Rest in rafailovici montenegro where to eat. Buses from Rafailovici to Budva

At the end of Becici beach there is a small resort village Rafailovici. The resort is a modern tourist centre with shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, there are conditions for a relaxing holiday and for active sports. In addition, Rafailovici is considered one of the most picturesque fishing villages in Montenegro. The edge of magnificent landscapes, active rest and magnificent ecology is the choice of tourists from many countries of the world. The village is located at the very edge of the sea, on a beautiful golden beach.

How to get there

From Budva you can get here for 1.5 EUR by a special tourist mini-train that stops at every hotel. However, you can do without transport at all: the road is so good that it will not be difficult to overcome it on foot even for those who do not have sports training. Prices on the page are for November 2018.

Cuisine and restaurants

Rafailovici attracts primarily fish gourmets, since there are plenty of restaurants of the corresponding profile there. The most popular among them is "Three Fishermen". And yet not a single fish: along the coast (as in any resort town) in Rafailovici there is a whole string of cafes and bars with a varied menu, which presents dishes from all, perhaps, European countries.

Rafailovici beach

The qualities of this beach were confirmed in 1935 and 1936 by awards from authoritative commissions, it was named the best beach Europe. Since then, the popularity of beach holidays in this region has not decreased. In general, this area is striking in that it looks like a picture. The sea, sand, greenery - everything is unrealistically beautiful colors. Whether the sun is the reason for this, or the fertile subtropical climate so painted everything, but it is difficult to find a more gratifying landscape.

Here you can not only sunbathe, but also play sports. Opportunities for rafting, diving, tennis courts, sports complexes will allow you to keep fit and recharge your batteries, so necessary for future achievements. A standard set of beach activities adds vivacity to their participants and gives smiles to the audience.

Infrastructure and hotels

The village itself is a tangle of narrow winding streets, the houses on which are buried in greenery and radiate comfort and serenity, so characteristic of the Adriatic coast of Montenegro. Many well-maintained houses surrounded by flowering gardens are rented out, some of them are sold for quite a moderate fee: real estate here is still cheap. In addition to villas, vacationers are offered hotels of different price levels, but with equally hospitable staff, as well as numerous apartments.

Entertainment and attractions Rafailovici

It is advisable to connect beach holiday in Rafailovici with excursions around Montenegro, on the territory of which, as you know, there are many historical and architectural monuments and simply the most beautiful and curious places. A traditional excursion from Rafailovichi to the miraculous functioning Ostrog Monastery. For nature lovers, a trip to the canyon of the Moraca River will be interesting. It is in this canyon on a picturesque plateau surrounded by rocks that an ancient monastery is located. After examining its buildings, you can see another canyon - the canyon of the Tara River, one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe.

Tara Canyon is not only beautiful, it is the second largest in the world after Colorado Canyon, and its depth reaches 1300 meters.

An excursion to the valley of 18 lakes is also interesting. Such a large concentration of lakes is typical only for the landscape of Montenegro and is not found anywhere else in the world. Lakes are formed by glacial waters.

Boat trip from Budva to Petrovac is very popular among those who have a rest in Rafailovici. It takes the whole day, and gives a good opportunity to compare the numerous and diverse beaches of Montenegro, including the most famous: Queen's Beach and the beach on the island of Sveti Stefan. However, an ordinary boat trip along the Bay of Kotor can leave indelible memories, because it is not for nothing that this bay is considered one of the most beautiful in the world! And if you add participation in a fish picnic to the sea trip, you can get not only visual pleasure, but also indulge in gluttony: a catch cooked on the grill (even the most modest one) in combination with local wines will make you want to return to Rafailovici again and again...

Rafailovici beach

The length of Rafailovici beach is 700 meters

Pricefor free or 10€ per sunbed + umbrella

Coatingcoarse sand without stones, there are plots small pebbles

Who is resting? Many families with children and older people

Here the promenade is busier than in Becici. Excursions are sold, German pensioners walk along the paths, children frolic by the sea. The whole village can be bypassed in 15-20 minutes up and down.

The beach is not as wide as in Becici. There is rubbish on the sand. Not so clean, but tolerable. There is a free area to relax on your own towel (many people) and areas filled with sun loungers and umbrellas (rental). 10€ ).

In June, you can find deserted stretches of the coast

In the south of the Rafailovici bay, there are mountains right next to the sea, boats and boats are in the water. If you go even further south, then there will be a rock and two small bays ( pebbles and stones). There, too, rest and swim. Fewer people, cleaner water.

In July-August, this beach is also crowded with sun loungers.

Food prices

I wrote about average prices in an article about. In Rafailovichi I saw several shops selling vegetables, fruits and meat. That is, buying food in the store and cooking at home is quite realistic.

The menu of the first restaurant on the waterfront that came across:

Pros of rest in Rafailovici

  • A couple of dozen cafes and restaurants, some of them right on the waterfront (many recommend a fish restaurant Three Ribaras).
  • You can rent an apartment (for example, these for 20 €) or a hotel room (for example, in the Meridian hotel for 50 € with a gorgeous view from the balcony) near the sea on the first line
  • There are no noisy discos, as in Budva, so it is suitable for a relaxing holiday
  • Many families with children (perhaps this will be a plus for those who come on vacation with their child)
  • Developed infrastructure, there are markets with a set of necessary products, you can buy beachwear

Cons of rest in Rafailovici

  • Lots of people in season
  • narrow beach
  • There is rubbish on the sand

Somewhere on the beach there is rubbish
Children play near a not very clean river

What to see in Rafailovici

In the village itself, you can only look at the sea and mountains. If nature is tired, then at every step they are sold.

