You can apply for a UAE visa through Manage My Booking after booking your Emirates flight. Additional VSF processing fees may apply. For more information, visit the VFS Global website.

Residents and citizens of many countries around the world can take advantage of the opportunity to obtain a visa online. Find out if you can get a UAE visa. Passports of citizens applying for a visa must be valid for at least six months after travel to Dubai, and must also be machine readable: passports with handwritten notes will not be accepted.

The service is only available to Emirates passengers with a confirmed booking and holding an Emirates e-Ticket for an itinerary that includes a specified duration of stay in Dubai. Arrivals into and departures from Dubai must be booked on a single ticket for flights operated by Emirates (PNR). Please note that if your booking includes flights on other airlines from or to Dubai, the online visa request service will not be available.

Your online visa application must be submitted at least four days (including business days worldwide) before your arrival in Dubai. However, Emirates strongly recommends that requests be submitted as early as possible.

Applying in the UAE

If one of your family members or a close relative resides in the UAE, they can apply for a visa on your behalf at any Emirates sales office in the UAE. Please note that this service is only available to UAE residents.

In February 2019, an agreement was signed in Dubai, which provides for the possibility for tourists from Russia to obtain a free single-entry tourist visa immediately upon arrival and to increase its validity. .

A long layover between connecting flights will allow you to spend several days in the United Arab Emirates and get to know the developing resort.

Russians can stay in the country for 90 days without a visa.

When crossing the state border, all tourists undergo a retinal scan. It is worth understanding this procedure; it is simple and painless, and is performed for the safety of all those arriving in the country.

Required documents to obtain a single-entry visa

To obtain a visa to the UAE at the airport, you need a foreign passport; it must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip. Russians no longer need any documents to enter the country in 2020.

Rules for entry with children

If you are traveling with children, make sure before the start of the tour that you have a separate passport for each child.

Please note that it is impossible to issue upon arrival if they are included in your foreign passport. In this case, you will have to obtain a visa in advance.

When parents have different surnames, you must take with you the child's birth certificate translated into English. And if children are accompanied by third parties (aunts, uncles) or one of the parents, you need to prepare a package of documents. You should take:

If your place of birth according to your passport is one of the Middle Eastern countries, you need to have a copy, or better yet, the original birth certificate with you. The document must be translated into English or Arabic and notarized.

When visiting the United Arab Emirates, girls under 30 years of age should preferably be in the country only when accompanied by an adult man (husband or brother).

You can also have permission from your parents, previously certified by a notary, as well as documents confirming your solvency.

Lately, no one is paying attention to these regulations, and girls can also go on vacation.

Visa extension

If you want to extend your vacation in the UAE by a few days or weeks, be sure to extend your visa. Extension for another 30 calendar days is allowed. When contacting the migration service, you must go through the procedure of filling out an application, in which you must indicate the extension period and the personal number received when applying for the initial visa.

Registration cost

Next, you pay the fee. It will cost 550-625 AED. You will be stamped again and you can continue your vacation. Staying in the emirates for more than 60 days requires issuing a multiple-entry visa in the usual manner, in advance of the trip. And do not forget that every tourist is responsible for failure to comply with the terms of stay in the country.

Fine for late departure from the country

In a situation where entry into the UAE occurs with a valid visa, but departure is not carried out within the permitted time frame, a fine of more than $2,000 is imposed. Further, each day of delay will be estimated at 40-45 dollars.

If it is not possible to establish the exact location of a citizen who has overstayed his visa, the fine is paid by the person who was the guarantor, that is, relatives or a travel company.

In addition, failure to comply with visa regulations in the future may result in a ban on re-visiting the United Arab Emirates.

Visa refusal

Despite the simplified option of issuing a single-entry tourist visa to Russians right at the airport, entry refusals are also possible. The final decision always remains with the migration service representative. A reason for denying you entry into a country may be a serious violation of its laws and visa rules during previous trips.

Please note that deportation from the country also occurs at the expense of the tourist. In rare cases, the airline may accommodate and place the passenger on the next flight if seats are available.

Is it possible to completely abolish the visa regime?

There is no talk yet of completely abolishing the visa regime between the two countries. Reducing costs when processing documents for tourist trips to the UAE, developing business and educational ties between Russia and the United Arab Emirates are topics for future negotiations.

However, the introduction of a free single-entry visa for 60 days is already having a positive effect on the influx of Russian tourists to the country of luxurious skyscrapers and hot sun.
