I really wanted to visit the new ships of the Princesses - Royal and Regal, but it just didn’t work out. And when I saw an interesting offer on the new ship of the Majestic company, I decided that it was definitely necessary to sail on the third ship of this class. Especially in Europe, he had only a few cruises. Majestic Princess is built for the Chinese market, and was leaving there for an indefinite period.

My husband is rather cold about European options, where we have already been and several times more. It was difficult to persuade him. I needed a companion. My husband grumbled at first, because we always only go somewhere together, but still gave the go-ahead.

We booked a cabin with a balcony of the lowest category. Got an upgrade to the deluxe category, but also with a limited view. To be honest, the cabin is not very spacious.

From the negative, in my opinion, in the bathroom: the faucet, like on the Royal, is too short, and therefore when you wash your hands, the water spills around the sink. The toilet paper holder is inconveniently located - far from the toilet bowl, you have to reach for it. And of course, the fact that there is still one curtain instead of a shower stall in the old fashioned way.

It is unusual that everything on the ship is duplicated in Chinese, even on the ship's maps there are Chinese characters. I didn't really like how the World Fresh Marketplace buffet restaurant was made. Not one open space, as on old ships, but some nooks and crannies and separate rooms. But maybe you just need to get used to such a design decision.

I liked that in the corridors along the sides of the ship there are now different colors of carpet. And it’s already difficult to get confused which way to turn from the hall where the elevators are. Blue - even numbers of cabins, red - odd numbers of cabins.

Nutrition Impressions

The food is a little different from other Princess ships. I do not know what is connected with, perhaps due to the Chinese orientation. Other Princess ships don't have smoothies in the morning. There is always one view, every day is different. No hot dishes: fish, chicken, pork, beef. There are only soups.

And there is a little more variety of dishes for lunch. Dinner at the buffet is weaker, apparently due to the fact that most people dine at the main restaurant.

Breakfast. As usual, a large selection of hot dishes. Even Chinese cuisine was added, that is, in the morning there is meat, chicken, fish, rice, noodles. There are cereals and soups. Salmon, alas, is very salty and smoked. I personally don't like this. In general, for those who are accustomed to eat tightly in the morning, there will be a holiday.

For lunch, the buffet had a huge variety of hot dishes. I always praise TUI Cruises for food, but Princesses is clearly in the lead in this regard. And for seafood dishes, no one can compare with Princesses. There are always shrimp, squid, mussels, scallops. As usual, once per cruise they give a lobster.

Of the cuts, only one type of meat and three types of cheese. Small selection of fruit, all the usual standard. For dinner, the choice of hot dishes is already more modest - 2 times less. Sliced ​​1 type of meat and 1 type of sausage, but already a large selection of cheeses.

For desserts, I give Princesses the first place. Well, maybe with Oceania they share this place in half. Very tasty confectionery from both companies.

As for taste, there is more emphasis on Chinese cuisine. But not everything is as critical as it seems at first glance. It's just that Princesses didn't have that many spicy dishes before.

The food in the main restaurant is amazing. And poultry, and meat, and fish - everything is very tasty. And from dessert you can swallow your tongue! There is a menu in Russian. The translation is very appetizing. The one who made it is apparently a lyrical person. And this is much better than if they did it with a Google translator. In general, nothing would be clear. But, alas, there was no tudeyka (daily newspaper in the cabin) in Russian.

Liked Alfredo's free pizzeria. Very tasty pizza there. Thin dough, if you like this, then you will be satisfied. The choice of types of pizza is great.

We went to a paid French restaurant-bistro La Mer. You can choose 1 starter, 1 hot and 1 dessert. I bought into the word lobster. As a result, I got something like an omelet with the taste of fish and possibly lobster. Expected more from the food at this establishment. In fact, everything is very mediocre, nothing outstanding. And the cost of $ 35 per person does not justify. The opinion of 4 people. Also, all drinks are paid, which is very surprised.

