Sudak is a beautiful resort in the southeast of Crimea. Where is the best place to relax in Sudak? Which streets of pike perch should you relax on?

1152
The city of Sudak in Crimea, founded by the Sughds in 212, knew periods of prosperity and decline, it was captured by the Khazars, Greeks, Genoese, Turks and Russians. The city occupied a convenient position, ship caravans gathered here, trade flourished, and residents were engaged in agriculture. The Greeks called it Sugdeya, the Russians - Surozh, the Genoese - Soldaya, the Turks - Sudak. With the annexation of the peninsula to the Russian Empire, Sudak in Crimea became Russian. The town itself and the surrounding lands were taken into possession by Potemkin, according to his will local residents They began to plant grapes, fig, mulberry, almond and fig trees. During Soviet times, Sudak in Crimea developed as a resort and winemaking center. This is exactly how he remains today.

What to see

Most famous medieval monument in Sudak in Crimea - Genoese fortress. The year of its construction can no longer be determined. It is believed that he built it Byzantine emperor in the 6th century, and the Genoese who came in the 14th century rebuilt and strengthened it.

In the fortress there is a massive stone building, which over the centuries has become both a Turkish mosque and a Greek Orthodox church; the Genoese turned it into a Catholic church, and after the arrival of the Russians the building again became an Orthodox church. Now there is a history museum Genoese fortress and the city of Sudak in Crimea. Nowadays, the “Genoese Helmet” festival is held on the territory of the fortress. Fencers and members of historical reconstruction clubs participate in knightly tournaments, and residents of Sudak in Crimea and guests of the resort can take part in master classes of potters and blacksmiths.

Not far from the fortress is the Astagvera Tower, built in the 14th century to protect the port. The Genoese captured Sudak in the Crimea forever, so they built the tower so that the defenders could hold out in it as long as possible - large containers were knocked out of the rock to collect water, and the battlements at the top of the tower protected the archers.

Sudak in Crimea also has its own historical museum, this is the so-called Funk's Dacha. The finds collected in the halls belong to different times: objects from Tauri settlements, Gothic sanctuaries, and a Greek fort. Another exhibition tells about Sudak in Crimea during the times of the Khazars, the heyday of the Principality of Theodoro and the rule of the Ottomans.

But the cape itself is also interesting. On its slope there is a through grotto, the Aeolian Harp, and from the top it opens beautiful view to the fortress and the city.

  • Mount Perchem is strewn with the remains of destroyed ancient monasteries and temples;
  • Just west of Sudak in Crimea is the village of Novy Svet. There you can visit Chaliapin’s grotto, walk the Golitsin trail, and swim in Tsarskaya Bay.

Impressions from a holiday in June

In my opinion, Sudak is one of the most beautiful cities on the Crimean Peninsula. The infrastructure here is developing more and more every year and this cannot but rejoice. In June of this year I already managed to go to this cozy town. In general, I can only write about the weather in a positive way. During the two weeks of my stay in Sudak, it rained only once; the rest of the time there was always sun in the sky during the day. The average air temperature at this time was +25 degrees. Of course, the water near the shore has not yet had time to warm up properly. Her temperature was approximately +22 degrees. It was cold for my son to swim, but it was just right for me, I love cool water. In the evenings the temperature dropped to about +20 degrees.

What to take with you on vacation?

1) Comfortable shoes for going to the beach, rubber flip-flops are best.

2) Sunscreens or lotions.

3) A cap or panama hat.

As for the beaches, they consist mainly of gray slate gravel. If we talk about my favorite beaches of Cape Meganom, they have no measured boundaries. Officially, there are no beaches here, but there are always a lot of people here. The pristine nature of these places cannot but attract. The infrastructure here is a problem; of course, we can safely call these beaches wild. But traders appear here periodically. You can buy soft drinks or boiled corn from them, for example. The biggest advantage of these places is that the water here is very clean. I forgot to say that these beaches are located about fifteen kilometers from the city itself.

