Reserved seat 3d or 3e which is better. Category F in a reserved seat car - decoding of the categories of Russian Railways

When purchasing a train ticket, passengers may have questions regarding the interpretation of the alphanumeric designation indicated on the ticket as 2K or 1C. The combination of characters can be any, as well as the information hidden behind them. To know what is hidden behind such a combination of numbers and letters means to understand what class of wagon is meant and which list additional services can be counted.

We will consider the marking of wagons proposed by the Federal Passenger Company, but other carriers have the right to establish it at their discretion.

A ticket for such a carriage provides for a standard number of boarding seats (from 52 to 54).

Differences from other classes of service

Unlike more comfortable service classes, in which there are many services such as:

  • fresh press;
  • hygiene kit;
  • dry closet;
  • nutrition;

In the conditions of the reserved seat All of the above services are not provided. Compared to the second-class carriage, which has a door that separates four berths from a common corridor, there is no door in the reserved seat. Therefore, this type is called open. This name implies the possibility for passengers to always be in sight of the conductors and other people occupying neighboring seats.

Important! Unlike other classes, the reserved seat has side shelves, which is why the shelves located in the compartment part are slightly smaller than in the compartment car.

The side shelf is an outlet for many tourists who want to urgently move from one locality in another. However, riding on the side shelf is extremely inconvenient due to people passing by. The main difference from the places of increased comfort "SV" remains that the shelves of third-class passengers are not soft, but hard.

If a dry closet is not guaranteed in 3D, then it can be concluded that going to the restroom during stops at the stations will be prohibited.

In those classes of service where a dry closet is provided, this difficulty will not arise.

Differences from other passenger service classes are obvious, but one should not think that 3D is inconvenient inside. A comfortable atmosphere has been created there, where you can not only make a trip and get to know other passengers. A table provided between two lower places, allows you to eat and drink drinks. Therefore, even in the budget version, you can find pluses.

What does the number in this marking mean?

AT railway transport There are three classes of service.

The first is considered the most comfortable, and the second is a compartment, that is, places located in a space closed by a door.

The reserved seat belongs to the third lowest class of service. Therefore, the number "3" in front of the letter means the class of service. It is preferred by people who do not want to spend a lot of money on moving. It is not suitable for multi-day trips and for families with children.

Letter decoding

Many Internet users are trying to understand the meaning of the letter "D" and other symbols. In this regard, there are many speculations that do not correspond to reality. In fact, this letter was chosen simply to designate this type of wagon and does not imply any abbreviation behind it. It does not indicate a certain degree of comfort during the trip.

Services included in the ticket price

When purchasing a ticket to travel in third class, it is important to know about the services included in the price. The ticket price includes the following services:

  1. transportation of a passenger from one locality to another.
  2. The seat assigned to the passenger.
  3. Possibility to transport a pet.

Reference! Other additional services can be purchased for a fee. These include bed linen and food purchased from the conductor.

Pros and cons of such a car

A 3D-marked car does not differ in increased convenience and has its drawbacks:

However, along with the negatives, This trip has its perks.. These include:

  1. saving money on a trip from one locality to another.
  2. Travel safety due to the absence of doors in separate compartments. Many passengers are frightened at the mere thought of having to be in an enclosed space with strangers.
  3. The ability to bring a four-legged friend with you, which is not available in many other classes and types of transportation. For people who have a dog or a cat, this is a way out of the current situation if there is a need for an urgent move of pets.

    This is also important for passengers moving to another city, but who do not want to part with their pet.

When choosing a ticket for a certain type of service, you need to pay attention to even the smallest details. This is important for making the right choice.

A wagon with a 3D type marking is a budget option for a short trip by rail. When boarding a train, it is already impossible to cancel anything and you will have to endure some inconvenience until the end of the trip if you do not take care of them in time.

When going on a train journey, it is important to know which class of carriages to choose. All of them differ in and directly affect the cost of the trip. On each railway ticket has an alphanumeric character. For example, 3O or 1C. It indicates the class of the wagon and the list of additional services included in the price. In the article, we will consider the marking of cars developed by the Federal Passenger Company (a subsidiary of Russian Railways). Please be aware that other rail carriers may use different designations.

It's worth looking into it in more detail.

Classification and characteristics of passenger cars of Russian Railways

Before purchasing tickets, customers must find out which compartments are available.

Modern passenger car

There are several types in Russian Railways:

