Shenzhen - what to see, where to go and what to do here. Chinese beach

Shenzhen is little known to tourists, so today we will tell you where to go, what to see and what to do in this beautiful, green and modern city in the south of China. Our walk will be in photographs, so that by looking at them, you yourself can decide whether you should go to a certain place or take an alternative route. I hope this list interesting places, you will find it useful when you are here for the first time and plan a tour of the city, and to really get to know this metropolis, I suggest that you meet local Chinese or foreigners who will show you one of the best cities to live in from their side.

Attractions

Let's start with the sights, there are several dozen of them in one place. If you dreamed of looking at Egyptian pyramids or the Eiffel Tower, you don't have to go to Africa or Europe - with the Chinese passion for copying and the good quality of these copies, you can see this and dozens more famous tourist symbols at the Window of the World. Reproductions are made in the ratio of 1:1, 1:5 and 1:15, the entrance fee is 160 yuan. Probably, it will seem expensive for many, but the price is the same for both Chinese and foreigners. WOTW official site.

Good to know: you can reschedule your visit to the Window of the World for the evening to save money, after 18:30 the entrance ticket price is reduced to 60 yuan. The park is open until 21:00 (until 22:00 on holidays and weekends), the nearest metro station is 世界之窗 (1st, green line).

A little to the east of the Window on the World there is another theme park called Splendid China Folk Village - it presents the life, culture and traditions of various peoples of China. Here you can visit the only one in the south of China and Terracotta Army (as part of Chinese cultural heritage ). Walking through one of these parks should take at least a couple of hours. The entrance fee is also rather big - 150 yuan.

Some locals will tell you that these places are not worth visiting at all, if you want to listen to them, then let's move on to alternative options ( we ourselves will ever).

Art Quarter

You can get off at the same subway stop where Folk Village is located (green line, Qiaocheng East station) and go towards contemporary art. We go west from exit A and at the Konka factory turn north.

You can't get past the art block called OCT LOFT ( Overseas Chinese Town and despite the station of the same name from Qiaocheng East to the loft to go closer). Like, in this area you can find galleries, shops with art goods. There are exhibitions, concerts in B10 and sometimes.

Even if there are no incredible sights here, it’s worth coming and wandering around - a very cozy area, you can have a bite to eat, many recommend Cafe Idutang(not far from the entrance), we can agree: the pizza is good, Thai dishes are wonderful ( Tom yam pots want to gobble up) and it is better to get into this cafe during lunch hours (11:30 - 14:30), when you will be served a whole set of two dishes and a drink, from 52 yuan.

Another alternative places of interest may be OCT Bay quarter(there are also several galleries and restaurants). To this wonderful recreation area, you just need to go not to the north of the metro, but to the south. Past the fence behind which Splendid China is located, through the yards you will reach this oval building with fountains.

There is also tourist centre, where can get a city map for free. It is pleasant to walk here, it is quiet, in the evening the illumination of buildings pleases the eye, there is popular places and for lovers of clubs, and on the bay you can watch a laser show with fountains - very colorful and, again, you can do it for free.

Ride a bike along the boardwalk

If the weather is sunny what happens often), then a great continuation of the day would be: take a bike and ride along the embankment with a view.

If you have a bicycle in Shenzhen, then your level of happiness will be clearly higher than that of ordinary person without a bike.

Shenzhen has plenty of designated bike lanes, and you can constantly see city dwellers commuting to work or spending their day off on two wheels.

tip: A couple of places where you can rent a bike. In the Mangrove Seaside Ecology Park, you can go to the embankment and rent not only an ordinary bike, but also a tandem for two or three people to travel around with the whole family.

You can get to this park by going further south from OCT Bay or by a direct road south from the same Qiaocheng East metro ( if you don't make it to the OCT).

Take a look at how much it costs to rent bikes, for example, a regular bike is 20 yuan per hour, and the longer, the less the cost of an hour of rental.

