From where you can safely watch the "Scarlet Sails. Scarlet sails: where to look and why to go Where you can watch scarlet sails

The event, according to a long tradition, is held during the white nights and is timed to coincide with the holiday last call. The Scarlet Sails program is one of the most colorful and vibrant events in all of Russia.

The program of the Scarlet Sails holiday this year, as usual, will give you the opportunity to watch a colorful show and listen to popular performers.

The program of the holiday "Scarlet Sails":

June 23, 2018:
- from 20:00 to 22:00 - gathering of graduates on Palace Square and spectators on the Strelka Vasilyevsky Island;
- 22:00 - theatrical prologue on Palace Square;
- 22:20 - the beginning of the concerts on the Palace Square and on the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island.

June 24, 2018:
- from 00:40 to 01:00 - water pyrotechnic show on the Neva, fireworks to classical music;
- 00:50 - the passage of the Swedish sailboat "Three Crowns" (Tre Kronor of Stockholm) with scarlet sails, referring the audience to the work of the same name;
- 01:10 - continuation of concerts on Palace Square and the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island;
- 04:00 - end of the show.

This year, Basta, Alekseev, ST, Alsou, Marie Kraymbreri, Artem Pivovarov, Victoria Daineko, My Michel, Quest Pistols Show, as well as the star of the Voice show Rutger Garecht will perform at the Scarlet Sails festival in St. Petersburg.

It was these artists who this year were chosen by the 2018 graduates themselves.

Exactly at 10:00 pm, the introductory part of the program starts on Palace Square. After 20 minutes, the concert begins there, which will last more than 2 hours. Guest stars will perform for all guests of the event.

The water pyrotechnic program will start after midnight: at 00:40. It will unfold before the eyes of the audience in the water amphitheater on the territory of three kilometers. Against the backdrop of city buildings, palaces and temples, this spectacle will become even more attractive and large-scale. For some time, the Neva will turn into a springboard for a fabulous performance, which many people in the world want to see.

The show does not last very long - twenty-one minutes. However, during this time, fifty thousand volleys will light up the St. Petersburg sky. We can say that the heavens will literally bloom with fiery flowers. The light show will be accompanied by a musical series.

At the end of the program, the ship "Secret" will appear - a ship with scarlet sails. It will pass along the river bank to musical accompaniment. Fireworks will continue at this time. For seven years now, the role of a fairy-tale ship has been played by the Swedish sailing ship Three Crowns.

After 1 am, the concert will continue, and the event itself will end only at 4 am.

It is important to note that you can get to the Scarlet Sails concert only by invitation cards. Graduates, parents of graduates, school teachers could receive them. Tickets are ordered by school management, and their issuance takes place until June 22, 2018.

"Scarlet Sails" is undoubtedly a beautiful and spectacular phenomenon, and, perhaps, having looked at it ten years ago, right now you will experience a keen desire to renew your impressions. TV in this case is not the best helper. With my own eyes - it is somehow more interesting. But if your age no longer allows you to suspect an average graduate in you, then you most likely will not want to wield your elbows in a crowd of thirsty spectacles. You are also unlikely to climb onto the roof and jet ski, although they offer this as well. the site decided to find out if it is possible to look at this annual phenomenon with comfort if you have already achieved something in life and can afford something more expensive than fake invitations to Palace Square.

The ideal and probably the easiest option for those who want to look at the "Scarlet Sails" with comfort from the window of some cozy room would be to rent hotel room overlooking the Neva. The Saint Petersburg Hotel, located on Pirogovskaya Embankment, could be perfect for this. But the option is so obvious that there are no empty rooms left in the hotel for a long time. Reservations should have been made at least a month or two in advance. But there is still an opportunity to book a table in the panoramic restaurant "Bering", located in this hotel. The restaurant says that this can be done without prepayment, however, if the company is not very large. But the ideal view from the restaurant window is not guaranteed at the show.

Since the hotel did not work out, we decided to move to Palace embankment, there are plenty of buildings, for sure it will be possible to agree with someone to admire the fireworks and a boat with bright sails passing along the Neva for a moderate (or not so) fee.

Perhaps the first thing that could catch the eye of even a person who knows almost nothing about St. Petersburg (for example, who has just arrived in the city to admire the white nights and the Scarlet Sails) is, of course, the Hermitage. From there, looking at the "Scarlet Sails" is the sweetest thing. But, unfortunately, it closes at 18:00 - period. Organization of an evening visit or night tour impossible. At least that's what we were told on the phone. Perhaps someone you know has other acquaintances who know someone who has other information. We do not want to hint at anything, but we are forced to state: the night watchmen (or what are they called? caretakers?) in the Hermitage can boast the most magnificent view of the Scarlet Sails.

