The Office of Rospotrebnadzor for Moscow has identified the beaches of Moscow where swimming is allowed. There are 11 such places in the city, this is one of 48 recreation areas where you can sunbathe in Moscow.

Before issuing permission to open a recreation area for swimming, employees of the Moscow Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology conduct laboratory tests of sand and water. In addition, Rospotrebnadzor controls that the bottom of the reservoir and the adjacent territory are cleaned, sand is replaced, programs for sanitary rules for pest control, maintenance of toilets, etc. are performed.

Officially, the swimming season usually begins on the first of June and lasts until the first of September. Moscow recreation areas are open daily from 9:00 to 21:00.