Chinese restaurant Harmony. The cost is $29 per person. You can choose 1 position: appetizer, soup, main course and side dish, dessert.
We liked the food in this restaurant. There was no impression of Oh and Oh, for a snack it is better to choose duck salad. For me personally, the pork ribs were very fatty.

If you want to eat even more seafood, then you can go to a paid Crab Shack restaurant. The cost is also $29 per person. You can also choose 1 dish from each position.

We went to celebrate the eve of my birthday at the Crown Grill restaurant. I had to take a special notice to the restaurant that it was my birthday and give it to the waiters. There I was congratulated with a cake from the company and a postcard with the personal signature of the captain, the waiters sang a song.

We were 6 adults and 1 child. All six adults are simply delighted with visiting this restaurant. Everything was incredibly delicious. Everyone recommends visiting this restaurant. The cost is also $29. From the menu (in Russian, as in other restaurants), you can choose 1 dish from each position: appetizer, soup, main course, dessert. Hot dishes are served separately with 4 types of side dishes: mushrooms, spinach, french fries and boiled mashed potatoes. In addition to desserts, you can additionally order a cheese plate. They are cut in front of you.

Entertainment

In my opinion, she was weak. The show with songs and dances was only 1 time and on the last day of the cruise. The show was magnificent, pulling at the Broadway level, chic costumes, magnificent voices from the singers, two numbers of aerialists. There was no single storyline, just each song was accompanied by a dance or circus number.

It took place 2 times - at 8 and 10 pm. And both times it was crowded with people, many had to stand at the top. And the employees also tried to drive these people out of the hall. In general, for the first time I see such a disgusting organization. I understand that everyone missed the spectacular show and probably came a second time and at 10 pm. Then it was necessary to do such a show 4 times so that everyone could enjoy it.

There was a solo concert of one singer - a magnificent voice, it is clear that he is a great professional.

Often played in the atrium classical music- 4 girls from Ukraine. In the evenings the singer sang and played the piano. A group also performed there: musicians and a girl sang. Some of Nancy's clients complained that they were bored. There is no music in the disco.

There was a Balloon Drop Party in the atrium - dropping balls on dancing people. And they start to pop them. Numerous pops are heard around, like explosions.

Every evening there was a fountain show near the pools. Goes on for about 20 minutes. Different lighting and music, even with Chinese motifs. I can't say anything about the height of the upward jet. Maybe it's 10 meters.

Thanks to Nancy, we were able to go on an excursion to the spa. The thermal zone on Princesses is small. When compared, for example, with Koningsdam. There is a swimming pool with hydromassage. There are sun loungers with tubes from which water flows. Three saunas: aromatized, hammam and dry. On the new ships of the Princesses, visiting the saunas is paid, and on the old ships it is free. A weekly subscription costs $149. A visit is not sold for one day.

The Internet on Princesses is fast enough. And the pictures load fine. We really used a SIM card to a greater extent, on which the provider gives 5 GB in the European Union.

Summary

I really liked the ship. I love this style of interiors. The atrium is amazing! I thought the pools were too small. But I'm not a fan of pools, but for others it may be a minus. But there is an indoor pool which is good.
The theater is small for such a large number of passengers. But surprisingly, there was no pandemonium, except for party evenings. People scattered everywhere.

In general, I am one of those people for whom the ship is not important. For me there are others more important parameters for a comfortable stay.

The cruise was a success, despite some negative details. The main thing is that we met wonderful people and spent many hours in great company.

On the first cruise on the newest liner Princess

Since 2009, I have been representing in Israel the Russian-speaking departments of several large cruise companies, through which those who wish can order land-based excursions in Russian - MSC, Norwegian, Princess, Holland American. I do a lot of orders for my clients.

Sometimes I visit ships calling at Israeli ports, although in recent times there were very few such ships. But I have never had to walk at least a few days on a large cruise liner myself - those many times repainted uncomfortable post-Balzac age labels that came out of us do not count.

