This is a rather high waterfall consisting of four cascades, connecting which, we get twenty-three meters in height. However, there is little water, a full-flowing waterfall can only be seen during the thaw period. The rocks from which the streams of water fall are dotted with many grottoes, cavities and caves - they are made of sandstone and if you dig into them, you can now find various fossils that are a good ten million years old. Although excavations are best left to archaeologists.

How to get there?

As a rule, an excursion to the waterfall is combined with a visit to other attractions - the Ryzhik spring, the Kotkh ridge, the Pillar of the World,.

From Krasnodar to Goryachiy Klyuch is only 60 km, so you can see all the sights without any problems in one day.

You can start your journey from the beginning of Shchorsa Street or the Irkutsk Division. You can park your car here, or in the resort part of Goryachiy Klyuch. You don’t even have to drive into the city - leave your car in a large parking lot on the highway near the Old Castle cafe. Here you will cross the Psekups River on a pedestrian bridge and find yourself in the same tourist area. Our weekend itinerary will just end at this point, so it will be easier to get to the car on the way back.

There are many trails and paths in the forest, so it is better to use a navigator or install maps.me or any other phone navigator on your smartphone. The first part of the way you need to constantly move along the Maltsev creek. The first spring that flows into the Maltsev stream will lead us to the Ryzhik spring. There is nothing beautiful here, so if you do not need drinking water, then it is not necessary to come here.

The second stream will just lead to the mirror rock.

If you return to Meltsev erik and continue moving upstream, you will soon see a waterfall.

Bypassing the waterfall on the left and climbing the mountain, you will find yourself on the jeep road. This road leads to the Dantovo Gorge, first passing along the Kotkh ridge past Klyuchevaya Mountain and an observation deck on which the Peace Pillar is installed.

You don't have to travel far to see something interesting. In mid-November, we went to the village of Fanagoriyskoye, in the Goryacheklyuchevsky district. From Krasnodar it is less than 100 km. We went in search of Kesuh waterfall. Along the way, we found a spring, a trough-shaped dolmen, mushrooms and even a lake.

How to get there?

From the village of Fanagoriyskoye to the waterfall - 11 km, you can walk or
we go by car to the tract Podnavisla, and from there go to the waterfall - 3.5 km.

There will be a couple of fords to Podnavisla, any cars pass them, there is not enough water. But after Podnavisla, only a good SUV will pass, there are a lot of pits, puddles and mud.

The road is wide and well-trodden. There were no people on the route, we met only one group of mushroom pickers.

About the waterfall

How to translate "Kesukh" is quite difficult to find, according to one version - this is "snow son".

Kesuh is a tributary of the Chepsi River. From the Adyghe "Chepsi" is translated as "cold water". The place became popular in the early 80s.
The waterfall is located on a nameless peak, 674 m high. The entrance to the stream is located just opposite the famous Mount Navisla (704 m).

The waterfall was formed in a small gorge, where there is a lot of green moss, tall pines and huge stones. The height of the waterfall is 20 meters, there are more waterfalls behind it, but there is no path as such, you have to go around the rocks, the ascent is steep and slippery, we have not climbed there yet.

The best time to visit is the winter months or March, even in November there was little water. The route is suitable for a day trip.

2. 11 people gathered for the hike, half of them are cheerful pensioners)) In the morning it was cold around +5, but in the afternoon it warmed up to +15.

3. The road started out muddy. In this weather, we already put on boots.

4. We climbed a small hill, reminiscent of the "Wolf Gate", there was a trough-shaped dolmen.

5. We descend from the dolmen, there is a lot of green moss here.

6. The Chepsi River, beautiful places with "baths" for swimming and picnics were found on its banks.

7.

8. Found mushrooms - mushrooms.

9. We ford the river.

10.

11. We turn onto the Kesuh stream. There are many green pines here.

  • 1864 - Date of foundation of Goryachiy Klyuch
  • 17 - Such a number of mineral springs are used in Goryachiy Klyuch
  • 65 km separates Goryachiy Klyuch from Krasnodar.