As a deposit, you need to leave a passport and 200 yuan, upon the return of the bike, everything will be returned to you and the rolled funds will be deducted.

Bicycles are simpler and cheaper, for example, between Baishizhou Station (Line 1) and Hongshuwan. From BSZ south along the street you can find a lot of delicious street food, at the intersection of Baishi Road you can rent a bike for only 5 yuan per hour (you don’t even need to leave your passport, only 200 or 300 yuan as a deposit). Taking it, you can go south, pass the Hongshuwan station (orange line) and get to the same Mangrove Citic Bay embankment, watch the birds there and have picnics.

Dinner in a skyscraper

In the evening you can go to dinner at most high skyscraper cities— KK100. On the 99th floor, eat pizza and walk along viewing platforms enjoying the night view of Shenzhen. see some photos. The nearest metro station is Grand Theater, Exit B.

Relax in the bath. Massage and spa treatments

After a snack, it's time for water and relaxation treatments. Where do we go if suddenly a hotel room is not booked, there are no friends and acquaintances in the city, but in cheap hotels We, as foreigners, are not allowed? - Correctly, to the bath!

And this is not the only case when we go there, about all the advantages of Chinese baths, with prices and photographs, we wrote in the article:. There are many good saunas in the city (we only go to this one so far) with a different set of services included in the price of a 24-hour stay.

Science Museum

In the same area, not far from Carnival and Kingkey100, there is a fascinating, for kids and adults, Museum of Science(Science Museum metro station). You can get there for free, inside you will find several floors with interactive exhibits that show us various physical phenomena, the main thing is that you can press a button almost everywhere and something will definitely happen.

On the lower floor, you can feel like a master of the elements and arrange a tornado, though in miniature. And on the top floor there is a great game where you can upgrade your telekinesis skill and the power of thought to move the ball. You need to play together, whoever sends the ball to the opponent wins the fight. The tension is unbelievable!

Shopping. Radio market and cheap clothes

Who hasn't heard that Shenzhen is full of LED products, measuring equipment, computers, cheap iPhones and other high-tech products? We're going to Huaqiangbei, the largest electronics market in the city(Huaqiangbei, 华强北). You can get to the market from the subway station of the same name on the orange line and Huaqiang Road station on the green line.

Here you can buy a lot of garlands for yourself New Year, build your own iphone and a new supercomputer. In general, everyone who is interested in gadgets, wearables, new technologies, cheap copies and accessories for their electronic devices, it will be incredibly interesting here. There you can find a cargo company, which will help you deliver your goods from China to Russia.

As for cheap clothes, you should go to the East Gate (Dongmen) area, the nearest subway station is Laojie on the green line. Here you will not only find a huge clothing market, but you can also have a delicious bite of street food, which is very plentiful here.

Important to remember: Be careful and watch your pockets, and most importantly, do not forget to actively bargain for things, even if the price tag hangs on the product, very often this is not the final price!

Clubs, bars and parties

There is a place where crowds of immigrants from other countries gather, as well as the Chinese beau monde - this bar street at Coco Park(Metro Shopping Park, Exit C). There is no shortage of foreigners in several pubs, taverns and local clubs, and if you feel like drinking like in Europe, then you should probably go straight here on a Friday or Saturday evening. I am sure that many Russian-speaking people can be found in the Vodka bar (in the Shekou area, the nearest metro station is Shuiwan).

If parties until the morning do not appeal to you, you are tired during the day and just want to relax, then one of the options cheap housing in Shenzhen, this is Youth Hostel, which is located in OCT LOFT, a bed in a dorm there costs 75 yuan. Another accommodation option that we always recommend to travelers is couchsurfing, which more than once helped to get acquainted with interesting people, get on interesting events and completely changed our lives.

gourmet note: there is a small Tamayaki cafe at the subway exit, where you can buy 4 hot, fried balls with different fillings for 12-15 yuan, very tasty! From the Shopping Park station to the Convention & Exhibition Center you can walk along the underpass - shopping center link city. Shops with goods for the home are also full of restaurants where you can have a delicious bite to eat.

