Air Ural Airlines baggage. "Ural Airlines" introduce strange baggage and carry-on baggage allowances

In company Ural Airlines customer service is carried out in the following categories: business, business light, comfort, economy premium, economy and promo. The baggage allowance has its own differences depending on the category and participation in the Wings bonus program. There are appropriate baggage allowances for Ural Airlines.

The airline has created a Wings loyalty program for regular passengers. Bonus rubles are accumulated on the account of the program participant for any flight on the company's flights. Participants are issued a plastic card, which can be obtained by registering with Ural Airlines, as well as at the box office and the Wings travel club.

The program has 3 levels:

  • Blue card (issued from the first flight).
  • Silver card (from 20 flights).
  • Gold card (given after 40 flights).

Tier 2 members can enjoy the following benefits: 50% discount for excess baggage, check-in at business class desks, enhanced service quality. In addition to the benefits listed above, Gold Card holders receive free additional luggage space.

The 1PC mark appeared on tickets not so long ago and raised questions from passengers. This mark means baggage restrictions (Piece Concept system). When one free place for things is available to a passenger, the ticket is marked 1PC. The number in the mark indicates the number of available baggage pieces. If 0PC is written, it means a flight without luggage.

Thus, the rules for carrying things by Ural Airlines imply the following free standards: business fare passengers are allowed to carry 2 pieces of baggage of 32 kg each, business light - 1 piece up to 32 kg, economy and premium economy - 1 piece up to 23 kg, promo - 1 piece up to 10 kg. The dimensions of the checked baggage must be 203 cm in three dimensions, but not more than 100 cm in any of the dimensions (length, width, height).

Transportation of excess cargo can be paid in advance or on the day of departure. The price for excess baggage depends on the weight of the cargo. Payment is made according to the tariff at the time of receipt of the receipt.

Heavy and oversized baggage must be booked in advance. The company must agree to the transportation of such cargo.

Transportation of hand luggage

Hand luggage includes things carried in the cabin with a passenger. They are labeled accordingly. According to the rules of Ural Airlines, small women's bags and baby carriers are carried free of charge. In addition, the following items are carried on board:

  • books to read in flight;
  • folder with documents;
  • umbrella or cane;
  • outerwear and suit in a case;
  • baby food;
  • laptop, photo and video equipment;
  • telephone.

Carry-on baggage rules: passengers on promo, economy and premium economy fares can carry 5 kilograms on one ticket, business and business light - up to 15 kilograms. The total dimensions should not exceed 115 cm. If the dimensions or weight of hand luggage are exceeded, as in many other airlines, it is paid extra. It is advisable to carry money and valuables, fragile items and documents exclusively in the cabin.

There are also special requirements for the transport of liquid substances. For domestic flights within the Russian Federation or within the CIS and Europe, it is allowed to take 100 ml of liquid in one container, and for long-haul flights, for example, to Canada or the USA - 90 ml each. One person is allowed to carry one liter. Liquid containers purchased from duty free must be packaged so that the contents can be seen. In addition, it is advisable to keep the receipt.

Oversized baggage

Various items are allowed sports equipment subject to the established conditions. If the free quota is not violated, it is allowed to transport a bicycle with flat tires and disassembled. The total folded size of the vehicle must not exceed 203 cm.

If it is necessary to transport oversized cargo or baggage that exceeds the norm, the carrier should be notified of this at least one day before departure. The possibility of transporting such goods depends on the availability of a ticket and free space in the cargo compartment. Baggage, the length of which is more than 203 cm, and the mass exceeds 50 kg, is called cargo.

Transportation of animals

To transport an animal, you must have the appropriate documents authorizing its transportation. Such a flight is possible only together with the owner in the cabin. The shipping rates are as follows:

  • flights within Russia - 2.5 thousand rubles;
  • flights to the CIS countries - 35 euros;
  • long-distance flights - 60 euros.

