In the very center of the city in the Znamenskoye-Gubailovo estate there is the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "The Sign". It was founded in 1683. At the end of the 18th century, the temple was rebuilt by order of Yuri Dolgoruky.

In 1885, the merchant Polyakov received the territory around the church. Thanks to him, the temple was reconstructed in the pseudo-Russian style. The facade of the church was decorated with kokoshniks, columns and elegant architraves. Next to the church is the chapel-tomb of the merchant and his wife. The architect I. Bondarenko worked on its creation. In Soviet times, the church was closed. Its premises were used for the needs of the city.

In 1997 the building was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church. During the restoration work, a new bell tower was erected, and the inner walls of the church were decorated with icons from the mosaic of A. Karnaukhov. After 4 years, the temple opened its doors to parishioners.

Manor Ilyinskoe

In the small village of Ilyinskoye, not far from the city of Krasnogorsk, there is a manor of the same name. It was built in 1666 for the family of the Moscow boyar Streshnev. At the beginning of the 19th century, the estate passed to the Osterman-Tolstoy family. Under him, a two-story mansion was built, a park in the English style was laid out.

By the end of the century, the estate passed into the possession of the imperial family. To this day, the main manor house, an outbuilding, a greenhouse, a horse yard, a bakery building and Ilyinsky Church, founded in 1732, have been partially preserved. This is the only building that is open to the public, since now there is a rest house on the estate.

Access to it is closed for visitors. In recent years, the park has been significantly reorganized. Of the historical buildings, only the gazebo-rotunda remained.

Sculpture "Sorrow"

In the park of the estate "Arkhangelskoye" you can see very interesting sculpture, which is called "Sorrow" or "Grieving Genius". It was installed in 1908 by order of the owner Zinaida Yusupova. She bought it at one of the exhibitions. Despite the fact that the structure was conceived as a tombstone, the princess ordered to install it in the park.

Some time later, his eldest son Nikolai died in a duel. And it was to him that she dedicated this monument. The German master K. G. Barth worked on the creation of the sculpture. This is the only creation of the sculptor in Russia.

The monument is made of bronze and represents the figure of a young man. In his left hand he holds a fading torch, and in his right hand he holds tightly a laurel wreath. The composition evokes sadness and grief in visitors.

Manor Petrovskoe

In the small village of Petrovskoye, which was originally called Durnevo, there is a manor of the same name. It was founded in 1670 by Prince P.I. Prozorovsky. At the end of the 17th century, the Assumption Church was erected on the estate.

In 1720, the Golitsyn family became the owners of Petrovsky. It was at this time that the main manor buildings were erected, which have partially survived to this day. The main house consisted of two floors, it was built in the 19th century in the Gothic architectural style. Next to it are paired brick outbuildings dating back to the 17th century.

Despite the fact that the park was neglected, you can see an oak alley and cascading ponds in it. Unfortunately, in Soviet times, the Assumption Church was completely destroyed, and rare paintings and a carved iconostasis were irretrievably lost. Now a small wooden temple has been erected in its place.

Nicholas Church

St. Nicholas Church is an excellent example of classicist architecture. The first mention of it dates back to the second half of the 15th century. It was small wooden church in honor of Saint Nicholas.

In 1817, a new stone church was erected in its place. A bell tower and a refectory are attached to the main building. The facade of the building has a rich burgundy color, it is decorated with white decorative elements. Inside the temple is divided into 2 thrones - in honor of the Prophet Elijah and Nicholas the Wonderworker. Since the church was summer, it was used only in the warm season.

During the Soviet era, the temple was closed. Its restoration began only in 2002, after the building was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church. In 2013, the first service was held in the temple.

Gallery of Valentin Vorobyov "Feast of the Soul"

The largest state archive of film and photo documents is located in Krasnogorsk. It was opened in 1926. Manor Nikolskoye-Uryupino

The Krasnogorsk region is famous for a large number of merchant and boyar estates. One of these attractions is the Nikolskoye-Uryupino estate. It was founded in the 17th century by Prince Odoevsky. At that time the main house and the wooden church were built.

In the 18th century, the Dolgorukov family, and then the Golitsyns, became the owners of the surrounding territories. It was the latter who built a new complex that has survived to this day. During the years of Soviet power, the buildings of the estate housed a museum, and then organizations of the Ministry of Defense. The restoration of the complex is currently underway.

The winter master's house, the White House, made in the style of classicism, and the St. Nicholas Church, handed over to believers in 1991, are in excellent condition. Partially preserved interior decoration of buildings: on the walls you can see fragments of frescoes and decoration elements.

According to the project of the architect N. Kokorin, a refectory and a high bell tower were added to the main building. In Soviet times, the temple was closed, and the only dome and bell tower were destroyed. Their restoration began in 1990 after the building of the Russian Orthodox Church was returned.

Now it is a functioning temple, the walls of which are made of red brick and elegantly decorated with white decorative elements. The church has a Sunday school and a charity canteen.