Leisure. Hiking in the mountains

Shenzhen is a great choice for those who like to climb in rough terrain ( although it is difficult to find a place here where the foot of the Chinese has not set foot), it is full of hills, hillocks and higher mountains. The most high mountain in the vicinity - Wutong (梧桐山) is located in the Luohu district. You can get there by bus, and on weekends it can be a very exhausting adventure when you share a bus with a hundred others who want to climb the mountain.

Buses number 211 depart from the same Laojie subway station (you need to cross the road), and you can walk from the final stop to the foot of the mountain. The ascent, although not the steepest, but long, a few hours up the asphalt road and you will find yourself on the Small Wuton. All the way high peak a few more hours to go.

There are a lot of mountains in and around the city (for example, Nanshan, marked), so it won’t be boring, some of our friends organize hikes to all local peaks every weekend, weather permitting.

Relax in the park

Many people love Shenzhen for its greenery throughout the year, trees, grass, curly pruned bushes... Where else to enjoy all the harmony of organizing space for leisure, if not in parks. There are a lot of them here and you should probably choose the one that is closer to where you live.

For example, take Lianhuashan Park (莲花山公园). You can depart from Lianhua North Station on the red subway line. Here you can combine an active walk and relaxation, if you climb to the top of the mountain to the statue of Deng Xiaoping, then the city offers a wonderful view. Few photos and views can be gleaned.

We wanted to go to Holland - welcome to the flower alley. The park is small, it is located north of Daxin Station (Qiánhǎihuāhuì, 前海花卉公园), on cozy streets there are several cafes and a flower market.

Not far to the east of the Taoyuan subway is big park Lixiang (荔香公园). There are no photos, something reminded Lianhuashan on the device, it is also quite suitable for picnics and relaxation from the bustle of the city.

The best beaches in the city

What is travel and life without a trip to the sea? The beaches here are also available and subjectively better than in the north or in Beihai. From Luohu to the sea to get the closest, buses are suitable for a trip there - a double-decker number 1 will take you directly to the huge Dameisha beach (Dameisha, 大梅沙). You can get on the bus at the Grand Theater metro stop, the price is 10 yuan, and you can enter the beach for free.

Although many say that it is too crowded there and the electronic accounting system can show that there are 3-5 thousand people on the beach at the same time, it does not feel at all that vacationers are lying on top of each other ( like on some beaches in southern Russia) and cannot find a place to lay out their bedding.

You may want to go to a more remote beach - it is called Xichong, it is also very popular with local residents, jump the E11 bus from the Grand Theater or ride it from the Shenzhen North station ( if we want to be sure to sit in a chair all the way) at the intersection of the red and purple branches. A couple of stops for Dapen, plus a taxi for 10 yuan per person ( or hitchhiking) and you are already in Sichon, the entrance to which costs another 13 yuan.

Conclusion

It is impossible to put everything in one article; for those who came for the first time, just enough. If you stay in Shenzhen longer, then you will certainly need sites where city events are published: shenzhenstuff.com , shenzhenparty.com and of course - you can publish an event on our website by sending us information about it via or by private message in

The first acquaintance with the Chinese beach caused a shock: a huge number of people, the conditions of staying on the beach, kilometer-long traffic jams ... The information received was taken into account before the next trip to the sea.
So, what to consider before you go on a weekend:

  1. You need to leave Shenzhen for the beach EARLY in the morning! To slip through the traffic jam, otherwise everything can drag on for long hours of waiting. On weekends, all the Chinese go to the beach together, so it is important not to get into this stream. On the road, in case you get stuck in a traffic jam, you need to stock up on food and water so that in which case there is an opportunity to refresh yourself.