The dimensions of the container should not exceed 45x35x25 cm. The weight of the pet together with the carrier is up to 8 kg. The passenger must first find out the cost of transportation and notify the carrier if he wants to transport the animal in the cabin of the airliner. It is necessary to prepare the pet for the flight in advance, especially if the container has just been purchased. Service cynological dogs and guide dogs are transported free of charge, which accompany passengers with visual and hearing impairments.

Cargo ban

Baggage that poses a potential danger to passengers is prohibited from being transported by aircraft. Therefore, in some cases, they may refuse to transport items if they are subject to an export ban.

Prohibited items include:

  • explosive and flammable substances;
  • liquefied and compressed gases;
  • organic peroxides;
  • radioactive and toxic substances;
  • electric scooters, segways on lithium batteries.

If a passenger has excess baggage, it is transported for an additional fee. The cost of transportation is charged in accordance with the available weight. Ural Airlines provides an opportunity to pay for baggage transportation at terminals or using a card. For the transportation of live plants and vegetables, documents of the established form are required to allow their transportation.

Export of valuable cultural items

To export antiques, you must pass an examination and obtain written permission. To do this, you must first make copies of all export documents and submit a petition to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

When importing cultural property into the territory of the Russian Federation, a conclusion is required on their estimated value and a conclusion on the origin of this item. historical values and rare things require special documents.

A passenger who regularly makes flights can control his movement in his personal account by registering on a special website of the company. It contains all the necessary information about flights, bonus programs and other opportunities.

The airline "" intends to change the baggage allowance and hand luggage. The new standards look rather strange and atypical. Innovations will apply to tickets sold from November 20, according to sob.korr. website.

The main changes concern the cheapest "Promo" tariffs. Now passengers with such tickets can carry only 10 kilograms of hand luggage for free (plus a briefcase or handbag, a briefcase, printed publications, a photo and video camera, a bouquet of flowers and other items from the list of personal belongings in the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR)). For tickets sold from November 20, there is a strange free allowance - 5 kilograms in hand luggage (plus the above personal items) and 10 kilograms in checked luggage. In addition, the hand luggage allowance has been reduced from 10 to 5 kilograms for all economy class fares, and not just for Promo fares.

The new norm, firstly, will upset passengers who are used to taking these 10 kilograms with them into the cabin of the aircraft (for example, in the form of a small backpack or a small wheeled bag). Secondly, it does not fully comply with the FAP, which stipulate only 10 free kilograms, but at the same time, in fact, giving the passenger a choice - whether to check them in baggage or take them into the cabin as hand luggage. It is likely that one of the motives for the innovations was a lawsuit against another airline, in which the court concluded that the passenger has the right to such a choice.

In any case, there are serious doubts that Ural Airlines will carefully check the weight of every bag that passengers carry into the cabin. In any case, when relatively recently many companies, including Ural Airlines, had a formal norm of 5 kilograms preserved from Soviet times, no one controlled the actual weight of hand luggage.

Passengers who wish to carry more than 5 kilograms into the cabin and do not check in their luggage should use online check-in or kiosks self-registration to avoid trying to weigh your hand luggage at regular airport check-in counters. Probability of hand luggage being weighed at the boarding gate this moment insignificant. In addition, the company has not published any algorithm of actions in case of attempts to carry more than 5 kilograms into the cabin, which most likely indicates that no weight control at the boarding gate is simply expected.

If all this is true, then the innovations as a whole can be considered favorable for passengers with the cheapest Promo tickets. They will be able to check in 10 kilograms in baggage and at the same time retain the ability to carry a significant amount of hand luggage (plus personal items from the above list). For passengers of more expensive Economy and Premium Economy fares, the innovations are rather negative - now they are at risk, when checking in their luggage, to face an attempt by check-in counters to limit their hand luggage to 5 kilograms instead of the previous 10. However, in most cases this is quite easy to get around with using the above list of personal items that, according to the FAR, are not subject to weighing or labeling and are not taken into account when calculating the cabin baggage allowance.