You can take a walk to the Kamenevo beach or walk to the island of Sveti Stefan, climb to the olive above Becici or panoramic platform mountains Chelobrdo. I wrote about all these places and routes in the article.

Queen of Montenegro beach

Between Becici and Rafailovici there is a beach of the Queen of Montenegro hotel.

The hotel itself stands on a hillock away from the sea. The beach is fenced, the entrance is allowed only for hotel guests.

My reviews about Rafailovici

In spite of a large number of pluses, I would not choose Rafailovici for my vacation. Not my place. Even in May-June is not impressive. Imagine what happens there in July-August. However, people love it.

If suddenly someone is interested in my opinion, then for a vacation in Montenegro (days 7-10) I would stop in the village to swim in the sea and look at the island of the same name. But there most of the apartments are on the mountain, so not everyone will like it.

Apartments and hotels in Rafailovici

The main plus of a holiday in this village is that you can rent a villa, apartment or hotel in Rafailovici right next to the sea on the first line. You will not need to cross the road, as, for example, if you rent an apartment in Becici.

How to get to Rafailovici from Tivat airport

1. By bus

Price question - 5€ or 6 per person

On my way- minimum 1 hour, most likely more

There is no direct bus from Tivat airport to Rafailovici. You can exit the airport on the Jadransky path (the highway leading from the city of Tivat to Budva) and wait for a passing bus (they drive every 30-40 minutes).

Any bus that goes to Budva, Bar or other cities in the south of Montenegro will do.

The bus to Budva costs from 3 before 3.5€, in Budva you will need to take a bus to Rafailovici ( 1.5 or 2€ ). The fare depends on bus company-carrier.

2. Taxi Tivat-Rafailovici

Price question from 26€ per car

On my way- 30 minutes

You can pre-order via the Internet ☜ we ordered a taxi in Montenegro on this site, the plane was delayed for 30 minutes, but the driver waited.

If you are two or three people, then a taxi transfer will cost almost the same as a bus ride with transfers.

From the article you will learn how do buses work in montenegro(prices, schedule, how to save). There will be many links to other bus posts, they can be just as useful and important.

Let's talk about the most popular bus routes(from Budva to Kotor, to Tivat, to Sveti Stefan, to Podgorica, etc.).

You will also know where to look for a bus station in Budva, and how to use it.

Important! It should immediately be noted that Montenegro is an automobile country, i.e. The best way to learn it is by car. Transport rental prices are affordable, the roads are excellent, the views are awesome, so why not give yourself such pleasure.

The blog has detailed posts about choosing an area to live in:

  • in Budva - all areas of the most popular resort;
  • in Becici and Rafailovici - housing on the coast and in the mountains;
  • in Podgorica - for those who love shopping;
  • in Petrovac - apartments and hotels on the beaches;
  • in Sutomore - quiet housing, almost like a village;
  • in Ulcinj - colorful and cheap;
  • in Tivat - comfortable accommodation near the airport;
  • in Bar - very inexpensive apartments for a long period of time and for off-season holidays;
  • in Kotor - apartments and hotels in the UNESCO-listed city;
  • in Herceg Novi - apartments in the greenest Montenegrin city.

I saw a rather unpleasant situation with a foreign tourist and his luggage. A tourist goes to Tivat airport from Budva with all his things, he is asked to pay for the luggage. The tourist does not understand anything, but is ready to pay with a card (he did not have cash, he only had bank card) and goes towards the cash register, to which he receives the answer “Pay here and only in cash.” The passenger begins to "boil". I give the poor fellow a coin of 1 Euro, but the man refuses and goes to look for the truth at the box office. The bus finishes boarding and leaves without the tourist rushing to the airport.

Do you also think that such behavior of the driver in this situation is pure redneck?

Bus fare in Montenegro

Bus routes in Montenegro can be different, although they go to the same destination. It should be borne in mind that flights can be direct, or with arrivals in different cities, the duration and price of the trip will depend on this.

Questions from readers:

Tell me, how much I don’t read, I can’t understand if there is an adequate walking road Rafailovichi-Sveti Stefan, and Rafailovichi-Budva, and where can I see it on the map?

Is it possible to walk from Budva to the island of Sveti Stefan?

Yes, you can walk from Budva to the village of Sveti Stefan in Montenegro.

Accordingly, from Rafailovici you can also walk along the embankment both to Budva and to St. Stephen.

Island of St. Stephen in Montenegro

Distance from Stara Budva to Sveti Stefan is 9 km. The road for the most part goes along the sea and through parks, only in one section you will need to walk 700 meters along the highway.

Vacationers walk along this pedestrian road both on their own and with children or strollers, but not all sections of the path will be comfortable with a stroller.

Budva - Sveti Stefan on foot, map

The pedometer calculated that my walk from Budva to the lookout over Sveti Stefan and back to Budva was 21 km. One way runs about 10 km.

In the summer in the heat, I would hardly have gone for this, but that day it was only +25, I had no other plans, and I wanted to see the most famous island of Montenegro, so early in the morning I slammed the door of the apartment and hit the road.

Budva - Becici

Distance - 2-3 km

On my way - 30-40 minutes

Budva and Becici are connected by a tunnel. First we get along Budva to the tunnel, we go in.

An alternative option is to go from Budva to Becici along the sidewalk along the Jadransky path, but this is longer in time and not very comfortable, because. traffic on the highway is busy, you don’t really want to breathe exhaust gases. But you can see the whole of Budva from a height.