You can also visit Kapsel Beach. In general, Kapsel is an urban valley that stretches for seven kilometers. There is even a children's splash pool here. On the beaches of this area there is a rental of beach equipment. But I personally took a blanket with me. The beaches in this area have both a rescue and medical center.

Also in Sudak you can visit paid beach"Mojito." This beach offers catamaran rentals, windsurfing and diving. "Mojito" is under steep cliffs Fortress Mountain. It's very romantic. In the evenings there is a laser show on this beach.

As in all resort towns, there are quite a lot of different catering establishments in Sudak. Their prices are outrageous. The city has canteens, cafes, and restaurants. For lunch I went to various canteens. I personally couldn’t leave less than 500 rubles there. I took the standard set: first, second, some salad and compote. That's how it came out to five hundred rubles. Not cheap.

I sometimes went to a cafe called “Saffron” for breakfast. This establishment is located on Lenin Street. Here you can taste Middle Eastern cuisine. There is free Wi-Fi. In general, the menu here is quite varied. I’ll say right away that the establishment is “not cheap.” My breakfast cost five hundred to six hundred rubles. But it was not a pity, because it was delicious.

Nina

Sudak is located in the southwestern part of Crimea. I first wanted to go to this city when I saw a film, and then I found out that some of the filming took place in Sudak.

IN last time I was in this atmospheric city in August last year. The air temperature in the city at this time reached an average of +27 °C; in the evening it dropped to approximately +22 °C. If I went out for a walk early in the morning, I had to wear a light windbreaker. The water temperature in the sea at this time was approximately +24 °C. Quite comfortable for swimming. From my own experience, I will say that it is better to come for a swim after three o’clock in the afternoon, then the water is as warm as possible. During the entire time I spent here there was neither rain nor strong wind.

What to take with you on vacation?

1) A jacket or a light windbreaker. These things will definitely come in handy.

2) Sunscreens or lotions.

3) Rubber sandals for the beach.

Almost all the beaches of this city have very convenient access to the water. There is a beach in Sudak called "Mojito". You can get to it, for example, by bus number 5. This is a free beach. The beach has a separate so-called VIP zone with individual sun loungers, sun umbrellas, and wooden paths to the water. The cost of renting a sun lounger is 250 rubles (this is for the whole day). If you don’t need a sunbed for the whole day, then an hour costs fifty rubles. Also on this beach you can rent catamarans or go windsurfing, for example. There is also a small tavern on the shore that offers delicious dishes. Towards nightfall there was a laser show on this beach.

The shore itself is located near the cliff. There is a pier here. In general, the beach is excellent and I recommend it to you.

You can also sunbathe on the central beach of Sudak. It is located near the embankment. You can also get there by bus No. 5. The central beach is the largest and most visited in the city. It is approximately two hundred and fifty meters long. Its width reaches forty meters. Coastline It's quite clean here. The territory of the Central Beach is under constant sanitary control. This beach is sandy, there are no rocky fragments here. To borrow here convenient place, you need to arrive at the beach around eight in the morning. There is a water park within walking distance from the Central Beach.

There are quite a lot of different catering establishments in the city. You can have lunch, for example, at a place called "ho.re.ca. family house". This is a restaurant-type canteen. The establishment is located on Admiralskaya Street. From the outside, this place looks like a fairly expensive restaurant, but the prices here are quite budget-friendly by Sudak standards. So come in and don’t be afraid that you will leave your last money here. The menu here is quite varied. I recommend that you definitely try the solyanka here. She's simply incredible. I have never eaten anything so delicious.

I also liked a place called BarBurger. This stylish burger joint is located on Lenin Street. There are simply excellent and juicy burgers, coffee, juices, and a variety of salads. They serve quickly. The atmosphere is relaxed. The staff is very friendly.

Impressions from a holiday in September

Crimea suits my husband and me best, it has such a favorable climate. I would love to live in these parts.

In September 2017 we were in Sudak.

At this time, the best time to relax by the sea is when the heat is gone, but the water is still warm, the influx of tourists is subsiding, so there is no fuss and crowds of people.

What to take with you on vacation?