The baggage allowance for Economy and Premium Economy passengers is kept at the level of one piece of 23 kilograms. Carrying an additional piece of baggage for all fares still costs 2,000 rubles on domestic routes and 35-40 euros on international routes for each flight segment, that is, for connecting flights, the fee must be doubled. Free transportation of sports equipment is available only on Economy and Premium Economy fares.

It is not entirely clear yet whether the price ratio of the Promo and Economy tariffs themselves will change from November 20. Now, in most cases, the difference between them is much less than the cost of the subsequent addition of baggage, although it varies greatly from route to route. In other words, it is better to know even when buying a ticket whether you need to carry luggage or not.

Each passenger has the right to take baggage free of charge on the plane weighing: 20 kg if he is flying in economy class, 30 kg if flying in business class and 40 kg in first class.

Usually, this rate includes the total weight of hand luggage and baggage. However, some airlines do not include carry-on baggage within this scope. Therefore, when buying a ticket, be sure to check the baggage allowance of a particular airline. Baggage size also matters - the total sum of the three dimensions should not exceed 203 cm for business class and 158 cm for economy class.

If we translate the language of numbers into ordinary words, then this is one large bag or suitcase, one small suitcase that can be taken on a plane, and one small bag or backpack.

What is allowed to take into the salon?

In the cabin of the aircraft, it is allowed to carry free cargo up to 10 kg with overall dimensions not exceeding 115 cm.

The baggage limit system is mainly used on transatlantic flights. A passenger of any class has the right to carry no more than 2 free places baggage, each weighing up to 32 kg. The total weight of seats is not cumulative. If the weight of a piece of baggage exceeds 32 kg, then an excess weight charge will be charged, even if the second piece of baggage is less than 32 kg in weight.

In the aircraft cabin above weight norm you can take: a handbag, a plastic bag, a bouquet of flowers, an umbrella or a cane, a scarf or a blanket, a coat, a photo or video camera, a laptop, binoculars, a baby stroller, some food.

A few practical tips.

  • Let's say you have one large suitcase, one small suitcase, one bag and one backpack. It will be most convenient to rent in addition (to a large suitcase) - a small suitcase. To do this: before check-in, we hide the bag (we give it to a friend, we ask to look after fellow travelers, we hand it over to the storage room, we leave it at the beginning of the queue to the counters); we register a large suitcase; we show a small suitcase and say that we can also register it if it is free or we'll take him as hand luggage and disturb them all on the plane. In most cases, it will be registered for free.
  • In addition to the norm, you can check in 2 more pieces of luggage for free. Both pieces must be carry-on size. Let's say you have: one large suitcase, one small suitcase, one bag, one backpack and one guitar in a case. To do this: before check-in, we hide the bag and a small suitcase; we check in a large suitcase and a guitar in a case (in the manner described above); we go to the boarding gate with all the other things (the security service does not care how many pieces of hand luggage you have); then you can go to the counter at the exit and ask if it is possible to rent another seat that will interfere with everyone on the plane. In most cases, it will be registered for free.

What do you still have to pay for?

There are subjects for which the norm free transportation does not apply. These are musical instruments that should be transported in the cabin with the obligatory purchase of a separate ticket, and animals. This baggage is transported separately, regardless of the volume of other things and hand baggage. Payment for its transportation is carried out in accordance with the tariffs in force at the time of payment for this transportation service.

If the dimensions and weight of baggage exceed the allowable limits, you will have to pay extra in accordance with the airline's tariffs.

Usually, excess baggage is paid at the rate of 1-2% of the cost of economy class one way for each kg. All problems related to excess baggage should be resolved in advance. The fee charged for its transportation is set in accordance with the applicable baggage rates, which are valid on the day of payment for this service. Payment in excess of the standard baggage is recorded in the receipt issued during its implementation.

Crediting payment for the carriage of excess baggage is not provided. You can check this baggage as unaccompanied. It must be registered in advance on a separate air waybill.

Charter and low cost carriers

Rules and regulations for the carriage of baggage on charter and budget air carriers.

On the charter flights these rules and regulations are determined by the tour operators chartering the flight. You need to get acquainted with them when buying an air ticket or tour.