  1. Without berths - the cabin resembles an economy class aircraft. The rows of seats are separated by a single aisle in the middle. If the train is suburban, then the seats will be hard, if the interregional - soft. However, such trains are not designed for a long journey.
  2. The common car is the same reserved seat, but there people sit together in threes on the shelves below. The upper ones are either not used or missing.
  3. With sleeping quarters. This is a reserved seat car, where there are open (without doors) compartments, where 4 standard seats. Opposite, through the passage, two side. Luggage folds down below, under the lower shelves.
  4. Compartment cars have 9 identical 4-seater compartments, each equipped with sliding doors. Inside 4 separate places, there is luggage compartment(below, under the lower shelves).
  5. Sleeping cars with increased comfort. They contain compartments Lux (or SV). Also 9 identical compartments, but each has 2 seats, usually at the bottom. In many ways, the equipment is similar to compartment cars, just more comfort.
  6. Premium wagons. They are available on tourist trains. There are only 4-5 compartments in the car due to their large size. Inside, in addition to sleeping places, there can be armchairs, a bathroom (toilet, shower), TV, etc.
  7. Double-deck cars are rare on Russian Railways trains. As a rule, these are luxury carriages. Now they are available on trains from Moscow to Voronezh, St. Petersburg and other cities. They allow you to carry more passengers, which affects the cost of the ticket.
  8. Freight wagons. They carry out cargo transportation throughout Russia. The equipment and appearance of the wagons differ depending on the type of cargo they carry. If these are liquid substances, then there are special large containers (refrigerators) for them. If the material is loose - closed sealed wagons. For large cargoes, semi-open or open wagons are designed, where you can secure the cargo. In addition to appearance, they differ in size, shape and carrying capacity.

In addition to Russian Railways, other Russian railway companies are engaged in transportation, although their share in the railway transportation market is still small.

train though not faster than an airplane but still much cheaper. Therefore, it remains one of the most popular species transportation for people traveling long distances. Trains are different, and the categories of cars in them also differ. For example, on your ticket you can see the mark "reserved seat 3L". What does this mean, and how does it differ, say, from the 3U reserved seat?

Trains are passenger and fast. The second, as the name implies, will bring you to your destination much faster due to fewer stops. But it will affect the price of the ticket in a big way.

There are ambulances own design and superior service. As a rule, each of them has its own name and convenient schedule. Otherwise, fast and passenger trains are practically the same. In addition to the type and number of the train, on the ticket you will see the number of your car and seat, as well as the class of service. The trains have their own classification of alphanumeric designations. For example, 1B means business class.

Reserved seat 3L: what does it mean?

Mysterious letter designations can confuse an inexperienced passenger. For example, on the ticket you saw the designation "reserved seat 3L". What does it mean? Most likely, there is no air conditioning in such a car. In the cold season, this circumstance is of little concern to anyone, but if you are traveling in the heat, it can be a decisive factor when choosing tickets.

The reserved seat car is one of the most popular on Russian Railways. Tickets in them are cheaper, although the quality is inferior to SV and luxury cars. Such wagons are of an open type with sleeping berths. In total, there can be 52 or 54 seats in the car. They are designated 3rd class due to the lack of air conditioning. True, as the cars are updated, air conditioners are still being installed in modern trains.

For example, the modern carrier TKS installs everything for the convenience of passengers even in class 3U cars: air conditioning, dry closets and showers. There is also video surveillance, and there are convenient sockets for charging mobile devices.

What else does a passenger need to know about a reserved seat car?

  • If you got a place 37-54, then this is the so-called "sidebar". The sleeping shelves in them are shorter than usual.
  • Seats 33-38 are located in close proximity to the toilet. On the one hand, it is convenient, on the other hand, unpleasant odors and constant slamming of doors can disturb you.
  • If you got the car without air conditioning, please note that it will not be possible to open the window in places from 9 to 12 and from 21 to 24. However, in new trains, the ventilation system will smooth out this drawback.
  • Each carriage has two toilets. In them you will find a washbasin, toilet bowl and titanium for heating water.
  • All compartments are connected by a common corridor, there are no doors between them.
  • The top place is indicated by an even number, and the bottom by an odd number.
  • Each reserved seat compartment has a table (“sideboard” folds out to form a table and two seats).

  • There is more than enough space for luggage in the reserved seat: there are third luggage racks on top and boxes under the lower seats.
  • When the car is fully occupied, get ready for the fact that it will be cramped and stuffy (relevant for summer trips). AT branded train Russian Railways, whose tickets are sold out faster, the situation is not so critical. After all, the cars in them are more comfortable and cleaner, equipped with dry closets and air conditioners, and there are more sockets.

Differences in 3rd class carriages

Many passengers are interested in how the reserved seat 3U differs from 3L. In principle, nothing: these cars are the same, have an identical number of seats and offer the same standard services. However, there is an important factor that those who travel with animals should be aware of. You need to choose the memory car, having warned at the box office that a pet is coming with you. The reserved seat 3L does not provide for the transportation of animals, which, however, cannot but please individual passengers.

Features of individual wagons

Second-class carriages of non-compartment type have 54 shelves, and common carriages - 81 seats. Each compartment car has 36 seats - 4 in each compartment. When choosing a shelf, keep in mind that the bottom ones will always be odd.

Each passenger car has a two-seat compartment for official purposes. Here the conductors rest. In some cases, the compartment of conductors is given to passengers, and they themselves are located in the first passenger compartment. In luxury cars, all seats are usually lower - there are 16 or 18 in total, depending on the car. In the extreme compartment there is one place and, as a rule, the conductor occupies it. International carriages are divided into compartments depending on the class. They can have 22 or 33 shelves, that is, they can be double or triple.

We found out what the cars are like in domestic trains, and what you should consider if you got a reserved seat 3L. What this means, we also considered, now the trips will become more comfortable for you.