Well, everything is clear with the Hot Key itself, but what if you want more? This is the perfect place for research. The surroundings of Goryachiy Klyuch conceal many interesting sights: Kaverzinskiye waterfalls, Mirror rock, Bogatyrskiye caves, etc. Let's consider the three listed places. Probably too much for one day!

Rock Mirror

This smooth and even rock of enormous size impresses with its scale. Inspection of the rock Mirror is convenient to combine with a walk along the Goryachiy Klyuch, as the route starts right in the city.

To get to Mirror Rock, you will need one of two things: either a guide or a navigator with a track. If there is neither one nor the other, you can use the mobile navigator for your smartphone maps.me. This is a great program where all the sights are marked, and it works even without the Internet and the network.

Going to the Mirror rock, it will be most convenient to make a small circle and at the same time see a few more sights. This is a ferruginous spring (there is nothing beautiful here, it is worth going to it only for the sake of useful water), the Dragon's Mouth waterfall and observation platforms from the Koth ridge. The end point in this case will not coincide with the starting point, and you will exit just in the Dante Gorge.

Dragon's mouth waterfall

Another name is the waterfall on the Maltsev Creek. It almost always dries up in summer.

Viewpoints on the Koth Ridge

The next attraction is already outside the Goryachiy Klyuch. These are Bogatyrsky caves. To get to them, you need to leave the city and drive towards Dzhubga. Where there is a pointer to Fanagoriyskoye on the highway, you need to turn off and drive about a kilometer to the start of the route.

Bogatyrsky caves

  • 650 m - The length of the trail from the road to the caves.

The route to the caves is short. Everything about everything will take you no more than an hour. By the way, on the way to the caves there is a good place for a picnic - with a table and benches.

Kaverzinsky waterfalls

  • 6 km - The length of the route (one way).
  • 3 - So many waterfalls will meet on the way. And that's not counting the small waterfalls and beautiful rapids.
  • 10-12 m - The height of the Big Kaverzinsky waterfall.

If you drive from Goryachiy Klyuch towards Dzhubga, then the village of Khrebtovoye will be on your left. This is where the route to the Kaverzinsky waterfalls begins. You need to turn left where there is a small monument near the road, and then drive inland along the gravel road, cross the river (it is shallow, and the ford is reliable) and leave the car at Uncle Vova's farm. Parking here is paid, it costs 200 rubles. If the patency of your car allows, then you can go on it goaaaazdo further!

Path to the waterfalls

It passes first along a forest road broken by off-road vehicles, and then along the bed of the Tambovskaya Shchel river. If you want to feel confident, put on rubber boots, they will take care of the dryness of your feet.

First waterfall

It is located on a tributary that flows into the Tambov Gap River.

Second waterfall

It is literally 100-200 meters from the first waterfall.

In our article we want to talk about the waterfalls of the Krasnodar Territory. Kaverzinsky waterfalls are not so easy to find. Very often, tourists who go to them for the first time do not immediately get to the right place.

Why Kaverzinsky?

Kaverze is the left tributary of the Psekuls River. On all topographic maps, it is listed as Kavyarze. There are several opinions regarding the origin of the name of the waterfalls. Some believe that it comes from the Russian word "tricky". However, this opinion is not entirely correct, since the river has several more names: Khuarze and Kobza.

So, for example, Kobza in translation means "boar river". And Huarze, most likely, is a distorted version of Kavarze, which has two meanings in translation - a swan and a wave. The seething river waters have a characteristic white color, which is comparable to the color of a beautiful bird. The river has gained wide popularity due to its waterfalls, located on the right tributary, which flows in the Tambov gap.

Where are the waterfalls located?

Kaverzinskiye waterfalls and cave are one of the most famous Krasnodar sights. They are located 5.5 kilometers from the highway Krasnodar - Dzhugba (the village of Khrebtovoye), on the no less famous stream Tambovskaya Shchel. This area belongs to the resort town of Goryachiy Klyuch.