Some low-cost carriers do not provide free baggage transportation at all. At the same time, as a rule, paying the baggage fee at the same time as buying a ticket online is cheaper than at the airport.

As a rule, when you book your ticket, you pay a flat baggage fee, which includes 2 pieces of baggage with a total weight of up to 15 or up to 20 kg. Anything in excess of this rate is paid extra, depending on the weight.

Low cost airlines do not allow luggage to be combined. For example, a couple is traveling and they have one suitcase weighing 30 kg for two of them. Therefore, they have to pay for an overweight of 10kg.

The cost of baggage will depend on the route and time of departure. If the flight is scheduled for the so-called rush hour, then the cost increases.

Aircraft baggage rules

All people who are going to travel by plane have a question related to baggage rules. What is allowed and what is forbidden to be carried in a suitcase and hand luggage? What is the maximum allowable weight luggage? What to do if luggage is lost? Even if you are an experienced traveler and flew by plane not so long ago, you should still read the information about the baggage rules again. It is possible that some changes were made to the rules during this time.

If we talk about the rules for the carriage of baggage, then they established that each passenger has the right to carry his baggage within the established norm. These rules may vary depending on the rules of the carrier and the type of aircraft.

Baggage check-in takes place for each passenger individually. So, how much to hang in grams?

Baggage system

There are 2 baggage systems in the world: the weight system and the number of pieces system. Let's analyze each separately.

Weighted baggage system– this system is used on most flights of the CIS countries, Asia and European airlines.

Free baggage allowance on the plane according to the weight system:

  • 20 kg per passenger in economy class;
  • 30 kg per passenger in business class;
  • 10 kg per child up to 2 years.

Baggage weight can be increased by 10-20 kg if you are a member bonus program airlines.

The weight system does not limit the number of places, so you can take 2 bags of 10 kg each.

For some destinations, increased baggage allowances are set, so when purchasing a ticket, be sure to check which allowances are valid for your particular route. As a rule, this information is indicated on your itinerary receipt.

Seat system is the standard free baggage allowance per aircraft per seat, applicable on all flights to Northern and South America and vice versa, are determined based on the dimensions luggage space. By the sum of three dimensions (length + width + height). The size of the 1st piece of baggage and business class must not exceed 158 cm and must not exceed 32 kg. When carried by passengers Economy class two pieces of baggage, the total sum of the measurements of these two items must not exceed 273 cm and not more than 23 kilograms.

Not only European carriers, but also Aeroflot switched to this system.

Please note that the weight of luggage is not cumulative. If there is an excess in one suitcase, then it will be necessary to pay for it, even if the number of kilograms in the other suitcase is less than the maximum allowable rate.

Free baggage allowance on the plane according to the number of seats system:

  • Business class– 2 pieces of baggage, weight no more than 32 kg
  • in economy class– 1 piece of baggage, weight no more than 23 kg
  • Baggage allowance for children from 0 to 2 years(without providing a separate seat) the free checked baggage allowance is 1 piece weighing no more than 10 kilograms (the sum of 3 dimensions - no more than 115 cm), regardless of which class you are flying.
  • For children from 2 to 12 years old– The free baggage allowance is the same as for an adult passenger.
  • hand luggage- these are things, the weight and dimensions of which do not exceed the established norms and can be placed in the cabin of the aircraft without posing a threat to passengers.

The carry-on baggage allowance depends on the class:

1st place (up to 15 kg, the sum of three dimensions - 115 cm) - business class, "President", "Premier";

1 place (up to 10 kg, the sum of three dimensions - 115 cm) - economy class.

Those things that are provided for by the list in the Rules for the carriage of baggage, the passenger has the right to take them with him to the aircraft cabin - free of charge: an umbrella, outerwear, a handbag, a baby stroller-cane, a book to read on the plane, baby food for feeding a child on the plane , camera, phone, video camera, laptop, carry cot and some other items.

These items are not weighed, packaged or tagged.

