041 h train seats. Seating on the train

8 passengers, working sockets and paper towels in the toilet. The seated car of the Vologda-Moscow train turned out to be not as bad as its “colleagues” who pass through our city. Of course, there were cons (this is Russian Railways, baby!), But at a price of 542 rubles 30 kopecks per ticket, they can be stoically - but sitting - endure

The journey began pathetically - at some point I was even afraid that they would turn on Gazmanov, as they do at the Leningradsky railway station in honor of the arrival of the Sapsan. Still, not every train departs from the first platform, and even from the first path. The last thing you expect from me is such a surprise: the train is not branded, even in the compartment car there is a hole on the street instead of a toilet, old seats, old lighting, old wall paneling, old everything. But the way is the first. Fortunately, there were no Gazmanov (the songs were included later).

2C - class of the seated car of train No. 129Ya. Marking "2C" hints that there is air conditioning on board

My car for the poor is the only one in the composition: the rest are reserved seats and compartments. Probably, in order to cheer up the owners of the cheapest tickets, the car was given the proud number 1 and “parked” exactly opposite the exit from the station. In addition, there was no queue near car No. 1, but there were queues near the rest. I got inside so quickly that I didn't have time to feel the frost. It was warm and clean there.

The seated car accommodates a crowd of people (60 people), but we, its passengers, set off with eight of us. The rest of the cars seemed to be under the eyeballs.

In No. 1, "reserved seats" went to the toilet so as not to stand in line at their place. The toilet is a hole in the floor, but water was flowing from the washbasin, and a roll of paper towels hung on the wall. On the approaches to settlements and during stops the booth was not closed (thank you!).

8 hours 55 minutes - travel time ( branded trains spend 20-50 minutes less, but there are no sit-down cars)

Even "reserved seats" charged our phones - sockets worked with a bang. I don’t know how many there are, but there are two for sure: near the water boiler opposite the conductors’ compartment and above seat number 7. An interesting detail: in the car where the sockets work, the curtains on the windows do not work. At least not all of them work.

There was water in the boiler, since I mentioned it. Hot. Brew bichika or teraflu (winter, cold) - just spit. In addition, the conductors offered tea, coffee and chocolates. This is already for the money, but everything is pleasant early.

In general, they - the conductors - turned out to be very polite and accommodating.

Departure from Vologda at 21.12 on Thursdays until 10.12.2015 (the train runs irregularly)

At this place, I remembered the seated car of the Vorkuta train, which is also to Moscow. If you went, then guess that these are not the most pleasant memories. Passengers occupy any seats, although the tickets indicate specific ones, the conductor does not care about anything and is generally fine if he is not drunk; closeness, full of people, hopelessness.

And here - ok.

53 minutes - the longest stop (Danilov, arrival at 23.32). Total intermediate stops 5

What's the catch? I think, in two persons of Caucasian nationality, Vasya, who took the most trump places: No. 1 (odd - at the window) and No. 2. Trump, because there you can stretch your legs. Straight out completely! And there's also a handy table attached to the wall.

These two filled the shelves with a pile of suitcases, spoke loudly in an incomprehensible language and turned on the phone in a circle “Woman, I don’t dance,” “No one writes to the Colonel,” and something Arabic. In Yaroslavl they left.

But about 20 people came in. Mostly boys and girls in their 20s and 30s, men and women a little over 50. No screaming children, crazy old people and eaters of grilled chicken mixed with boiled eggs and pickled cucumbers. Isn't it lovely?

Somewhere in 4 hours was Moscow.

Often, ordinary people believe that seated cars (intercity or long-distance) and general ones are one and the same, which is a delusion. Common cars are ordinary, where seating is organized on the lower shelves, that is, up to three passengers can sit on one shelf. If we consider such a journey from the point of view of comfort, then riding the three of us on a ledge is extremely tiring. Of course, sometimes kind guides allow you to take places on the upper shelves, but often mattresses, bed linen or luggage are “lain down” there.

seated wagons

Outwardly, it is difficult for a non-specialist to distinguish a seated car from a compartment, reserved seat or general car. However, in the cabin it becomes clear what a seated car looks like and how it differs from other types of cars. Scheme of places in seated car the train resembles the interior of a bus: there are twin seats on both sides of the aisle. They are quite comfortable, soft and can be folded back to take a nap for an hour or two in a reclining position.