  2. You need to book your hotel BEFORE. Don't count on a large number of hotels, in fact, all rooms may be occupied and then you will have to spend the night on the beach. In July, an unprecedented influx of Chinese, housing prices are high - from 400 yuan / night.

  3. If possible, arrive and depart on a weekday. Because of such long journeys, a lot of time and effort is wasted, and as a result, only a few hours are left for rest. It turns out not rest, but continuous torment.

  4. Upon arrival at the beach, it is better to go to the side, away from the main entrance, so as not to get into the epicenter of the Chinese crowd. It is quieter there, there are not so many people and you can swim everywhere, and not only in specially designated places.

  5. Sunscreen and a hat are a must! The sun can be very hot and it is not always possible to hide from it.

  6. In local establishments, the menu is exclusively in Chinese and without pictures. But you can always order what is cooked on the grill) In some you can meet English-speaking Chinese, but this is rather an exception. To meet them is a real blessing. They can tell you where to go, where to buy, etc.

  7. You need to have time to go back in the direction to Shenzhen before 18:00! And it is better even earlier, in order to slip through the traffic jam formed from the flow of Chinese hurrying home.

This time we visitedDong Chong beach. It's surrounded by these cute little hotels. It's very cozy here. The hotels and rooms are small and clean. In general, very good.

The air here is incredibly clean! Sea, mountains and lush vegetation - a magnificent landscape!

On the beach, you can rent a tent with a table and chairs for 100 yuan for the whole day. And shade from the sun, and shelter from the rain, and you can have lunch. There are also cafes on the beach. But it is better to eat there only in case of urgent need.

It is better to buy fruit. Very often you can meet an uncle or aunt with such baskets selling longan, lychee and rambutan. Tasty and healthy.

There are few people on the beach. Most appear in the evening, mainly to take pictures and stand in circles)

Many families have holidays with children. Children frolic near the water. On any beach you can definitely meet a little superman) Such suits are very popular.

It is worth noting that the water is very salty. If you dive, then the eyes directly corrode. The color of the water here is more greenish, not as rusty as on Dameisha beach. The beach is relatively clean. But here and there you come across half-empty water bottles and fruit skins.

To diversify your leisure time, you can rent a surfboard (150 yuan / 3 hours) or go boating.

We enjoyed this trip more than the previous one. The main thing is to plan everything clearly!

There are several types of entertainment on the coast: riding a jet ski, riding a banana. Nearby is a surfer club where you can ride a surfboard.

For me personally, DaMeisha beach is the most acceptable option, since it can be reached from the city center in 1.5 hours by public transport(closer than to other beaches), I swim away from the general mass along 1.5 km of the protection strip. There are showers, lockers, places for storing shoes on the beach, there are cafes and restaurants for different wallets, and there are several restaurants along the beach. hotels, you can book here:

The cost of the entrance ticket last year was 30 yuan, at the time of mine at the end of July 2017 the cost was 50 yuan, but the price does not limit the number of people who want to visit the seashore, there are also a lot of them on weekends. All services are also paid: luggage room 25 yuan and 30 yuan deposit, shower with cold water 12 yuan, with hot water 18 yuan.

Dong Chong Beach

Located on the Da Peng Peninsula, 10 km from XiChong Beach. In addition to being accessible by road, the beach can be reached on foot from XiChong Beach. The tourist trail is laid along the rocky hills along the seashore. The views at the same time are impressive. You can also practice rock climbing on the route (if you want to bypass the paved paths)

And on the way between the beaches, you can also take natural natural baths.

The infrastructure on the beach is more developed compared to XiChong Beach. There is a greater variety of hotels, restaurants, cafes, beautiful places for photography. The beach is also big and long.

Accordingly, there are more local people on the beach. The water is clean and pleasant. The water area is divided into zones: areas for swimming and areas for motorized swimming facilities. Many tourists are transported by motorboats to San Men Island, where there are beaches and where the Chinese offer diving.