The next quite pleasant place to watch could be a restaurant in the Palace of the Grand Duke Vladimir, on Palace Embankment, 26. But it is already fully booked for the time of Scarlet Sails. They say on the phone: there are no places for any money.

The House of Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences is also located at the same address, but it is also impossible to rent its premises in order to quietly observe what is happening in the Neva water area. Again, we are not hinting at anything, but becoming a scientist for one night would be the very thing that is needed.

Vash Address LLC is trying to sell the premises of the neighboring building for offices, but for some reason they are not ready to rent empty rooms for just one night.

On the Palace Embankment, 20 is located the art space "Taiga". Many creative shops, workshops and even the studio of one radio station found shelter there. Surely one of them would not mind renting out a room that is not used at night. It turns out that this is also impossible: for the duration of the "Scarlet Sails" all the premises - according to a separate clause in the contract - are occupied by the owners of the building. Please, talk to them.

The premises of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts and the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, located in houses No. 18 and No. 8 on Palace Embankment, are also not rented out even to very wealthy people. Maybe it's for the best.

Trying to find a suitable apartment in residential buildings Palace Embankment, we turned to several agencies involved in daily rent apartments. They shrugged their hands and answered: “Nothing to the Scarlet Sails.” If we had taken care of it a little earlier, the choice of apartments with windows on the Neva would have been quite wide.

The buildings at the very beginning of the embankment are occupied by the St. Petersburg Institute of Culture and Arts. the site also asked its representatives a question about the possibility of renting premises. It turned out that everything is possible, but only theoretically. The process of agreeing on a lease usually takes about six months, that is, it was worth taking care of this issue somewhere in December.

It would be possible to sit down somewhere near the Peter and Paul Fortress, for example, in "Smelt" - there is both a view and comfort, but on June 20 the restaurant is closed, as the "safety" administrator politely informs on the phone. But you can try to take a seat in the "Eurasia" on the Makarov embankment, however, booking tables for the time of "Scarlet Sails" is not available. But the place itself is open, and if you somehow manage to keep up with the others who want to watch the show, you can take a seat.

Not much less pretentious than the Hermitage and Petropavlovka, the Stock Exchange building on the V. O. arrow is also not an easy option. Technically, the Exchange is now empty, and there should only be watchmen there. But at least you can ask, of course.

Since it is not so easy to calmly watch the scarlet sails and fireworks from land, it seems that the last option remains - to watch from the water. This is also not an easy task: for the duration of the graduates' holiday, the water area of the Neva is closed. But rental companies water transport, claim that it will be possible to see the show from the side of Smolnaya Embankment, where the ship can approach. To do this, you can pay for a two-hour boat trip, which will cost 2.5 thousand rubles per person. True, the ship will have to be shared with others who want to look at what is happening and hope that these will not be the same cheerful graduates.

Those who find this option not great enough will still be able to rent a whole ship at a price of 7 thousand rubles per hour (although they will give it for at least 4 hours) or even a yacht for thirty thousand per hour (with the same minimum period rent). True, employees of companies that rent yachts and boats hint in every possible way that someone else can take transport at any time and you need to hurry. Either the boats are really running out, or experienced sales specialists are trying to persuade the client to make a decision as soon as possible.

But for those who suffer from an excess of money and do not like water, there is one more bad news: watch " Scarlet sails» from a bird's eye view, comfortably seated in the cockpit of a helicopter, you will not be able to. The reason for this will be the St. Petersburg Economic Forum coinciding with the alumni holiday, during which air space closes over the city.

It turns out that those who remembered the existence of the holiday just now, regardless of financial capabilities, do not have so many options. In any case, you will either have to push around on the embankment, or fight for a place in one of the few restaurants still available for booking, or watch what is happening from the water. Or maybe it’s better to wait until next year and then, from December, start negotiating the lease of premises on the Palace Embankment.

The basis of the future sailing vessel was the hull of the former fishing seiner. In order for the brig to match the sailboats of the 19th century, experts almost completely went over the hull. When creating the vessel, ancient shipbuilding methods were taken into account, as well as modern technologies were used. The sailboat is 50 meters long, 7.6 meters wide, and has a draft of 3.5 meters. Main engine power - 610 hp The size of scarlet sails is 900 square meters. meters. On the open sea, the brig can move at a speed of 16 knots per hour (about 30 km per hour), which is the maximum figure for this class of vessels.

It is expected that the Scarlet Sails holiday will bring together more than 33,000 graduates of St. Petersburg schools and more than 1.5 million citizens and guests of St. Petersburg.

For the first time, the Scarlet Sails holiday in St. Petersburg was celebrated in 1968 and celebrated for 10 years until 1979. This significant day was celebrated again in 2005. It is held on the weekend closest to the longest day of the June white night.