And then, finally, the opportunity turned up - the company "Princess" offered significant discounts to its agents on a week-long cruise from Athens to Greek islands aboard his newest on this moment the liner "Majestic Princess", launched just a month and undergoing a run-in before departure to China, for which it was intended from the very beginning.

We booked a regular cabin with a balcony, which is the majority on the ship. Ours was on deck 11 closer to the stern. Advantage: closer elevator to the gym (visited every morning) and to the self-service restaurant. Disadvantage: further the elevator to the central hall, from where you go down to the exit from the ship. Not to say that it is very spacious (22 meters, including a balcony and amenities), but not cramped either. We spent quite a bit of time on the balcony, and certainly during inner cabin would feel bad.

There is no deck 13 on the ship. Cabins are located from 8 to 15 (that is, on seven decks). From 5 to 7 - public premises (theatre, restaurants, shops, bars, casinos, library, halls for special events). At 16 and 17 - swimming pools, jacuzzi, snack bars, a large self-service restaurant, gym, table tennis, basketball, spa. At 18 cricket ground and observation bridge. Exit from the ship from deck 4.

During the day, most of the time was spent at 16-17, where films were constantly shown on the largest screen on the liners, and one could watch something interesting.

By evening, people gathered in the three-story central hall (also the largest on the liners), where jazz was usually played, shops were open, it was possible to see people and show off.

What was wonderful - with an almost full load (3500 people), there was no crowd anywhere, there were enough sunbeds near the pool, and places in the self-service restaurant, and shells in the gym.

Boats were usually brought ashore - such a behemoth cannot land in most ports - but everything was well organized, and never waited more than a few minutes.

The service was just fantastic. As soon as you leave the cabin for half an hour, when you return, you find it cleaned. We chose free time meals (those who choose a certain shift are assigned to the same table and to the same companions, which is certainly good when you go traveling with friends, we didn’t know anyone at first), and only by the fourth day of the trip did we find companions to our liking, and then already in the morning we ordered the time when we would come for dinner, and the table at which we would like to sit. In the self-service restaurant in the morning, the menu was more or less the same (like a good 5 * hotel), and in the afternoon it changed.

During the day, you could also eat for free at a Chinese restaurant (excellent wonton soup), an Italian pizzeria, and a burger ranch. Ice cream is also free. But you had to pay extra for lobsters. In the evening, the waiters served, the menu was small (3-4 dishes of each type to choose from) and changed, so you could always choose something to your taste, and the lovely waitress Marina (born in Odessa) gave useful advice.

The level of food and service is like in a good European restaurant. The choice of wines was excellent - the best Californian and New Zealand ones, which I was not at all familiar with. What was wonderful on the ship was the restaurant La Mer by the famous chef Emmanuel Renault. Three Michelin stars. And all this for a ridiculous additional fee of $35 per nose. What can I say ... There is nothing to compare with. You do not understand what it is made of (although the composition of the products is indicated on the menu), nor how it is prepared. Just enjoy.

Entertainment programs were in the theater for 2000 seats, and in various salons. Some better, some worse. Evening of the Beatles, evening of Frank Sinatra, jazz quartet (good), jazz trio (not so good), a wonderful string quartet of Ukrainian girls, stand-up comedy with British realities that are inaccessible to most guests.

There were dance lessons, macrame and God knows what else, lectures on a religious theme, karaoke, someone disappeared into the casino.

The composition of the guests was as follows: approximately 1,300 Americans (a good half of them are residents of California of Chinese origin), 400 British people, a little less Australians, 270 Russians, a couple of hundred Israelis and others - citizens of 67 countries.

Most of the passengers took one or another excursion, and they were in Russian. We have already been to most places, but in others we easily navigated, fortunately, the Greeks in tourist places understand English.

I am delighted with the cruise and the liner!