One of the most beautiful sights of the Krasnogorsk region is the Arkhangelskoye estate. It began to be built at the beginning of the 18th century by Prince Nikolai Yusupov, but his modern look the estate was acquired by his descendants in the 19th century. Initially, the facade of the temple was painted red and complemented by white kokoshniks and half-windows. The internal space is divided into two limits - Dmitry of Thessalonica and Nicholas the Wonderworker. The main building is crowned with an elegant drum, and next to it is a refectory building and a high bell tower. Even during the difficult times of the Soviet government, the temple continued to work.

In 1979, large-scale restoration work began in the church. The façade of the building was painted white, and the interior decoration was complemented by frescoes and new icons. At the beginning of the 21st century, a new iconostasis was erected in the church.

It was decided to demolish the bell tower, since it was erected much later than the main building.

Now it is a white-stone temple, the interior space of which is divided into two chapels. The decoration of the church is very modest: whitewashed walls and brick floors. Services are now held daily in the church.

Memorial column in honor of Emperor Alexander III

In the picturesque park area of ​​the Arkhangelskoye estate in the Krasnogorsk region, there is a memorial column in honor of Emperor Alexander III. It was installed in honor of the emperor's visit to the estate in 1888.

In the 19th century, almost all the rulers visited Arkhangelskoye, and a stele was erected in honor of each. Only three have survived to this day. The stele is a high stone column, on top of which is an eagle.

This bird is the emblem of Emperor Alexander III. Her wings are spread wide apart, as if she is about to take off. Around the pedestal of the stele, fresh flowers are planted, which bring a little color to the monotonous monument.

Ubory's estate is located in the village of the same name. At one time it belonged to the Sheremetev family. The manor was founded in the 16th century. A wooden temple dedicated to the Savior Not Made by Hands was erected on its territory. Then it was replaced by a stone church, which was built under the guidance of the architect Bukhvostov.

At present, only fragments of the wall, a heavily overgrown park and small parts of the buildings remind of the former grandeur of the estate. The only surviving building is the church. After a major restoration in 2008, it reopened its doors to parishioners. Divine services are regularly held here and a Sunday school is open.

Church-monument to Catherine II

A temple monument to Catherine II was erected on the territory of the Arkhangelskoye estate. It was built in 1819 according to the project of architect E.D. Tyurin and sculptor Zh.D. Rashetta. The temple is made in the likeness of an antique Roman portico. The authors here presented Catherine II in the image of the goddess of justice Themis. She sits on a throne and proudly looks straight ahead.

The sculptor M.I. Kozlovsky worked on the project of the monument. Behind the back of the empress, you can see the inscription - this is a fragment of a poem by the talented poet Torquato Tasso called "Jerusalem Liberated".

The temple is a small building consisting of a back wall and four pillars that together support the roof. Despite the lack of decorative elements, the temple attracts a lot of attention.

In 2017, the museum moved to a new renovated building, and its area has almost doubled to 500 square meters. There are two exhibition halls on the ground floor. Church of Elijah the Prophet

The church of Elijah the Prophet is located on the territory of the Ilyinskoye estate. It was founded in 1732 by order of the owner V. I. Streshnev. In the 19th century, two chapels and a bell tower appeared near the temple. The facade is made in the style of Russian baroque. The stone walls are plastered and decorated with decorative elements made of white stone.

The interior has been recently refurbished. The floor of the temple is made of stone slabs, along one of their walls there are wooden choir stalls covered with rocaille carvings. After the reconstruction of the temple in 2010, a new porcelain iconostasis was installed inside, 10 meters high. 23 icons were used in its design.

The main shrines of the church are the relics of Prince Alexander Nevsky, Saints Ambrose of Optina and Savva Storozhevsky, Saints Basil the Great and John Chrysostom. Currently, sacraments and services are regularly held in the temple.

Novogorsk forest park

The Novogorsky forest park is located on the territory of the Krasnogorsk region. It covers an area of ​​about 1768 hectares. Geographically, the forest park is divided into two parts: 60 hectares are located in the Moskovsky district, and the rest - in Krasnogorsk. A mixed spruce-birch forest grows on most of it, although occasionally there are oak and birch groves.

In 2012, a large-scale work was carried out to improve part of the forest park. Walkways, benches for rest and picnic areas were laid out. Thanks to this, the residents of the Moscow region have the opportunity to spend time outdoors with great comfort.

Walking tourist and horse trails pass through the forest park. Pedestrian bridge "Pavshinsky floodplain"

Temple of Maximus the Confessor

In the picturesque village of the Krasnogorsk region is the temple of Maxim the Confessor. It was founded in 1995 on the initiative of local resident N. S. Kislichko in memory of his son who died in the Chechen war. Thanks to the support of the local administration and the military unit in which the soldier served, it was possible to restore the destroyed temple in just one year.

Great help was provided by caring citizens who helped raise funds for the construction. The church is a low brick building. In the complex with the main building of the temple, a bell tower with a hipped roof was erected.

The church is dedicated to all the fighters who gave their lives in local conflicts. On the gates of the temple you can see a commemorative plaque about these events. Initially, the church was mostly attended by members of families whose relatives had died in the war. Over time, other parishioners began to visit the temple.

Amusement park and zoo "Otrada"
