Tula region

If you want to go to the recreation centers of the Tula region and if you live in central Russia, then it will not be difficult for you to get here, since Tula, the administrative center of this region, is only one and a half hundred kilometers from Moscow. Going to these parts, you will not have to change lanes, change time, or get used to some unusual conditions. And yes, it is very easy to get there. From Moscow, the train arrives here in a little over two hours, in the region there is an excellent network of iron and highways. There are even navigable rivers here. Since the Tula region is located in the very heart of Russia, its borders are only administrative, separating from neighboring Russian regions: Moscow, Ryazan, Lipetsk, Oryol and Kaluga. Its largest cities, except for Tula with its half a million inhabitants, are: Novomoskovsk, Donkoy and Aleksin.

The relief of the region has basically the features of a slightly undulating plain that are familiar to the central part of Russia, on which river valleys, ravines and gullies are drawn. The peculiarity of the relief is - and this is of great interest to guests of the Tula region - that the karst forms encountered are the cause of the formation of funnels, hollows and even caves, as near the city of Venev.

The continental climate of these places is moderate with fairly cold winters ( average temperature January -10°C) and warm summers (average July temperature +20°C), so the local recreation centers do not remain without clients either in summer or in winter, since each pronounced season has its own fans.

For those who come to the camp sites of the Tula region in the summer, the presence of reservoirs is important. There are enough places for swimming in these parts, since quite a lot of rivers flow through the region. The main one is the Oka, along which navigation is even possible, as well as its tributaries Zush, Ula and Osetr. Another major water artery is the Don, whose sources are located in the east of the region, with tributaries flowing into it. We note an important point for lovers of fishing. Freezing on the Tula rivers begins in the second half of November. There are few lakes in the area. The largest of them are Volovo and Zhupel. However, the lack of lakes is more than compensated by a rather large number of reservoirs, such as Pronskoye, Cherepetskoye, Shchekinskoye and others. If, having arrived in these parts, you are going to go fishing, then at the recreation centers, which are always located near water bodies, you will be advised best places, where you will be able to get great pleasure by catching roach, perch, burbot, pike, bream and crucian carp.

Forests, to which all Tula camp sites and recreation centers always gravitate, extend over 13% of the territory of the region and consist mainly of such deciduous trees as aspen, birch and oak. In areas bordering the forest-steppe, the composition of forests is changing: linden, maple, and ash appear in them. Any hunter understands that where there is a forest, there are animals that live in it. Among such animals, one can note wolves, foxes, elks, wild boars, roe deer, hares, as well as birds - ducks and waders.

It is impossible to visit the Tula region and not visit its sights, since any vacation is always complete only when it is supplemented with new impressions and positive emotions. One of interesting excursions organized by Tula recreation centers for their guests is a trip to Tula, which is one of the oldest Russian cities, founded in 1146. During the tour of Tula, many interesting sights are shown, which can be serious, and sometimes not so much. Such curious sights are, for example, the building of the first sobering-up station in Russia, the Khvost monument and the “drunken corner”. It is interesting to see the exhibits in the museum of Tula samovars and Tula gingerbread. In the last of them you can also drink tea and taste this famous Tula sweetness. Mandatory seat visiting in the Tula region is Yasnaya Polyana, inextricably linked with the name of L.N. Tolstoy. It was here that Tolstoy was born, it was here that most of his life passed. And here he stayed forever: the grave of the writer, as he asked during his lifetime, is located on the edge of a ravine located in the forest. Just as obligatory and interesting in Tula is a visit to the famous Kulikovo Field with its Forgiveness Well, the holy water of which, according to legend, Dmitry Donskoy washed the wounds of the soldiers. Above the Forgiveness Well in memory of the Russian heroes who died here, the Spassky Chapel was erected, where there are bas-relief icons of the Mother of God, the Savior Not Made by Hands and Sergius of Radonezh. Next to the chapel there are fonts for bathing in water consecrated by the Patriarch of Moscow. Excursions to the village of Dvoryaninovo, where the estate of the first Russian agronomist Bolotov is located, are also interesting. I offer visitors not only to see the exhibits of the museum-estate, but also to drink tea, swim in the ponds, and purchase medicinal herbs. You should never refuse an excursion to the village of Dedilovo. It was here that ancient city Vyatichi, founded in 1146 and then called Dedislavl. A powerful wooden fortress surrounded by moats was also built here. The hillfort, which has remained since those glorious times, is still preserved near the present Dedilov.

Numerous are the holy places where they offer to go to their guests of the recreation center of the Tula region. A place known for a long time for numerous pilgrims is the village of Turten, located 160 km from the administrative center of the region. According to legend, this village owes its appearance to the holy spring, where pilgrims constantly come now. The existing legend says that a very long time ago a girl found an icon of the Mother of God at the source, for which a church was erected, and later people began to settle around this church. And so the village of Turten was born. There are also legends about the properties of the holy water itself. Bathing in water relieves colds for a long time, it heals ulcers in the stomach. Children in these places, constantly consuming this water, almost never get sick, and women claim that their skin is younger. Pilgrims also like to visit the male and female monasteries in Belev, erected in 1147 on the banks of the Oka. On the territory of these monasteries there are numerous temples, which store a large number of Orthodox shrines.

Thus, in this central Russian region you can have a great rest, see a lot of interesting things here and take away a lot of fresh and good impressions from here. If you decide to go to recreation centers or camp sites in the Tula region, then you will never regret your choice.

But if you are interested in a guaranteed big catch, we recommend fishing tours to the lake, where even a beginner will catch a weighty carp.

"The places around Tarusa are truly charming, they are immersed in the purest light air... Tarusa should have been declared long ago nature reserve..." (K.G. Paustovsky) The recreation center "Dawn on the Oka" is located 100 km south of Moscow on the banks of the Oka River. The nearest city in the Moscow region is Serpukhov (30 km), Kaluga region– Tarusa (15 km). Tarusa is a typical provincial picture town, "Russian Barbizon", as K. Paustovsky and the Tsvetaeva sisters called these places. On the opposite bank is the world-famous estate of the artist V.D. Polenov with the author's diorama, which can be visited by sailing across the Oka on a small boat from the pier of the city of Tarusa. Serpukhov is a city of temples where pilgrims from all over Russia come to worship the icon of the Mother of God "The Inexhaustible Chalice", the icon is famous for getting rid of addictions and addiction. In addition, in the old Russian Serpukhov there is the "small Tretyakov Gallery" - the richest Serpukhov Museum of History and Art, the funds of which number more than 40 thousand items.