Tour objects

Interesting objects for excursions are not only the Kaverzinsky waterfalls, but also the village of Khrebtovoye itself, founded in 1874, as well as the mass grave of Soviet soldiers, a memorial complex, and the unique vegetation of the Tambov gap. During a hiking trip, you can admire the yew berry, many varieties of mosses and ferns. It is worth knowing that there is not only the Big Kaverzinsky waterfall, whose height is ten meters, but also four more waterfalls, as well as the Universitetskaya cave.

How to get there by car?

Many guests of the resort tend to see the Kaverzinsky waterfalls. "How to get there by car?" - this is the main question that arises among tourists. The locals will certainly warn you that the road is not quite easy, and you will not be able to drive to the waterfall itself. Therefore, you should first prepare for a walk in the forest by wearing suitable shoes.

By car, you need to move along the highway to Dzhubga, and after the Goryachiy Klyuch drive through the Pyatigorsk gas station and go to the bus stop, near which there is a monument to soldiers. Here you will see a woman walking into the forest. It is on it that you need to move on. After two hundred meters you will reach a stream. In principle, a water barrier can be passed by car if you have an SUV, since the water level on the road reaches the ankle. Or you can leave your car and continue on foot.

Kaverzinsky waterfalls: how to get there on foot?

It is necessary to cross the stream and continue along the road. After about a kilometer and a half, the path is crossed again by a rivulet, which can be bypassed or bypassed along a log. Not far from this place the road forks. We need to move to the left side and go to the place where the stream will cross our path again. Here the main road will go up, and we need to go to the right along the path into the gorge. According to experienced tourists, it is this section of the road that can still be overcome on a UAZ or other off-road vehicle. But is it worth depriving yourself of such an adventure as a walk through a beautiful forest?

The rest of the way runs along the path that runs along the stream. Periodically, water streams have to be crossed by jumping over stones. An interesting fact is that the forest stream looks incredibly transparent and clean.

waterfalls

You will see the first small waterfall at the beginning of the gorge. It is a small water stream flowing down the left wall of the gorge. Perhaps it even dries up in the summer heat. After another twenty minutes of the way, you can reach small waterfalls. A little further on, the largest waterfall finally appears, the height of which, according to various sources, is 10-12 meters. Some tourists at the end of an exciting journey even bathe in a stream. However, the water in it is incredibly cold even in the warm season.

Kaverzinsky waterfalls are worthy of attention. Perhaps they are not so big, but getting to them and admiring the pristine beauty is a real adventure and pleasure.

university cave

Kaverzinsky waterfalls (the route of movement is given by us in the article) is not the only attraction of the area. If you climb from the foot of the main waterfall up a specially constructed staircase, you can not only admire the water flows from above, but also get to the University Cave. It was discovered not so long ago, in 1973, by students of the Kuban University. It is for this reason that she received such a name. A stream originates in the cave, the waters of which come out of it. The cave looks more like a gap, and a stream of water constantly flows along its bottom, which, leaving it, forms a small waterfall.

Having visited the resort town of Goryachiy Klyuch, you should definitely go on an excursion to the waterfalls. One of the most beautiful and at the same time the most mysterious places is Hell Falls. This awesome name he received from the inhabitants due to his landscapes. Rapid water falls from sharp stones into a bowl several meters deep. The view is impressive, if a little ominous. Tourists who come to the foot of Hell Falls bring home a lot of emotions and many photographs that capture the beauty of the landscape.

As a rule, tourist routes are designed so that everyone can enjoy the beauty of this place to the fullest. Parking at Hell's Falls takes several hours.

Hell Falls, being a tributary of the stream of the same name, enters the basin of the Chepsi River. Its height is only 12 meters.

How to get there?

You can get to the place on your own. Hell Falls is located in the village of Fanagoriyskoye in the vicinity of Goryachiy Klyuch. Bus number 193 runs there daily from the center of the resort town. However, before embarking on a solo trip, it is worth assessing your strengths: a walk to the Hell's Falls can be very tiring for unprepared tourists. In some places it will be difficult to get through without special equipment.

That is why it is best to use the services of a guide who will help you not get lost and tell you about all the sights along the way.