Attention! Pay attention to the offered discounts and "bonuses" when buying air tickets. Each airline periodically conducts this type of advertising company. Be sure to ask about the availability of this information before the trip, in addition to the mandatory clarification of specific standards for free baggage transported, for the airline you have chosen.

Allowed baggage weight on Ural Airlines

You are reading archival material.

Up-to-date information for passengers can be found in the "Frequently Asked Questions" section.

Low cost airlines are known for having slightly more weight restrictions than larger, non-low cost airlines. While the restrictions on baggage dimensions are similar for different airlines. This is explained by the fact that restrictions on baggage dimensions are set based on the capabilities of airport equipment.

Sometimes restrictions on baggage dimensions can be drawn up based on the capabilities of aircraft equipment. Some low-cost airlines may operate small turboprop aircraft whose luggage compartments are quite small. However, this is more of an exception than the rule. Most popular low-cost airlines use wide-body jet aircraft which have standardized loading capabilities.

Baggage weight is critical for low cost airlines. Two factors that are taken into account when determining baggage limits are:

  1. The authorized takeoff weight of the aircraft. It’s no wonder that low-cost airlines for the most part do not use business lounges, preferring to install the maximum possible number of passenger seats with minimum allowable gaps between them. This allows you to increase the number of passengers that the aircraft is able to take on board.
Extra passengers are always extra weight. In order to meet the aircraft manufacturer's allowed takeoff weight, the airline's aircraft must carry less heavy baggage on board.
  1. Optimum fuel consumption. Aviation fuel is the main cost line for airlines. Each airline tries to use expensive fuel as little as possible. To do this, airlines acquire the latest and most economical types of aircraft equipped with modern engines and winglets (vertical tail wings), as well as deliberately reducing the takeoff weight of aircraft and setting limits on the weight of passengers' luggage. These measures save millions of euros even for a single airline.
  1. Technical capabilities of automatic baggage handling at the airport. Airlines have to take this factor into account, since the equipment (transporters) can only handle items of a certain size and weight.

The standard size limit for checked baggage is 80(height)x120(width)x120(length) cm. Separate types baggage may exceed the established limits. For example, skis and musical instruments. They can also be accepted for transportation by airlines, however, the conditions regarding them are stipulated in a special way in the rules of airlines.

The standard size limit for hand luggage is 60(height)x20(width)x40(length) cm. However, in this case, the restrictions are not strict. The dimensions of hand luggage are estimated by the airline employees by eye. Small deviations are acceptable.

The same applies to the weight of hand luggage. Here, weight restrictions vary depending on the airline and can range from 5 to 10 kg. However, in any case, small deviations are also allowed.

Quite often, some stages of loading / unloading baggage are performed with the participation of a person. This is what limits the Weight Limit one piece of baggage.

The weight of the checked-in baggage must be determined on the scales in the process of its registration. The standard weight limit for checked baggage is 20 kg per passenger (varies by no more than 5 kg depending on the airline).

It should be noted that this is the so-called included baggage allowance, which may not be available for low cost airlines. If the baggage exceeds it, it can also be accepted for transportation, but the passenger will have to pay extra for each excess kilogram at the price of the airline. This can be quite expensive (between 15 and 50 euros per kg), so you should not carry very heavy luggage unless absolutely necessary.

But there are limitations here too. Even if you are willing to pay for excess baggage, it will still not be loaded onto the plane if the weight of the item exceeds 30 (sometimes up to 35) kg. This is due to the capabilities of airport equipment and loaders.

In the event that one bag weighs more than allowed, it is recommended to arrange things in two or more bags.

It must be remembered that the approach to determining baggage allowances differs between European and American low cost airlines. While European (as well as Asian) airlines calculate limits by weight, US airlines are concerned with the number of items checked in as baggage. For example, most US carriers allow you to take one checked-in bag with you for free, and you will have to pay a fixed amount of money for the second bag, regardless of its weight.

Although there is a weight limit here, also associated with the capabilities of airport equipment and loaders.

By charging for excess baggage, airlines thus offset their costs for the fuel that must be burned in order for the baggage to be transported.
