But those who left negative reviews about this hotel are absolutely right! We purchased a ticket through the tour operator Express-Tours to this "amazing" place called Magic Caribbean Monastir 4 *. Yes, yes, I was not mistaken in the name, if you look at the voucher. But upon arrival in Tunisia and disembarkation at the hotel, we found ourselves at the threshold of the Caribbean World Monastir hotel. And this is where our adventures began... First things first: 1. Check-in at the hotel. We arrived at the hotel early around 6 am (as there was a night flight). We did not know that this hotel consists of two parts (two separate independent receptions). At the reception desk, we gave all the necessary documents to the hotel employee and he, in turn, for an additional fee of $ 20, offered to expedite our check-in. Naturally, upon arrival in Tunisia, we wanted to settle into the room as soon as possible and start spending our vacation with all the amenities, we agreed. We were given the key to the sinister bungalow 600. We were also charged a tourist tax (an innovation in Tunisia) in the amount of 40 dinars for two, but even here they decided to deceive us and shortchange us. They gave a banknote with a face value of 100, and the hotel employee decided to hand over the change in local currency in dinars at "his" rate. We immediately protested and demanded to return the banknote and paid the tax in dinars (fortunately we had them on hand). 2. Bungalow number. The room itself is a quiet horror, if I may say so. Dampness in the room, dirty bed linen (it is not known whether it was changed at all or not), a non-working refrigerator and a view from the balcony of the 1st floor of the bungalow to the garbage heap with horse manure under the windows. Naturally, we went to demand a replacement number. And then the show began. The employee, under the pretext that there are no free rooms now, suggested that we approach him with this question at lunchtime. Okay, come for lunch. All the same answer no numbers, come later and right before our eyes populates with crowds of local Arabs (this season there are a whole cloud of them before school !!!). Not having tolerated such an attitude towards myself, remembering the entire English vocabulary, I expressed everything that I think at the level of a scream and demanded a refund. The room was immediately found and we were moved to another bungalow. The room was a little better than the previous one. We found out that the hotel consists of two parts in the evening when we went for a walk around the territory and stumbled upon the second reception. It was radically different from the first and, most importantly, was located near the sea. Other buildings (!!!) were not bungalows, but the buildings were also located near the sea. Naturally, we decided to achieve relocation to any building, rather than vegetate in a bungalow on the outskirts of the hotel. We moved 4 times in total. It is civilized and pleasant to be in the room of the building. The rooms were cleaned badly, there was no soap in the room for several days (in public toilets too). 3. Restaurant-dining room. There is really a lot of food: there is poultry, beef, lamb, fish ... various side dishes, sweets, pastries and various fruits. But there were really not enough dining places ... the tables after other vacationers were not cleaned for a long time. Dishes: plates, cups, spoons (!!!) were sorely lacking. It almost came to a fight over the dishes. Local vacationers (Arabs) behaved extremely outrageous in the queues for food. Drinks, other than bottled water in the hotel bars, did not inspire confidence. 4. Beach. Beach sandy entrance good, but dirt, be it seaweed or drink wrappers, all over the place and in the sea itself. Beach entertainment - a camel, defecated (pooped) everywhere and on the sand where the children play and in the sea. Naturally, no one cleaned up after the camel. This happened several times during the day, and so from day to day. There were not enough plastic beds and mattresses. I had to take seats in advance at 6 in the morning, and then the “well-wishers” were always there to take the sunbed away. 5. Animation. There are animators, there are many of them, but they are silent. They walk back and forth around the hotel and that's it. The head of the animation showed liveliness towards vacationers with children only in order to sell (sell) T-shirts with the name of the child and the logo on the back ... a kind of business of animators - printing on T-shirts. More and more animators are not heard. Somewhere by the pool with slides they announce a list of entertainment and, if you're lucky to hear and make out the speech, that somewhere they are playing volleyball or water polo. Balls for games animators take away, give out strictly from whistle to whistle. Evening animation takes place after dinner. First, a children's disco - 30-40 minutes, then for adults. There is also a disco club open from 23.00-02.00 at night. 6. Water slides and sea water pool. The pool is large with different depth levels. The water is sea water, but every morning the pool cleaner poured a bucket of white powder into it. Many vacationers have had skin irritations. Basically, locals (Arabs) with children swam in this pool and did not climb out of the pool for hours (!!!). Near the pool in the area where you can have a bite to eat before lunch, there was one single toilet, which was very rarely visited by local (Arab) vacationers. Disgust to swim in the pool discourages any desire to go into the water. On the water slides rode a couple of times. The fifth point felt very strongly all the joints of the slides, so there was no desire to ride again. Outcome. We were in Tunisia for the third time and really have something to compare. In this hotel, the attitude towards Russians, Europeans is bad ... they revere their local Arabs. If you have finances and common sense, it is better to look for a more positive hotel than Caribbean World Monastir. Everyone have a nice holiday and nerves of steel.