Events on the holiday "Scarlet Sails" of St. Petersburg

Now "Scarlet Sails" is an international show that gathers more and more viewers every year.

Graduates of St. Petersburg schools receive 2 invitation cards - for themselves and for their friend. The celebration usually takes place at 2 sites - on the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island and on Palace Square, where large screens are installed and a teleconference is organized between the sites. Entrance to the Palace Square is by invitation cards. On the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island, everyone is usually present. On the night of the event, traffic along the Neva stops.

The governor of St. Petersburg addresses the graduates with parting words. The motto of the holiday is "Russia is a country of opportunities". Its symbol is Dunayevsky's overture to the film "Children of Captain Grant".

Then a concert is held on Palace Square, in the program of which famous artists take part, and Ivan Urgant has been one of the hosts for several years in a row. Many guests also watch the concert on the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island.

The culmination is a spectacular lighting show, accompanied by colorful fireworks and live sounds of a symphony orchestra in the Neva water area between Troitsky, Palace and Birzhevoy bridges. To the music of Dunayevsky for the film “Children of Captain Grant”, a ship with scarlet sails appears from the side of the Trinity Bridge.

After the colorful show, concerts continue, in which youth groups take part.

Unfortunately, by morning, the venues for celebrations are strewn with garbage, and the lawns are trampled. Very drunk young people walk the streets. Sometimes there are fights. In this regard, proposals are being discussed to limit the sale of alcohol stronger than 15 degrees on the eve and on the day of the holiday. But it is remarkable that only a small part of the youth celebrates the holiday so vigorously.

The Scarlet Sails holiday in St. Petersburg inspires graduates with faith in a brighter future. The organizers are trying to make the event interesting not only for young people, but also for older people.

How the Scarlet Sails holiday appeared in St. Petersburg

Then, in 1968, the director of the City Palace of Pioneers was given the task by the city leadership to organize a city-wide holiday of graduates. Since the guys always walked along the Neva embankments after receiving their certificates, the embankment from the Bronze Horseman to the Summer Garden was chosen as the venue.

The first part of the event included concerts and competitions on the embankments of St. Petersburg. Every 100 meters, platforms were organized where artists performed and competitions were held. For winning the competition, schoolchildren were awarded a trip around the city at night or a walk on river tram across the Neva. At that time, all graduates wanted to win such a prize, and therefore they participated in fun contests with pleasure.

For example, there were scales and a height meter on the site, and the children were asked to guess whether the weight of all graduates of the class would reach a ton, and their height - up to 1 km. And on one platform there was a 3-liter jar of nuts and you had to guess how many nuts were in it.

The children took part in the dance competition and performed songs to the accordion or button accordion. The song had to be sung to the end. They usually started together, and the class who knew the words of the song completely won.

Everyone understood that the name of the celebration should be associated with water and at first, except for the name associated with water - Aurora, they could not think of anything. The idea to name the holiday "Scarlet Sails" was accepted with enthusiasm.

The actual ceremonial events began at 23:00. A boat departed from the Peter and Paul Fortress, on which stood a guy and a girl with a burning torch in their hands. The boat was moving towards the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island. The torch was passed to the cadets standing at the Rostral columns, who lit the torches on the columns and announced the opening of the holiday.

Then, from behind the Kirov Bridge, a sailboat with scarlet sails appeared on the smooth surface of the Neva, on which Assol stood. The spectacle was unusually beautiful and short-lived. Unfortunately, only those who stood in the front rows on the embankment could see him. That year, the holiday, which was attended by 25 thousand people, lasted until 2 am and was remembered by all participants as a bright and kind event.

AT On the night of June 23-24, the main St. Petersburg summer show - "Scarlet Sails - 2018" will be held.
Scarlet sails - our main "signature" St. Petersburg city holiday, a sort of St. Petersburg summer New Year.

For the first time, the Scarlet Sails holiday in St. Petersburg was celebrated in 1968 and celebrated for 10 years until 1979. Then the bfl break and again it began to be celebrated in 2005. It is held on the weekend closest to the longest day of the June white night.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the holiday, which is why all viewers should expect a show that has never happened before. The city authorities assume that about 80,000 graduates (former schoolchildren) will take to the streets and embankments of the city alone.

The Scarlet Sails holiday will start at 22:00. By tradition, the main venues for the event will be Palace Square and the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island. One of the symbols of the graduates' holiday is traditionally, which can always be seen as a transition from school life to adulthood, from the past to the future.

An unusual stage will be built next to the General Staff building. From 20:00 to 22:00, graduates and their guests will gather on Palace Square, and the rest of the audience - on the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island. This year, access to the Palace Bridge will be opened. But it is better to take places there in advance - most likely a few hours in advance.