It should be noted that when buying railway tickets on the Internet, you can make a mistake with the choice of a place, since the laid out plan of a seated car does not always correspond to reality. The fact is that the modifications of the wagons can be different. However, the numbering of seats in a seated car is always the same: odd-numbered seats are located near the windows, and even-numbered ones are near the aisle. If you are one of the passengers who like to take a walk and stretch their legs several times during the trip, then in order not to disturb your neighbor, it is better to purchase tickets for even-numbered seats.

Luggage is conveniently transported on special shelves, which are placed along the rows of seats. According to the standards established by Russian Railways, passengers can, in the form hand luggage carry up to 36 kilograms of luggage.

In most cars, there are folding plastic shelves on the backs of the seats, which serve as comfortable tables for eating at the back of the seated passengers. In this case, the tables are always, regardless of the position of the chair, are in a horizontal position. In cars where the seats are located opposite each other, of course, there are no such tables.

Seated cars are divided into classes: economy (68 or 63 seats), business class (43 seats) and first class (10 seats).

Additional amenities

As with any other types of carriages, there are toilets in the seated carriages. Moreover, in the new cars these are dry closets, which allows them not to be closed during stops and the passage of sanitary zones. The toilet should have the following items: toilet paper, soap, paper towels, mirror. In addition, the car has a service compartment for conductors, two vestibules at both ends of the car.

There is an opinion that in seated cars, as in common or reserved seats, conflicts can often arise between passengers, because the audience is quite “motley”. Believe me, these cars are mostly used by representatives of the middle business class, whose goal is to quickly, comfortably and without complications get to their destination, so you should not worry. In addition, there are always representatives of the traffic police on the train, so any conflicts are stopped immediately.

If you happen to spend several hours on the road, then traveling in a seated car will be quite comfortable. But keep in mind, spending eight to ten or more hours in such a car is very difficult. What can we say about those who can’t even sit in one place for ten minutes! But you are not alone in the car, and you will have to reckon with the opinion of other passengers. In such cases, it is better to buy tickets for compartment cars, especially since the difference in price will not be so significant.

Our glorious Russian Railways JSC constantly takes care of us - ordinary citizens, making it possible to move around the country not only with convenience and comfort, but also cheaply.

Seated car Samara - Moscow

For example, consider train number 55 "Samara - Moscow" and a similar one going in the opposite direction. The prices on the page are taken from the official website of Russian Railways and are current as of March 26, 2012. This indicates that the Russian railways seasonal adjustment factors are introduced annually to the cost of tickets, due to which ticket prices can fluctuate significantly both in one direction and in the other. Here we will consider only this option, but it should be borne in mind that there are a great many trains with seated cars running around Russia, so if you want to choose the right option, it will not be difficult.

Sit-down car - prices

So, the cost of a seat in the compartment car of the specified train from Samara to Moscow is: 2737 rubles 40 kopecks.

A reserved seat will cost 1077 rubles 30 kopecks.

A seat in a seated car is the cheapest, 595 rubles 90 kopecks.

RUB 1077.3 - 595.9 rubles. = 481.4 rubles for a reserved seat car, which is much less compared to a compartment, but still quite significant.

Now about the route: the train leaves Samara at 12-33, arrival at the Kazansky railway station in Moscow at 06-03, total time the journey in this way is 17 hours 30 minutes.

The train follows the route: SAMARA - NOVOKUIBYSHEVSK - CHAPAEVSK - BEZENCHUK - OBSHAROVKA - SYZRAN- KUZOVATOVO - BARYSH - BAZARNAYA - INZA - NIGHT - RUZAYEVKA- SASOVO - RYAZAN- MOSCOW KAZ.

Stations in bold are marked at which the train stops for 10 minutes or more, you can get out and stretch your legs.

Seated car - layout of seats

Now, actually, about the car. The seated car should not be confused with the common car. The shared car is a normal econom-class train, the lower shelves of which have seating. 3 places per lower shelf, including side ones. From the point of view of convenience, it is very tiring to ride the three of us on the same ledge. Well, if good conductors come across and are allowed to occupy the free upper shelves, then some of the passengers will go lying down, and together on the same shelf of a reserved seat car you can sit quite comfortably.