Yang Mei Keng beach

Located at the other end of the Da Peng Peninsula. The water is clean, crystal clear, there are not many people, there is also no infrastructure, only small shops along the road.

It is located in the south of China in the Pearl River Delta (Pearl River). It is one of the most visited tourist centers in the country. Shenzhen receives more than 80 million tourists annually.

Shenzhen is a tourist city

The city has a large number of picturesque parks and gardens. The abundance of fruits is striking, among which the most popular are lychees, pears, oranges and mangoes.

Climate of Shenzhen

The climate of Shenzhen is subtropical, with an average annual temperature of 22.3 degrees. The bright sun shines here all year round and even during the rainy season, which lasts from July to August, you can get badly burned. From October to December, the dry season begins - this time is considered the best time to visit the city.

In Shenzhen, tourists are waiting for sandy beaches, high-quality shopping, interesting excursions to theme parks, golf courses, nightclubs and the opportunity to taste various dishes national cuisine in numerous restaurants and cafes. It offers tourists - metro, buses and taxis, with which you can easily move around the city.

Shenzhen beaches

Since Shenzhen is a young city, there are few historical sights here, but it can boast of its own sandy beaches. The total length of the coastline is 230 km.

The most popular beaches on the coast of Dapeng Bay are Da Mei Sha and Xiao Mei Sha. The first beach is considered public, most of the hotels are located here. Entrance to Xiao Mei Sha beach is paid and costs about 20 yuan. In addition to these two beaches, you can visit the beaches of Xichun, Defu, Shuishatou and Xiyong.

Shopping in Shenzhen

There are no branded souvenirs in Shenzhen, but here you can buy souvenirs from all over China. Many Hong Kong residents come to Shenzhen to shop because the same quality items are much cheaper here.

The large Tongbao flea market sells used electronics, furniture, computers, but you shouldn’t come here for that. On the territory next to the market, numerous stalls sell clothes, shoes and toys. All this is made at Shenzhen factories by order of foreign companies. As a rule, more than ordered is always produced. Unredeemed over-circulation goes to the market. Fans of expensive and beautiful shops should head to CITIC Plaza. There are boutiques and shops selling expensive brands, as well as several excellent coffee shops.

Sights of Shenzhen

The combination of a relaxing holiday on the sea coast with the vibrant, vibrant life of a large metropolis makes Shenzhen especially attractive for tourists from all over the world.

The main attractions of Shenzhen include: the theme parks "Magnificent China", "Window to the World", "Chinese Folk Village" and the amusement park "Happy Valley".

Everyone who comes to Shenzhen tries to make time to visit the famous beaches of this city. Coastline there is a long one - 230 km, so there are many recreation areas. However, the most attractive are Da Mei Sha (大梅沙) and Xiao Mei Sha (小梅沙). They were chosen by Russians who have long lived in Shenzhen.

But even between these closely spaced beaches, there is an unspoken competition in which Da Mei Sha usually wins. These are two kilometers of golden sand washed by azure water, coconut palms, mountains on three sides and sculptures - symbols of happiness. The beauty here is truly fabulous. Well, there is still a plus - the beach is free, which is important for travelers. Of course, you have to pay for something, but these are additional pleasures that are attached to natural beauty: soaring over the sea on a parachute, prancing on the sand on a horse, etc. However, just lying on the fine gentle sand for free, admiring the picturesque picture, is very pleasant. In addition, it is in this area that the Overseas Chinese Town East is located, which includes two parks - Ecoventure Valley and Tea Stream Resort Valley. How poetic the Chinese are - having heard such names, it is simply impossible to refuse a walk in at least one park. In addition, it is so beautiful there that all the time I want to take photos of Shenzhen, so that later I can review them at home and remember the trip. Waterfall, forest, Swiss village, breweries, ancient city tea, a golf course ... That's for sure - the imagination of the creators of the park has no limits. Naturally, cafes also work, where it is so pleasant to sit, enjoying oriental delicacies.