We went to the taxi rank, showed the voucher with the address of the hotel to the driver, to which they immediately heard that such addresses do not exist. The voucher was written HOTEL, below ADDRESS, below PHONE, below FAX. Of course, we decided that this phone and fax is the phone and fax of the hotel. Phoned - phone turned off. They called the fax machine - the fax works on the machine. Later, our hotel suggested that perhaps it was the phone and fax of the receiving party.
The driver spoke to other taxi drivers and said he knew our Sun Hotel Beach Resort(this name was written in the voucher) and he took us. After 40 minutes and 30 km of the way, he brought us to another hotel with a similar name. Everything around was so deserted and wild that there was no one to even ask about the right road. I had to go back to the airport, because the drivers near the hotel where he took us said that judging by the fax code of the hotel, this hotel is located in Hammamet, and for this you need to take not city ​​taxi, but intercity. Upon arrival at the hotel, there was a long argument with the taxi driver who took us to the wrong hotel. He demanded 40 euros, connected the police. As a result, they gave him 20 euros and he fell behind.
We got into an intercity taxi, the driver said that the Sun Beach Resort does not exist. Look for another name. Luckily, I took the bill with me, which had the more correct name of the hotel: Caribbean World Sun Beach Resort. Then the driver said that I know Caribbean World - this is a group of hotels in Hammamet and one of them will be called Sun Beach Resort. We tried again to call the hotel phone (as we then thought), which, it turns out, was mobile phone and was turned off. I think that during our trip we called there 30 times, and it was always turned off. By the way, the taxis had torn seat belts, no air conditioning, and we were still in warm clothes from Germany, and it was already +30 degrees in the shade. We went to Hammamet (there is 80 km from the airport). We arrived at the Caribbean World Beach Resort - they say there is no reserve for us and their hotel is not Sun, then to another hotel, then to another. And still nothing. As a result, one of the Caribbean World hotels decided to help us - they began to call all the Caribbean World hotels in Tunisia. It turns out there were about 20 of them, and in each Caribbean World there was a hotel with names like Sun Beach Resort. In the end, only thanks to the patience of the woman at the reception, the right hotel was found - they confirmed that we were registered with them. The taxi driver said that we would not be lucky anywhere else until he received a guarantee of payment, since he had already traveled 180 km with us and spent more than one hour, guarantees were given, since intercity taxis were not so easy to find. After another 60 km and an hour of driving on terrible roads with views of the industrial zone and landfills, the right hotel was found. The driver was paid 150 euros (he also gave us a discount, the price of a taxi is about 1 euro per km, and here so much time was lost searching).
We arrived at the hotel at 18-40, i.e. The road from the airport to the hotel took more than 5 hours. The hotel did not want to accept us, because we have vouchers without the necessary information (I don’t know which one, I think because almost everything was written there incorrectly: hotel name, address, phone, fax, etc.), I I also gave them a bill and only then did they give us the keys and accept us. There was an industrial zone around the hotel, and it was scary to leave its territory. Everything was good in the hotel, a huge territory, of course it doesn’t pull for 4 stars - 10 years ago it might have been 4 stars, but there was a super animation team, a lot of sports, Tunisians are very friendly and speak Russian. We had a great time until the wind changed its direction….