Seated car layout of seats. Black rectangles toilets.

But this is not always the case, mattresses are usually located on the second shelves, and the conductor is different for the conductor.

Outwardly, a seated car is no different from a reserved seat or compartment car, at least for a non-specialist.

A sitting car is a car with seats on both sides of the aisle, similar to a bus. The seats are soft, recline, the body can take a reclining position.
For those who purchase tickets via the Internet, I want to immediately warn you that the layout of seats for this type of car, which was provided by Russian Railways on its website, does not always correspond to reality. Several modifications of carriages run along the route, so if you buy a seat allegedly at the end of the carriage, you may even end up at the beginning. The only thing you need to remember: odd places are always by the window, even ones are by the aisle. Therefore, if you are a smoker, prefer an even seat at the aisle so as not to disturb your neighbor, this is especially important at night, when most passengers are sleeping.
All photos were taken on camera mobile phone in poor lighting conditions. The image quality leaves much to be desired, for which I apologize. If you want to see it better, please enlarge the photo.

Classic sitting car. The survey was made from the center of the car.

Passengers are on the ground, the train has started! Please note that luggage racks are provided at the top above the rows of seats. The baggage allowance is the same as for a reserved seat car. You can carry 36 kilograms per passenger free of charge.

Usually on the back of the chair in front there is a folding table for eating.
In the reclined position, it always has a horizontal position, regardless of whether the front seat is upright or reclined.
There are, of course, unpleasant moments when a table is missing due to a breakdown, or is not provided structurally (for example, near the central partition or in places where the seats are facing each other, there is such a modification of the car).
But this does not create much inconvenience.
The photo shows a folding table near the central partition of one of the modifications of the seated car.

Tables are not available in all carriages.

Sitting car - toilet

The toilet in the car makes a favorable impression. Toilet paper and paper towels are always available. Most of the carriages have dry closets, so that the toilet does not close at stops. General impression such that the toilet in a seated car at the end of the journey is cleaner and less polluted than the toilet in a reserved seat car. It's amazing, but it's true.

In the toilet there is a large mirror, soap, toilet paper, paper towels are always available. The toilet area is larger than in a reserved seat car (at least that's the impression).

Sitting car - the impression of the trip

Now for the trip itself. What to keep in mind. When departing from Samara (at 12-33), the car is never filled to capacity. Moreover, taking into account the fact that Russian Railways LLC always keeps a reservation for free tickets almost until the very departure, empty seats inevitably appear in second-class and compartment cars.

Conductors offer passengers of seated cars, for an additional fee, to move to cars with more high class and some of the passengers pass, freeing up their purchased seat (and when there is free space nearby that no one occupies, it's nice). Further on the road, some of the passengers get off, another gets on, but the car is completely filled only in Ruzaevka (at 20-09) and further up to Moscow (06-03) it goes almost completely filled.

When departing from Moscow (departure at 14-08), the situation is diametrically opposite.
The car leaves full and goes like this to Ruzaevka.
In Ruzayevka (at 23-57) most of the passengers get off, almost half and then the car goes half empty, and the absence of a neighbor creates additional convenience for the remaining passengers.
The train arrives in Samara at 07-48, which is very convenient, the morning has just begun, all public transport is working.

Train from Moscow. We passed Ruzaevka. Half of the passengers got out. Deep night. People is resting

Sit-down car - safety

Some citizens are afraid to ride in a seated car for fear of brawlers and hooligans. I want to reassure people about this. There are no more such cases than in the reserved seat. Firstly, the same passengers as you are traveling next to you, who just want to calmly get to their destination. Secondly, the train is patrolled by a traffic police squad, which is always ready to restore order, but even without it, the conductors easily control the situation on their territory.

So I'm sure the trip will be enjoyable!

And when you come to Samara, you can buy very cheap for yourself and your loved ones

In their appearance, seated cars are a bit like an airplane cabin or intercity bus. Here are the same free-standing soft chairs with armrests, but much more space. The knees do not rest against the front seat, sometimes you can fully stretch your legs. It is possible to walk along the carriage, stand in the vestibule or tilt the back of the chair and sleep peacefully.

