How to get a visa to Lithuania yourself

Traveling even to nearby foreign countries requires good preparation, and this especially applies to the preparation of various documents.

Do you need a visa to Lithuania? Lithuania, as one of the Baltic states, actively developing tourism and business relations with neighbors, quite willingly opens its doors to Russians and Belarusians.

But, as in the case of other countries, certain conditions must be met.

Schengen visa to Lithuania

To travel to Lithuania, Schengen visas are issued, which are divided into categories A, B, C, D.

Transit visas category A and B

Transit visas mean that on the territory of the state you can either stay in a certain area within the airport (type A), or stay in the country for no more than 5 days (type B). This option is suitable for travelers who are planning a route to Europe via Lithuania by car, as well as with transfers, for example, from train to plane.

Category C

"Schengen" category C for stay in Lithuania can be of three types: tourist, guest and work (business). Each of them differs in its conditions of receipt, cost and travel time.

Category D

This visa is called national because it is issued for three months or more, up to several years. Most often requested for studying or working in Lithuania.

Visa for Belarusians

Since the visa is Schengen, there are no conditions for obtaining it for residents of Russia and Belarus they do not differ, except that the sample documents will be their own, state ones.

What is the price

The cost of a visa to Lithuania is a consular fee and amounts to 35 euros or a similar amount in rubles. First you need to find out in what currency the specific institution where you are going to apply with your application accepts payment. For urgent visas, the consular fee may double and amount to 70 euros.

Visas are processed by official organizations representing Lithuania in Russia. To get an appointment, you must make an appointment in advance by phone or through the online form.

In the capital, people often contact the consular department of the Lithuanian Embassy in the Russian Federation, which can be found at the address: Arbatskaya metro station, Borisoglebsky lane, building 10.

Consulates of Lithuania

You can submit documents for registration and obtain a Lithuanian visa in consulates. There are four of them in Russia:

  • in St. Petersburg (Ryleeva St., 37);
  • in Sovetsk (Iskra St., 22);
  • in Kaliningrad (Proletarskaya str., 33);
  • in Irkutsk, but the latter does not issue a visa.