We took the essentials for the trip; it was important to take medicine and creams so as not to get burned.

Where is the best place to stay?

We settled in the private sector, there were many reasons. This is a cheaper offer, and the level is almost the same as in a hotel. The area around the rooms is equipped, there are gazebos, swings, and you can cook barbecue.

What to do at the resort?

When we were done swimming, we went for a walk around the city and took advantage of the excursion offers. On average, we spent from 700 to 1500 rubles for excursions. First of all, we visited the fortress; the guide explained the history in an accessible and interesting way.

We visited the water park, of course there are not many slides, but you can have a good time. There is a cafe and a swimming pool.

We walked along the cypress alleys, an unforgettable sight; moving along the path you can simply get to the beach. The vegetation is beautiful, you won’t see a house like this, so it’s important to travel more often to broaden your horizons and find out what’s interesting in the world.

Were at crocodile farm, we didn’t get much of an impression, we were just a little distracted.

The same cannot be said about the tasting room; we studied the equipment, tried wines and cognacs. The tastes are excellent, we liked everything.

We attended a service in the Church of St. Luke, the church is small, but people come to pray and it makes us happy, let faith be reborn. We listened to the beautiful singing of the choir.

The beaches are equipped with everything you need, everything is clean, there is a place to hide from the sun.

We went to the market and shops. Fruits cost from 30 to 180 rubles. Souvenirs and trinkets from 25 rubles and above. We bought sweets, pies, ice cream, and drinks. We spent up to 200 rubles a day on goodies. It also took a lot to get water, because it was still quite hot, so I wanted to drink constantly.

We ate in canteens, breakfast cost from 100 rubles, lunch - 250 rubles, dinner up to 300 rubles. We didn’t go to the restaurant; we consider it a waste of money. The food is delicious, especially the meat dishes. The establishments are clean, it’s pleasant to eat when everything is sterile and there are no flies flying around.

Is it worth vacationing in Sudak?

We found something to keep ourselves occupied on the beach; it was full of all kinds of offers. I especially liked the boat ride. My husband likes to ride on a catamaran, he spent almost days riding on the sea, I don’t share his hobbies, so I just sunbathed on the shore. We liked everything, there were no negative points, we will definitely come here, maybe we’ll just choose another month, we need to try it like here in the summer. We took photographs, shared our impressions with our godfathers, and the guys promised to join us next year. It will be more interesting to travel with a group.

It is important to hit the road with a good mood and a full wallet, then your vacation will definitely be a success.

Impressions from a holiday in July

The weather is just great, sunny, clean air, lots of entertainment. We rested for 14 days and never had bad weather. There is a variety of beaches to suit every taste. Having come to relax in Sudak, I realized what a “full program” vacation is: beaches, sun, entertainment - this is a vacation for those who love activity. You can spend a vacation in this city for two months, but it seems to me that you won’t cover everything.

Where is the best place to stay?

There are a lot of places to stay. Choose from budget rooms to luxury apartments. When choosing a place to live, I paid attention to several of them, which I will tell you about in detail.

The apartments are very comfortable, with all amenities. A one-room apartment, not far from the beach (15 minutes on foot) will cost 2300 - 2500 rubles per day;

I also liked the Meganom mini-hotel, where there is a swimming pool, children's playground, tennis court, and exercise equipment. Cost of 2 local number 1000 rubles per knock. Very good reviews and price. The only downside is the distance from the beach;

I noticed the guest house on the street. Juniper (prices from 1100 to 2100 rubles), 700 meters from the sea, breakfast included;

We settled in the private sector 3 km from the sea (Vishnevaya Street) in a room for two for 10,000 rubles for 14 days. There is a shared kitchen, a very beautiful courtyard where you can sit comfortably in the evening. The hostess Elvira is a young and very nice girl. Later we learned that discounts are available if you are with children or come on vacation for more than 30 days.

What to do at the resort?

