Savitskaya was unconscious for several hours. Waking up, I saw a chair in front of me with the body of a dead husband. “Volodya sat with his hands on his knees and looked at me with a fixed look.” The rain that had been pouring all this time had already washed the blood from his face.
Larisa received a number of serious injuries, but despite this she could move independently. When she was able to get up, she removed the white cloak from the chair and covered her husband's face.
While waiting for the rescuers, Savitskaya built herself a temporary shelter from the wreckage of the aircraft. She was warmed by covers from the seats, and she was saved from mosquitoes by hiding herself with a plastic bag. I drank water from puddles - it rained all these days.
Larisa, as well as the bodies of her husband and two more passengers who died in that compartment, were found only two days later - the last of all the victims of the disaster. Relatives during this time have already managed to order a coffin for her and even dig a grave.
Savitskaya was the only survivor of the 38 people on board the An-24.
She was taken by helicopter to the nearest city of Zavitinsk, where the military airfield was based, to which the dead bomber was assigned, and put in the hospital. However, after only a day, they were discharged and sent home.
In Blagoveshchensk, located three hundred kilometers from Zavitinsk, Savitskaya traveled in the back seat of a Zhiguli along taiga roads.
In the Blagoveshchensk hospital, doctors diagnosed her with a concussion, spinal injuries in five places, and fractures of her arm and ribs. She also lost almost all her teeth. The consequences of these injuries affect throughout the subsequent life of Larisa Savitskaya.
A year after the disaster, she lay at home in bed, "it was difficult to eat a bowl of soup."
Then she began to try to return to normal life. She graduated from the institute, having received a diploma in biology, went to school as a teacher. However, she was able to hold out at school for less than a year and then she was already looking for an easier job - a laboratory assistant, an insurance agent.
In 1985, without a husband, Savitskaya gave birth to a son, Gosha. And two months after giving birth, her mother died in a car accident.
Larisa lived with her child on a single mother's allowance, which amounted to 32 rubles. She reprinted texts, sold books. After perestroika, she organized a company selling shoes. Then she worked in the office of "Borjomi" - until she was paralyzed due to the consequences of a craniocerebral injury.

I also read somewhere on the Internet a study on my fall. The scientist, his name is Gorbovsky, analyzes my case on a par with cats and children, who have the ability to fall from high altitude and not break. According to the laws of physics, the impact force depends on the weight, the height of the fall, and the measure of surface resistance. The scientist comes to the conclusion that in the case of me, children and cats, some of these quantities do not obey the laws of physics. In a stressful situation, a mechanism is activated that blocks the force of gravity. I don't know if this scientist is right, but I like the comparison with cats and children.
After what happened, you don't believe in God?
At that moment there was no spiritual turning point. I didn't fall into religion, or drunkenness, or depression. I love life. But sometimes, half-jokingly, half-seriously, I say: "I am God's favorite girl." Because he sends such trials only to his most beloved beings. I live as I lived. I remember all this only on August 24 - when I celebrate my second birthday. Still - in the spring and autumn, when the disease worsens. And when disaster strikes. At this moment, I relive everything that happened then. All plane crashes are mine. It feels like a part of me is still there. Hasn't landed yet.
How was your fate after the fall?
Five years later she gave birth to a child. First she worked as a teacher, then, when Gosha fell ill, she did all sorts of work. She reprinted texts, sold books, starved. After perestroika, I had a company selling shoes. Then she worked at the representative office of Borjomi. Until I got paralyzed. Sequelae of traumatic brain injury. Recovered. Now I work as an office manager in a real estate company. After work I try to go straight home - my spine gets very tired. You know, I am included in the Russian Guinness Book of Records in two categories.

I know that the Yugoslav stewardess is still alive, who in 1972 fell from a height of 10 thousand meters. Recently I was interviewed by the Germans and they said that in Germany there is a woman who fell from 3 thousand meters. Now we have two more flight attendants. I have always had a great desire to talk to someone who has gone through the same thing as me. I am very happy for Tatyana and Arina. When they recover, I would like to meet them. I still have this idea that you can learn to survive in such situations. For example, why are women mostly saved - creatures more receptive to the quiet voice of intuition? I think we need to look in this direction.
