Airline ist. Airline East Air (East Air)

The East Line Group, which manages Domodedovo Airport, has sold the airline of the same name, with which it started its business in the early 1990s. The company with a fleet of more than 20 aircraft was bought by the co-owner of another cargo airline, Tesis, Alexei Kuimov, who, thanks to the deal, became a monopolist in the transportation of goods from China.

The East Line group of companies manages the Domodedovo airport, which served 9.4 million passengers in 2003. In 2003, the revenue of the East Line group, according to its data, amounted to $ 650 million. The East Line airline, which was still part of the group, operates 13 Il-76TD "trucks" (four of them are leased from Domodedovo Airlines "), three passenger Il-86s, two Tu-154Ms and three business aviation aircraft - Tu-134 and Il-62M aircraft and a Mi-8 business helicopter. East Line's revenue, according to Alexei Kuimov, is about 4 billion rubles. The Tesis airline operates 10 Il-76TD "trucks" and two passenger Tu-154Ms. The company's revenue in 2003 amounted to about 2.5 billion rubles. The Tesis group includes a travel agency of the same name and a number of transport companies. According to the Moscow Registration Chamber, the founders of Tesis are a number of individuals, including a former minister civil aviation USSR Boris Panyukov and the chairman of the board of directors of the company Alexei Kuimov, as well as the Sudostroitelny Bank, Samara Airlines, and others. Kuimov is also known as the founder of the For Holy Russia party.

Back in March, the chairman of the board of directors of East Line, Dmitry Kamenshchik, said in an interview with Vedomosti that the group had decided to concentrate on the airport business. East Line recognized the airline and the production of electric trains as non-core businesses and decided to sell it. As it turned out, in early June, the East Line airline changed ownership.

Alexei Kuimov, chairman of the board of directors of Tesis, told Vedomosti that he and his partners bought the East Line airline from the structures of Dmitry Kamenshchik. According to him, the deal began in April, and ended on June 7, when the business of Tesis and East Line was merged under the management company Russian Sky Aviation Group, whose general director is Kuimov himself. The sale of the airline is also confirmed in East Line press office: "This deal is in its final stages. At the same time, the East Line air communications agency and the cargo agency (sales of air tickets and freight, respectively) remain part of the group.

According to one of former employees Kuimova, he, like the Mason, comes from Sverdlovsk region. According to the interlocutor of Vedomosti, since the beginning of the 1990s, Kuimov, together with a number of Sverdlovsk entrepreneurs, has been engaged in the air transportation business in Moscow. Kuimov's business is on the upswing: he himself points out that 23 Il-76s owned by the united company are approximately 40% of the operating fleet of Ilov trucks in the country. The united company intends to lease new domestic equipment, as well as to modernize the Il-76, which is prohibited from flying to Europe due to restrictions on engine noise.

Official federal agency air transport says that the airlines have not yet merged legally, each of them remains a separate operator with its own licenses. At the same time, he notes that Tesis and East Line are the only airlines that have commercial rights to regular cargo flights between Russia and China. According to the Atlant-Soyuz airline, the volume of the cargo transportation market in this direction reaches $200 million a year.

Competitors are not happy with the merger of the two companies. “Since the beginning of June, the aviation authorities have again banned charter cargo flights between Russia and China. Therefore, Tesis and East Line, which are the only ones who have the right to regular flights Together, as they say, they harvest the harvest," Stanislav Leichenko, general director of the Atlant-Soyuz airline, states. He estimates the cost of the transaction for the purchase of East Line by Tesis at about $ 30 million. The companies themselves do not comment on it.

UFG analyst Elena Sakhnova notes that the first capital of East Line was earned just on air transportation of goods from China in the mid-1990s. However, the airport business is now more profitable, and the money from the sale of the airline can be invested in the airport and get more returns, she said, so the decision to sell the airline seems to be justified.
