to heal numerous and serious ailments.

scientific observations

Mount Yangantau was also explored by P.S. Pallas, a famous Russian explorer. He carried out an expedition here with his companions and described the local nature. In the spring of 1770, they moved around. In the evening, it seemed that a giant cloud of steam, a couple of arshins high, was accumulating around the hill.

The scientist also learned from local residents that 12 years before his arrival, lightning struck a pine tree, which burned it to the very roots. The fire spread to the mountain and ignited it from the inside. More fundamental research began in the second half of the 19th century Yangantau.

The mountain has been the subject of writing more than a hundred scientific articles and papers, which contained theories regarding the occurrence amazing features this place. In fact, the exact answer could not be given so far.

Origin theories

Yangantau is a mountain, called "burning" in the Bashkir language. It is believed that it may be a dormant volcano. It has not been established what substances are bubbling inside, and whether they can be dangerous for the local population in the future.

At a depth of 70 m there is a core of thermal type, the temperature of which reaches 400 °C. There are cracks on the surface through which the gas penetrates to the outside. There they are intercepted by wells of steam hospitals. Closer to the top, the air is hot, while in other places it is dry. The reason for this is still of interest to researchers.

AT winter time more active combustion processes begin than in summer. No drilling is allowed here. great depth, because this creates the risk of disturbing the natural balance and the complete attenuation of the mountain.

medical application

Treatment of people here began in 1940. At first, the technique was reduced to burying a person in the ground cover and spending some time in the steam pits, sitting on stools. Around 1935, wooden barracks were already in use.

Today, having arrived here, you can see a modern-type sanatorium with all amenities. Mount Yangantau has been groomed and cleaned. Photos can show what excellent conditions are created here. Even the slopes are monitored very closely. On them you can go down to the bank of the Yuryuzan.

The air itself is useful and healing, just like water. A little earlier, heating was carried out using the energy of mountain bowels. Piped water also has healing mineral properties. You can drink it, cook food on it, wash clothes and wash dishes. The local nature is extremely generous.

Recently, studies of the Kurgazak spring were carried out, which showed that its liquid belongs to the group of Caucasian mineral waters. It contains manganese and useful iron, elements of zinc and phosphorus, silicon, molybdenum and much more, along with healing microflora. Due to this composition, the substance is called living.

healing water

Although the size of the mountain is small, its glory is truly great. In Kuselyarovo, where you can get by following the Yuryuzan, there is a lake with hydrogen sulfide. Even in cold weather with a temperature of minus 40, it is not subject to freezing. The water is slightly salty, not only people, but also animals like to quench their thirst with it. Such a liquid can cure ocular trachoma. At a distance of one and a half kilometers there are springs spouting from the ground.

These places are truly unique, because, going outside, the water reacts with atmospheric air and can lose its beneficial properties, so you need to be treated on the spot.

Lake mud will not be as effective if you take it to the right place for a long time. Sapropels are also found here - ancient marine deposits. There is a theory put together by one of the local historians of these lands, which says that in hoary antiquity there was a global cataclysm, which became a factor in the emergence of the wonderful properties of this place. So the local useful objects are inextricably linked with each other.

Sanatorium complex

The local resort bears the name of the mountain. Around the true beauty that is provided Ural mountains. The height of the sanatorium above sea level is 413 m. It was founded in 1937. On the site of the health resort you can find comprehensive information regarding its procedures and treatment programs, as well as accommodation and accommodation. The Ministry of Health oversees this point, which operates throughout the year. The maximum number of people living within its walls at a time is 840. Any person, starting from the age of 4, can undergo a treatment course. Families often come here.

Wells are both artificial and natural. You can take a thermal bath, which affects health in many ways. Pain and inflammation are relieved, muscle tone becomes better, and joints become more mobile. Improves microcirculation in the internal organs, gas exchange of tissues and blood, homeostasis. Activity rises. Steam-saturated gases are also used, in which there are ions of more than thirty useful components.

So this region is a real treasure, thanks to which everyone can make their life longer, healthier and more enjoyable. The staff of the sanatorium is ready to accept any person who comes here in any of the seasons.

Physical and geographical characteristics

Mount Yangantau is stretched from East to West for 2.5 km along the right bank of the river. Yuryuzan. The absolute height of the mountain is 143 meters, the height above the Yuryuzan River is 160 meters (504 meters above sea level).

The mountain is composed of rocks of the Sakmarian and Artinsk stages of the lower part of the Permian system, crumpled into folds. Structurally, the territory of the GSP is located on the southern outskirts of the Bashkir arch, bounded by a deep fault, along which the valley of the r. Yuryuzan.

