Leisure in Phuket and its environs.

Active recreation is more of a permanent way of life than a fleeting impulse. There is a type of people for whom a vacation without adventure is wasted time. Perhaps one of them.

Before we start discussing active recreation, let's understand its definition. For some, active recreation is trekking in Nepal, and for those who were born there, it is routine. Everything is relative.

The explanatory dictionary gives us the following definition of active recreation: “Free time associated with the study of new things and active physical activity.”. This is where we will start in the future, the key words here are physical activity and the study of the new.

1. Diving.
Diving fits perfectly under the definition of outdoor activities. This is the study of new underwater world and physical activity.

Phuket is surrounded by many islands, and some of them are considered among the best in the world for diving. Dive tours to the Phi Phi and Racha islands depart every day throughout the year.

More experienced divers will be interested in diving safaris in the area of the Similan archipelago and Surin Island. The best time for diving from November to May, at this time you can see whale sharks. The cost of a one-day program with three dives varies from 120 to 150 USD.

And in addition to diving, snorkeling is available right in the vicinity of the island.

2. Deep water Solo.
If you are not familiar with this term, then just look at the photo! Deep Water Solo is a form of rock climbing above water.

Ton Sai Beach in Krabi Province is considered a climbing paradise. Yes, this is certainly not Phuket, the beach is a four-hour drive from Phuket. But how much is 4 hours for adventure lovers?

4. Independent exploration of the island on a motorbike.

6. Bungee jumping!
Are you bored? A quick burst of adrenaline will help you put yourself in order! The bungee jumping site is a 15-minute drive from.

And since the site is located on the lake, you can make your 50-meter jump with or without dipping into the water.

7. Surfing.

Yes, this is also possible in Phuket, though not all year round. good wave can be caught from May to October. Popular beaches for surfing are Naiharn Beach, Surin Beach, Bang Tao Beach.

8. Kiting.

A good season for kiting is from April to September. And the recommended beaches are Nai Yang, Rawai and Layan, since they almost never high waves and the right wind. In Phuket, you can either rent a kite or get trained at one of the local schools.

9. Bicycle tour.
From one day to a week! Take a bike and go on a cycling expedition to the south of Thailand. Why not. This is something you can do on your own or as part of organized tour. Perhaps only a bicycle tour can give you the opportunity to fully experience the spirit of the country. Along the way, you can get to know the life of the local population. Moreover, some places can only be visited on foot or by bike.

So, little by little, I break the stereotype about Phuket as a place for beach holiday and doing nothing. As they say, there would be a desire, but there is always something to do. And the list could be longer. I tried to touch, in my opinion, only the most sports-active entertainment.

Well, if you need Additional Information then you can always ask in the comments. I answer questions.

We put a lot of emphasis on excursions. If for one reason or another they do not suit you, then let's find other entertainment on the island.

Phuket will never cease to amaze and shock. In the dense jungle, the islands hid not only rare plants and animals - brave Thais built a real adventure park for extreme people, in which they have to move on high altitude, feeling like Indiana Jones and Spider-Man rolled into one. However, the young explorers were not forgotten, but their journey was made safer. The first desperate adrenaline seekers tried the tracks in April 2011. The updated park appeared in 2013, becoming even more interesting.

Entertainment

The development of the Jungle Xtrem Adventures amusement park was carried out by the French. The same company owns the construction of seven similar complexes in the Netherlands, Hong Kong and France. Thanks to the rich experience of specialists, an unusual place has appeared on the map of Phuket, where everyone can try to overcome the obstacle course, choosing the level of difficulty of the trail depending on their strength and age.

The adventure park is in the jungle. Between huge trees, at a height of three to thirty meters, rope bridges with planks, logs, rope loops, ladders, nets, ropes are stretched, vertical shields are installed. A wooden platform is securely fixed on each trunk. The task of tourists is to make transitions from one such site to another, simultaneously enjoying unusually beautiful landscapes and getting a whirlwind of indescribable sensations. There are 73 sites in total. But the apparent simplicity of the passage is deceptive. You'll have to balance, fly, climb and climb trees - on each path there are new amazing adventures. Max speed, which can be dialed in flight, reaches sixty kilometers per hour. At such moments, you begin to believe that people are also able to fly like birds.

Jungle Xtrem Adventures has four different programs that vary in difficulty. The most extreme ones allow you to feel like a real hero from the movies. If it's too scary, try an easier level. There is even a family program and a special area for kids - "Acro Spider", consisting of 21 sections. Its peculiarity is that, having inadvertently fallen off, the child enthusiastically flies onto a stretched net. And such falls are no less attractive for young adventurers than swings, ropes and other joys that allow you to throw out all the indefatigable physical energy.