The location we chose was simply superb - it's the city center. First of all, we went to get acquainted with the coast. As I already said, there are a lot of beaches and all are different. Be sure to choose the right one. Then they made a plan according to which they visited: the Sudak fortress, Cave Monastery, Galitsyn Trail, Wine Museum, Water Park and Diving Club. We also wandered along the shore in the evenings, where various events were held (concerts, competitions, etc.). There was not a minute of free time; we spent very little time on the beach. I wanted to see, touch and feel everything.

Sudak fortress - visiting it costs 200 rubles per adult and 100 per child + 50 rubles excursion (lasts about an hour), then we went to explore it ourselves and spent about 3 hours there - everything was just interesting;

On the advice of vacationers, we went to the New World to a monastery. which is located in the caves (we went there ourselves, since excursions cost from 1200 rubles per person) - it’s very exciting to plunge into the atmosphere of antiquity. We found the source of St. Anastasia and took water from there, walked along the Galician trail, heard interesting stories(and the photographs are simply wonderful). In general, I recommend everyone to visit New World- a lot of positive impressions. There we also visited the museum of wines and champagne - the cost is 1200 rubles in a group of about 30 people, but it’s worth it. We went on the Tsar's tour. People were very complimentary about tasting Brutarian wines.

The water park is gorgeous - the cost is 1500 rubles from 10 - 19. Excellent show program, attractions, swimming pools. The design of the park is amazing - everything is green and beautiful.

The diving club offered us an underwater excursion, which cost 2,500 rubles. This price also includes video shooting.

Of course, we didn’t have time to see a lot: we didn’t go to the mountains, went fishing, didn’t see the artificial river, didn’t visit the city museum and much, much more.

We visited:

Mojito beach - cost 80 rubles, on site there is a cafe, a club, sun loungers and all amenities, the beach is sand, it was a bit boring there;

The port beach is free - it’s just terrible, because there are so many people, there’s nowhere to sit, the beach is pebbly;

Brigantine is central beach, a lot of entertainment (skiing, motorcycles, there is a cafe, locker rooms, shower);

On the territory of the reserve there is a paid beach (100 rubles), called Alchak - I really liked it here, the only beach is stone. The view around is rocks;

I also liked Cape Meganom - the beauty is incredible, on this beach we went under the water.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have time for shopping, so I can’t say anything. Of course, souvenirs, shells, and wine are sold everywhere.

We ate where we lived, very good home cooking, and most importantly you can eat at any time

Pros of holidays in Sudak

Active holiday, lots to see, great weather.

Is it worth vacationing in Sudak?

Useful information?

Holiday impressions in August

The weather is good, the sea is warm, there is a lot of fruits and vegetables, prices are lower than in other summer months.

Family vacation

In Sudak it is very good water park, Dolphinarium - excellent for children. Sandy beach. Lots of cafes and restaurants. There are places for adults to go too, and young people won’t be bored.

What to take with you on vacation?

What about poisoning and intestinal infections. And as always: hats, sunscreen. Comfortable shoes; in Crimea you have to walk a lot if you don’t have a car.

Where is the best place to stay?

In mini-hotels. There are hotels using the AL system, but their price does not match the service they provide. Voluntarily, unwillingly, you begin to compare with Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, and our service loses, and you feel sorry for the money spent. The private sector is still popular among vacationers, but for me, it’s the same as in the village, a minimum of comfort. And there are many mini-hotels, there is plenty to choose from, the price is affordable, many also have breakfast included in the price, and you don’t have to overpay for food, in Sudak there is where to eat without AL, and you can buy something yourself in stores

What to do at the resort?

The Genoese fortress, dolphinarium, water park - all this is in Sudak itself, you don’t even need to go anywhere.

Well, the sand is dirty gray. The beach is full of people, full of people. Sunbeds are paid, but there are few of them. There are no bars on the beach itself. The city beach is accessible to everyone, and you understand that there is a lot of dirt, both on the beach and in the sea.

What can you buy?

What is worth buying, since we are in Russia, any city has it all. Of course, wine is what Crimea is famous for. And I still can’t resist buying products made from juniper.