Hot air saturated with water vapor comes out on the slopes of the mountain. The air temperature is from +37 to +150 degrees, and in a well drilled to a depth of 90 meters, the temperature reaches 380 degrees.

In the bowels of the mountain, oxidizing and reducing reactions of bituminous marls take place. At a depth of 60-90 m, there are hotbeds of heating. The accumulated heat in a limited area is stored for a long time due to the weak heat transfer of the surrounding rocks.

Story

Scientific research on the mountain has been carried out since the 18th century. (P. S. Pallas, 1773; F. N. Chernyshev, 1881; A. Ya. Gordyagin, 1882, 1885; E. M. Yanishevsky, 1902; A. Bikkel, 1932; G. V. Vakhrushev, 1927, 1957 and etc.).

Many hypotheses have been put forward about the nature of the thermal phenomena of the mountain: an underground fire from lightning, the reaction of the transition of ferrous oxide salts into oxide salts, the combustion of low-bituminous rocks, radioactive heat, mutual friction of the g.p. etc. Since the 60s of the 20th century, hypotheses about a natural nuclear reactor and a rare meteorite that has become a catalyst for thermal processes have been considered (S. G. Fattakhutdinov, 1993).

Mount Yangatau is also known for sulfur, zinc and radon sources, which became the basis for creating balneological resort Yangantau.

On the slopes of the mountain birches, oaks and aspens grow, alternating with meadow glades and petrophytic steppes. The surviving pines speak of primary coniferous forests. Shrub meadow-steppe complexes of steppe cherry, low almond, caragana, wild rose, warty euonymus and feather grass, fescue, thyme are common on the mountain and its environs.

The lower slope of the mountain is covered with cherry-willow thickets. On the basis of Mount Yangantau, in 1980, a reserve and forestry was organized on an area of 3600 hectares.

Mount Yangantau has been a natural monument since 1965.

An excerpt characterizing Yangantau (mountain)

Do you mean "downstairs"? Realizing what she was talking about, I immediately asked.
Stella nodded.
- What did you lose there?
“Oh, I didn’t lose, I found it!” the little girl exclaimed triumphantly. “Remember, I told you that there are good entities there too, but you didn’t believe me then?”
Frankly, I didn’t really believe even now, but, not wanting to offend my happy girlfriend, I nodded in agreement.
- Well, now you will believe it! .. - Stella said contentedly. - Went?
This time, apparently having already gained some experience, we easily “slid” down the “floors”, and again I saw a depressing picture very similar to those seen before ...
Some black, stinking slurry was champing underfoot, and streams of muddy, reddish water were flowing from it... The scarlet sky was getting dark, blazing with bloody reflections of the glow, and, still hanging very low, drove somewhere the crimson bulk of heavy clouds. .. And those, not yielding, hung heavy, swollen, pregnant, threatening to be born in a terrible, sweeping waterfall... From time to time, a wall of brown-red, opaque water broke out of them with a booming roar, hitting the ground so hard that it seemed the sky is falling...
The trees stood naked and featureless, lazily moving their drooping, thorny branches. Farther behind them stretched a bleak, burnt-out steppe, lost in the distance behind a wall of dirty, gray fog... True, it did not cause the slightest pleasure to make one want to look at it ... The whole landscape evoked horror and longing, seasoned with hopelessness ...
- Oh, how scary it is here ... - Stella whispered, shivering. – No matter how many times I come here, I just can’t get used to it... How do these poor things live here?!
- Well, probably, these "poor things" were too guilty once if they ended up here. After all, no one sent them here - they just got what they deserved, right? Still not giving up, I said.
“Now look…” Stella whispered mysteriously.
Before us suddenly appeared a cave overgrown with grayish greenery. And out of it, squinting, stepped out a tall, stately man who in no way fit into this miserable, chilling landscape ...
- Hello, Sad! Stella greeted the stranger affectionately. - I brought a friend! She does not believe that good people can be found here. And I wanted to show you to her... You don't mind, do you?
- Hello, dear... - the man answered sadly, - Yes, I'm not so good to show me to someone. You are right...
Oddly enough, but this sad man I really liked something right away. He exuded strength and warmth, and it was very pleasant to be near him. In any case, he did not in any way resemble those weak-willed, heartbroken people who surrendered to the mercy of fate with whom this “floor” was packed.
“Tell us your story, sad person…” Stella asked with a light smile.
“Yes, there is nothing to tell there, and there is nothing special to be proud of ...” the stranger shook his head. - And what do you need it for?
For some reason, I felt very sorry for him... Even without knowing anything about him, I was already almost sure that this person could not have done something really bad. Well, I just couldn’t!.. Stella, smiling, followed my thoughts, which she apparently liked very much ...