Russians living in Shenzhen, who have long chosen this beach, recommend taking at least a large towel and slates with you - the sand is very hot there, so you still have to buy. Umbrellas help out a little, which can be rented for 40 yuan, but you will need to pay a deposit of 100 yuan. Swimming areas are fenced with buoys, there are always a lot of people there, and it is not always possible to sail away - vigilant attendants return to the "zone". Europeans note one drawback - there is no shower, nowhere to rinse from sea water. At the same time, everyone says that the water there is soft and not very salty.

The beaches of Shenzhen are not very far from the city - it takes about an hour and a half to Da Mei Sha from the Window of the World park in the center. The ticket costs 8 yuan. The road does not tire, because the view from the window is excellent, and the bus itself is quite comfortable.

If for some reason you don’t like the free beach, you can move to another one - Xia Mei Sha, the entrance to which costs 30 yuan. You can stay there all night and, if you wish, swim by the light of lanterns. This beach is very close to Da Mei Sha. Experienced travelers say that you can not take the bus, but take a walk - the road is pleasant, walking distance is less than an hour. You can even go straight along the landscaped coastal path. A wave splashes at your feet, a breeze blows your face ... Well, isn't it nice?

Xia Mei Sha is slightly smaller than Da Mei Sha, but they are very similar. They differ, perhaps, only in that the Chinese like to stay there for the night, so on weekends the beach turns into a tent city.

In any case, both beaches provide a great opportunity to relax and enjoy your vacation. And there is also the Xiaomeisha Sea World Park (Shenzhen Xiaomeisha Sea World). It is he who is usually called Eastern Hawaii. With the love of the Chinese for gigantomania, this is also not just a park, but a whole complex, which includes the Ocean Garden, the Poseidon Garden, Turtle Island and other interesting objects.

Russians in Shenzhen appreciated these particular beaches, although you can choose something else. For example, Rose Coast with fine-grained sand. For lovers of fishing there is a special pier that goes straight to open sea. Rose beach Coast is located in Shangdong Village near Kuichong Township, Longan District. There are more such interesting beaches like Dongchong Beach and Xichong Beach. There are excellent conditions for lovers of surfing and fishing, but there is a significant drawback for tourists - it is difficult to get there, because far from the city, you will have to spend a lot of time. First you need to come to Nan'ao on the E11 bus, and then transfer to the "black" van going to the beach. But you can put up a tent there. By the way, it's quite romantic, especially if you don't have much money. Sleep under the stars, sea air, sunrises and sunsets…

And yet the Chinese would not be Chinese if they left the Shenzhen Beaches as just a recreation area, their business plans were originally designed for more substantial profits. So around these wonderful places well developed infrastructure. If possible, it is worth renting a room at the Sheraton Dameisha Resort with a private "piece" of Da Mei Sha. You don’t want to go to the sea - there are swimming pools, and also spa and fitness centers. Rest, so rest! Well, or, for example, a room in the Pattaya Hotel not far from the Sheraton. The rooms are decorated ancient siam, next to the park.

Of course, many travelers choose not so pretentious hotels, because they come to see as much as possible and have a good rest, rather than sit in a room. Therefore, they prefer hotels like " bed breakfast". For example, "Aloha beach club”, where, among other things, you can rent equipment for marine species sports. It is important that in this place there is almost always a breeze, necessary for the same windsurfers. You can get there by buses No. H92 or E11 to the Dapeng stop, and then a little more by taxi. Many people like that this hotel offers a European menu, there is always coffee and soups.

Shenzhen is "lucky" - it is located on the coast of the South China Sea, in the subtropics. Therefore, it is simply a heavenly place for lovers. beach holiday. In addition, the beach itself can be chosen depending on your interests and financial capabilities. In any case, if you already had a chance to come to these places, at least one day on the beach is worth spending. Relax, swim, sunbathe and take a photo of Shenzhen as a memory of a wonderful trip.