In the carriage, odd-numbered seats are always at the window, even-numbered seats are always at the aisle. At the top there are long solid shelves for luggage - like in an electric train. Often there is a folding table on the back of the chair in front. The car usually has two toilets, but some trains have only one.

Seated cars differ greatly in location, number of seats and classes of service, so there is no single scheme for them.

Scheme of the car of train No. 102YA "Moscow - Yaroslavl"

It is difficult for many people to travel in a seated carriage for a long time - the whole body becomes numb. For example, two days on the Moscow-Vorkuta train. It makes sense to take seats for such distances if you want to save a lot, otherwise you should stay on a reserved seat or coupe. It is convenient to travel no more than 5-10 hours in a seated carriage. These are, for example, day express trains between Moscow and St. Petersburg or Nizhny Novgorod and Kirov.

The main advantage of seated cars as part of conventional trains is the price of the trip. A ticket in them will cost an average of one and a half times cheaper than in a reserved seat on the same route. But this does not apply to some high-speed seated trains (Peregrine Falcons, Swifts), the fare in which is much higher than the same reserved seat. But they will also do it much faster.

The Sapsan accelerates to 250 km/h and covers the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg in 4 hours, which takes more than 8 hours for an ordinary train. This is especially true for business trips, where literally every minute counts. Therefore, in the first class of Sapsan there are special compartments for negotiations. A ticket there must be purchased separately at the box office of Russian Railways.

The convenience of seating strongly depends on the train (Nevsky Express, double-decker Moscow-Bryansk, etc.) and on the class of the car in this train (economy, business, etc.). FPC's seating cars are divided into 3 classes according to the level of comfort.

"1C" - first class. It is spacious here (up to 48 seats in the car). Usually there are three rows of seats, there is air conditioning, a comfortable table. Each chair folds out into a reclining position. The ticket price usually includes meals (cold snacks) and travel kit (soap, napkins, etc.). An LCD TV is often installed under the ceiling in the aisle.

"2C" - second class. Up to 68 seats in the car - there are already four rows of seats. There may be a small folding table on the back of the front seat. Air conditioning is not guaranteed.

"3C" - third class. The cheapest and least convenient of all three classes. More than 68 places. Probably no air conditioning.

High-speed train "Strizh", 1st class car

Trains numbered 801 to 898 have the same seating classes as listed above, but with a lower level of comfort. More places in the car of each class - for example, in the 1st class up to 60 seats. And in the 3rd class (3C), the interior looks like in an ordinary train (triple benches instead of chairs).

There are also double-decker sit-down trains, for example, No. 45/46 Moscow-Voronezh. They are better than ordinary trains: all the cars are new and there are nice little things (sockets at each seat, etc.), and the price is significantly lower compared to single-decker trains.

In high-speed seated trains, as a rule, there is also a 1st and 2nd class, but they are much more comfortable than cars in ordinary trains. Each train has its own set of additional services: wi-fi, leather seats with a footrest, seats that can be rotated in the direction of travel, a dining car, and so on. Allegro (St. Petersburg-Helsinki route) even has a children's playroom.

On Tutu.ru, in the "Trains" section, there are separate seating charts for many sit-down trains, including popular and.

The sit-down train "Lastochka" has a speed of up to 160 km/h. It is used as a high-speed train on flights lasting up to 4 hours. "Lastochka" runs on many routes in the European part of Russia. All wagons are of the same class. The seats do not change the slope of the back, and the toilets are located only in the first and last car. Tickets for Lastochka are inexpensive, cheaper than all other trains on these routes.

When buying a train ticket for Tutu.ru, for some trains the direction of travel is indicated (on the seat selection page). This allows you to choose convenient places not to ride backwards.

Tickets for trains with seated cars can be bought at Tutu.ru.

When buying a train ticket via the Internet, you may notice that each car belongs to a class. They are abbreviated as 2K, 2L, 1C, 3E, etc. The essence of the designation is to show the passenger the type of carriage (reserved seat, compartment, luxury, etc.) and an approximate list of services that should be provided for in it.

The details depend on the carrier - each of them implies its own nuances under the class of the car. Most Russian trains are formed by the Federal Passenger Company (OJSC FPC), and in general, the principles are the same. Therefore, below the marking of wagons is explained in accordance with the FPC standards with separate additions from other carriers.