We arrived at the hotel on September 17th, on September 22nd during the evening show there was a terrible stench. It feels like you put your head in a trash can. At first, everyone thought that they were just taking out the garbage, but this stench continued. Everyone ran to the numbers, so an attack of nausea was already setting in. Open the window - you can not - the stench. Close the window - very hot. The air conditioners, although stated in the description of the hotel, did not work, some of the sockets were also broken, the TV also worked strangely - you press “increase the volume”, and it decreases, you press “increase the channel”, and it decreases, and so on. Nevertheless, we decided to close the windows - the heat is better than this horror. This stench passed at about 3 am - I couldn’t sleep, so I know the time for sure, I’m not used to sleeping on the trash can. The wind has changed its direction. This smelly show was repeated on average every other day when the wind changed direction. I managed to find out that there is a poultry farm near the hotel and this smell comes from there, the animators also said that it was always like this at least 2 days a week and they were already used to it. As a result, instead of getting better, we all lost weight - we couldn’t eat with the smell of rotten meat.
There is construction going on near the hotel (still a new hotel or buildings for this hotel), fortunately we were lucky and we lived quite far from this place, but many had windows overlooking this view and the noise did not allow them to sleep during the day when you can’t go out into the sun . I think the construction there has already been going on for a year, and it will still go on for several more years.
The rest was ruined... Upon arrival home, my son plays in the hotel, builds buildings out of cubes, a swimming pool, a beach, and builds a large pipe next to the hotel. To the question "what is it?" - answers - this is a pipe that stinks for those who are resting. This is his main impression of the rest.
In addition… The hotel offers all-inclusive tours to almost everyone, what is included is very well described here: http://all-inclusive.narod.ru, but for all-inclusive you can always get tap water, as well as sprite, cola and fanta mixed with the same tap water. In order to get it, you have to stand in line, which moves so slowly, as it always picks up glasses. There are no beach towels, the sunbeds are old and broken, and the whole beach is stuffed with umbrellas (a rusty iron pipe with an iron rim on top and straw on it), which only interfere. There is a water park on the territory, but you have to pay for it (but what about all-inclusive?), there is archery to shoot or golf to play, but when 2 clubs and two bows for 400 vacationers, consider that this is not. The food at the hotel is good, but on the second day you get tired of eating bony fish and liver and sucking on the bones from turkey and chicken (the fact is that they didn’t give legs or wings, they gave chopped bones with meat leftovers).
Cleaning the room - smearing the sand, changing the bed - just refill it (we found out by the presence of sand in the bed - the child brought it, and it lay - the bed did not change!). Change of towels every day, even when not needed, but it looks like this: in the morning at 9 am they took all the towels, and at 3 pm they brought them back. And the fact that those who get up at 10 in the morning (for example, I sometimes got up like that) or who came from the beach in the sand at 12 o'clock and want to go to dinner after a shower - there is nothing to dry off with. Hanging the “DO NOT DISTURB” tag does not help - they still push you through the room, even if you are standing in your underpants or without them in the bathroom - they still don’t say “sorry” and don’t leave, but they communicate with you as if they should .
All information about the hotel is classified - you won’t know how to use the phone in the room, you won’t find the TV remote, the iron, that you are entitled to a safe, or you won’t find out about the work of restaurants on site and that you are entitled to free dinner in these restaurants and you won't know much more! You will find out all this when you leave the hotel, since there is no information in the room. Even when the dining room is open, you will learn from other vacationers.

Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to escape in the summer, I had to go in October, but, you know, it didn’t hurt at all)) There are fewer people, more attention and space, the weather is not bad (the only thing that interfered from time to time, it was the wind as we caught the end of the season). You know, I went with my father... Both for him and for me, there was something to do)) Service, in fact, is very good (do not believe when they say that they are arrogant, evil, etc.) know their business. A little tip: you have to be good with them, then you will get everything you need :) The animation team is just super!!! The bartenders are good too! At the reception they are very friendly! The only thing that bothered me was a large number of mosquitoes - it's true, but if you stock up on good products for the rooms and for the body in advance, this problem is immediately removed, the main thing is to prepare!))