The program will start at 22:00 with a theatrical prologue on Palace Square, and at 22:20 concerts will begin at both venues. Ivan Urgant has been the host of the concert for several years now. His colleagues in different years were Yulia Kovalchuk, Yana Churikova, Alexander Gudkov, Alla Mikheeva, Olga Shelest, and in the last two years this honor has been given to the showman by the journalist of the Fifth TV Channel Daria Alexandrova. In total, 350 people will perform on stage during the evening.

The headliner of the concert is one of the leaders of the rap movement, the Basta group. In addition, Ukrainian singer Alekseev and Russian rapper ST (Alexander Stepanov), Alsou and Marie Kraymbreri, Artyom Pivovarov and Victoria Daineko, My Michel and Quest Pistols Show will perform on Palace Square.

At 00:40, the audience will enjoy a fascinating light and pyrotechnic show, which will culminate in the appearance of a ship with scarlet sails on the Neva. Under the flashes of fireworks, it will sail along the main waterway of the city and remind the public of how important it is to believe in a beautiful dream with all your heart. It is useless to wait for him at the Bronze Horseman! He will pass by summer garden and make a turn at the Hermitage. The entire show will take place at the Hermitage. It is useless to stand at the Bronze Horseman.

There will also be a pyrotechnic show on the Trinity Bridge. The organizers have prepared a lot of surprises and technical designs, which have no analogues in the world.

00:50 passage of the brigantine "Secret" under scarlet sails.

At 01:10 the audience will be able to return to the stage: the concert program will resume and continue until 04:00.

Entrance to Palace Square will be by invitation cards, which will be issued to graduates and their parents. Part of the tickets was sent to other cities.

Informal tips:

1. The weather seems to be good, but it will probably rain at night. This year the summer is good, but the water is always cool. In addition to a jacket, take a windbreaker or a cheap raincoat for 100 rubles. As good as it gets! And it is convenient to take pictures and hide from rain and wind. The water is always colder! If your girlfriend says FI! Take two, anyway, then give her your raincoat. Do not take umbrellas, you will break them and you can gouge out the eyes of others and you will interfere with beating.

2. Wear tight, closed shoes. NOT SANDALS! It is impossible to look under your feet in the crowd, there will definitely be broken bottles or other feet in heavy drunken boots, at least.

3. With your bottles and any liquid, even in plastic, they will not let you into the area where you can dance!

4. The metro will run all night, which is convenient. BUT! Pass only on tokens. All night will work at intervals of 30 minutes bus routes 8, 12, 56, 77, 80, 93, 106, 114, 142 and 154, trolleybus 37, which run between metro stations and residential areas of "sleeping" areas. The rest of the transport will start working no earlier than 4 am.

5. Don't take up space on the waterfront. Stand for a long time, do not move away (you will lose your place), crush and you can’t really see anything. It is better to hang out on the roof, on a boat or by the stage. The screen is more visible and more beautiful, and fireworks can be seen from everywhere. The most trump place IMHO at the stage on Strelka, but even better at home on the couch watching live broadcasts.

6. If you are not alone, take a CHARGED mobile. It's very easy to get lost! One young man in 2011 I was looking for my elderly mother, whom I brought to the holiday and lost. He made his way through the crowd and yelled in a wild, frightened voice MOM! MOTHER! Help! She won't find her way home! Everyone sympathized with him, but they could not help him. It was even scary for my mother. It's very easy to get lost there. I hope they are all well.
Arrange in advance where to meet if you get lost. If not local, write a note in the children's pocket with your mobile and hotel address. It is easy to get lost in the crowd, and there are always VERY many people.

7. Go to the bathroom early and don't drink beer before. There are toilets there, but the queues will be wild.

8. If you are on a car, it would not hurt to bring an ordinary stool on which you can sit down and, if necessary, stand up. But if you cross the bridges from the Petrograd side towards the center by car, it will be problematic to go back.

9. Once again - dress warmly, take a raincoat, FULLY CHARGE YOUR MOBILE! Check the charging of those with whom you go. If there is, take the "charger".

10. It is best to watch the show with a boat a day earlier, during the dress rehearsal))) but watch the fireworks in full on the holiday itself)))

11. There are sites selling tickets for rooftops. Immediately specify what will be visible from it, otherwise you can pay 3000, and the Neva and the boat will not be visible at all, only fireworks. Can and locals don't let them in and the night might end up in the police. As far as I know, officially you can even get on the roof of the Hermitage (there is an LLC that sells tickets officially) recently cost 5,000 rubles, but just before the holiday it can be more expensive.

Often you can buy tickets for Scarlet Sails only via the Internet. It is better to do this in advance. The most top viewing from a pleasure ship. Tickets can be bought