About product prices

The wine, if not second hand, is not cheap, but it is a work of art, and that’s what I understand about wines. They are, of course, a bit sweet if you like dry wine, but Crimean semi-sweet and fortified wines have their own charm. The best, in my opinion, “Black Doctor”, has always been expensive and now its price ranges from 800-1100 rubles. per bottle. There are also good Massandra wines from 200-500 rubles. But for dubious production, on tap, 100-150 rubles. liter. I like to buy wines on excursions to various wineries. No, the prices here are not cheaper, but before purchasing you will taste several types of wines. Alcohol may be harmful to your health, but not a glass of good wine.

Where can I eat?

I don't know, maybe we just got caught like that. They can, without a twinge of conscience, serve burnt kebab, sprinkling it with herbs, and then make such a dissatisfied face when you ask them to replace it. I personally caught E. coli and then had to undergo treatment for a long time. There is a lot of traffic, cleanliness apparently suffers not only in the cafe hall, but also in the kitchen. It’s hot, food spoils, many complained of poisoning. I'm not even talking about shawarma, hot dogs and other nonsense that is sold in small stalls, there is not even water there, apparently there is no way they prepare and clean it all.

About the quality of food and service

I can’t recommend it, I didn’t like it anywhere. So everything is the same everywhere. Caesar salad, grilled fish, shish kebab. Where there is free space and you like the interior, come in and hope for the best.

How much does it cost to eat? About food prices.

Fruit prices are not lower, but not higher, than the Russian average. Apricots 80 rubles, peaches 100 rubles, cherries 150-170 rubles, tomatoes 70-80 rubles, cucumbers 45-50 rubles. These are market prices. Prices for food in supermarkets are the same as everywhere else. Now about the prepared food. Pizza from 200-500 rubles, kebab from 170-200 rubles per 100 gr. Pros of holidays in Sudak

Holidays alone

This resort town is suitable both for the classic type of holiday alone due to the large network of beaches, and for tourism. In Sudak large number sights, mountain passes, protected areas where you can have a good time, relax, be alone with yourself for a while, enjoy the beauty of nature, pristine grandiose landscapes that are truly breathtaking!

What to take with you on vacation?

On vacation it is worth taking a tent with you to mandatory, bed linen set, sleeping bag, essentials. You should also bring a photo camera. You will have to take a lot of photographs often. Of course, several sets of summer clothes and beach accessories. Food, all sorts of temporary devices, and so on will be available for purchase in Sudak. By location.

Where is the best place to stay?

First of all, you should pay attention to visiting the beach, which is located in a small bay near the fragments of the Genoese fortress. This is a very secluded place. Due to natural conditions and due to the fact that the beach is located in a bay and protected on all sides by mountains, there is practically no wind here. This means that this is perfect place for swimming, for sunbathing and for excellent relaxation. You can stop in any place where you are allowed to pitch a tent. This is worth doing in order to save money, so as not to pay for rented housing in the form of houses or hotels. IN lately the price per day in such places is too exorbitant even for wealthy citizens from major cities(like St. Petersburg or Moscow).

What to do at the resort?

There are many ways to keep yourself from getting bored in the city of Sudak. Starting from the beaches I mentioned and ending with walks around the area. In addition, as an alternative option for a pleasant pastime, you can go on a sightseeing tour. You can go on such a tour both locally and to all corners of Crimea. You are offered a large number of options to choose from. Among them are Sevastopol, and Simferopol, and Bakhchisarai, and Yalta, and Feodosia, and mountain passes with caves. From here you can get to almost any corner of Crimea. Fortunately, the transport network on the Crimean Peninsula is very, very developed. And Sudak is well suited for travel due to its geographical location.

I would definitely recommend visiting sightseeing tour across Crimea. Especially if you are in Crimea for the first time. You can also go on a hiking tour Marble Caves, to the Jur-Jur and Jur-La waterfalls, visit the Valley of Ghosts. Separately, it is worth visiting such cities as Bakhchisarai and Sevastopol as part of such a program. This trip is guaranteed to give you a boost of energy and endless inspiration!
